“I have to go,” I said to Raven four hours later as I got dressed again.

“I know,” she said, and looked down.

“I’ll see you soon,” I said, and kissed her goodbye.

I headed out of the door and trudged through the trees back to my Jeep. There were ten missed calls from Kari when I checked my phone....
