Chapter 5 CHAPTER FIVE: THE SHE-WOLF.
MORRIS' POV.
Every evening, I run in the evening run. Come to think of it, I am the king of werewolves and shouldn't do it because I can get anyone I want to do it, but I like doing it myself, and it gives me a check to ease off the stress from the day.
My wolf, Ren, is a wolf that everyone fears. He not only protects me but the entire pack as a whole, the Greek Pack. It is our duty to protect them.
Ren is running our usual route but that night felt something different. I told him to calm down so that we could find out what it was. It was then that the wind carried a noticeable scent towards us. Ren followed the scent, wanting to find out where it was coming from.
We came to a small stream, and we stopped and looked around. By the rock side, we saw something.
“Morris, there's something there?* Ren told me, pointing his hands towards the area the scent was coming from.
“Let's check. Just before we proceed you’ve to be prepared because they could be rogues or a rogue. I don't want to be involved in an unexpected attack.
We came closer and saw the skin of a body lying, showing her long blonde hair. She was not moving but her heart was beating.
“Shift Ren,” I told him and we did that immediately.
As soon as I shifted to human, I discovered that I was naked but that was not my problem. My concern was for the she-wolf to regain consciousness again. From what I saw, she's a very beautiful girl. I gradually tapped her again but she was not waking. I knew she needed some medical assistance. It could be that she fainted.
“Doctor?” I mindlinked our pack doctor
“My king?”
“I just found an unconscious she-wolf in the forest. I am bringing her to you so be ready to attend to her as soon as she comes.”
“Your wish is my command, my king. We’ll be ready.”
I bent to check her again and she was still unconscious but breathing, so I quickly lifted her and carried her to the pack doctor.
“This face is strange. Where do you think she's coming from? She's not from this pack. Are you sure she's not a rogue? Ren asked me.
“I don't know but from my observations, she doesn't look like a rogue. Maybe she fainted.”
The way I defended her was what I could not explain. Someone I’ve not seen before.
“I love her scent.” Ren Purrs.
If not for the fact that I’ve already met my mate, I am sure that this scent would have drawn me to her, not to mention her beauty.
Sadly, I already met my mate who betrayed me and died after some years. After that incident, I became hard and cold and locked up my heart. It's been three years now, and I don't have anybody in my life.
Many she-wolves have tried to charm and seduce me to make them my chosen mate and queen, but I saw their motives, which were POWER. They all had ulterior motives. I looked at the she-wolf in my hand and for some reason that I can't explain, I could feel Ren protecting her.
I decided to mindlink my beta. It was the same beta that was sleeping with my mate before I found out. He pushed the blame to my mate, whom he claimed always seduced him. He openly confessed and asked for forgiveness. I forgave him and we became closer than before.
“Kelly?” I mindlinked my beta. He has been my childhood friend.
“Ren and I have found an unconscious she-wolf in the forest. She's not from here, nor is she a rogue. Check if there’s any report of her missing.”
“Okay, I’ll do that.”
“Thank you.” Please when you're done, come to the hospital.”
“I’ll do just that. See you soon.”

When I reached the hospital, the doctor and his nurses were ready to take care of the she-wolf. I quickly lay her down gently on the bed they brought out and they hurried in with her as she was in a critical condition. I slowly followed them ignoring the way the doctors and nurses were staring at me. I had to wait at the doctor's office while they commenced the treatment.
My beta quickly mindlinked me.
“Where are you? I'm in the hospital.”
“I am at the doctor's office,” I responded.
It was not long, and Kelly, my beta, walked into the office.
“No report of anyone missing.”
“Really? But that's very strange. She looked like she had been running for days because she looked so exhausted.
“It could be her family, her mate, or even her pack that doesn't know that she is missing.”
Kelly took a deep breath.
“I had to even check if there was an attack that had happened somewhere a few days ago, but there was none. Each time there's an attack, there are always victims of the attack, and she may be one of them if there were an attack.” My beta continued.
Beta Kelly is the one in charge of news and information. If I want to know what's going on in the werewolf kingdom, I’ll reach out to him.”
“I guess we need to wait for her to wake up.”
“My king, you can come in now.” The doctor said,
We left the office and walked down the hall until we got to the room where she was kept. She was still unconscious, but was assisted by a lot of machines. I was getting scared that she may die since she was still unconscious but on the other hand, I remembered that I have a professional doctor in our pack and can do everything to bring her back to life.
“Doctor.”
The doctor turned around and bowed to us.
“My king. We’ve run a lot of tests on her and discovered that she's in a very critical condition. She doesn't have any wounds either inside or outside.”
“Do you have any idea why she passed out?”
“It could be stress coupled with the fact that her blood pressure is very high.”
“Anything else?” I asked.
“Yes, she is pregnant with twins.” I was shocked to hear that.
“Are they children fine?’ I was still shocked.
“Yes, they are.”
“Okay, thank you, doctor. Just let me know when she wakes up.”
“Yes, my King. I’ll do that.”.
