Chapter 3

For a moment, the entire audience was shocked!

Looking at Curtis Hazlitt’s twisted and deformed right wrist.

There were several dark, purple fingerprints on it, which were truly shocking to see.

People were horrified, staring at Todd Elsey with disbelief in their eyes.

Just after marrying into the family, how dare he… beat his own brother-in-law?

Then, after the marriage, wouldn’t this person even dare to deal with Old Master Qin?

Just a son-in-law who has to cater to everyone’s wishes in order to survive.

Who on earth gave him the courage and bravery to do this…

Juliet Hazlitt covered her delicate mouth with her hand, equally stunned by what she saw.

“Good job, Todd Elsey!”

“If you can take one step outside today, I, Qin, will no longer bear that surname!”

Curtis Hazlitt raised his right hand and stumbled to his feet.

He pointed at Todd Elsey’s nose and screamed hysterically.

The latter glanced at it briefly and said indifferently:

“…Are you talking to me?”

His fair and handsome face remained calm as usual, but in his deep eyes, a glint of icy murderous intent flashed by.

Curtis Hazlitt felt a chill run down his spine at that glimpse.

A chill spread from the soles of my feet all the way up to the top of my head.

“I…” He stammered for a long time, but couldn’t say a single word.

But Todd Elsey approached step by step, his gaze icy cold. His aura surged violently, intimidating those around him into silence.

“Don’t… don’t come over!”

“Believe it or not, I can have someone ruin you!”

Upon seeing this, Curtis Hazlitt was terrified.

He kept retreating backward, and in a moment of carelessness, he collapsed to the ground with a “thud”.

“If it weren’t for Juliet’s sake.”

“The sins you’ve committed today are beyond redemption!”

As he approached, Todd Elsey looked down at Curtis Hazlitt from a superior position.

A terrifying killing aura, like a sea of corpses and blood, swept in from all directions.

That overwhelming pressure was like Mount Tai pressing down on everyone, lingering in the hearts of all present.

Curtis Hazlitt, who was hit hardest, was completely terrified. He crouched together in fear, trembling on the ground, while screams of horror echoed throughout the hall.

Todd Elcy sighed with pity, turned away, and said:

“Juliet, it’s getting late. We should head back now.”

Juliet Hazlitt suddenly came back to her senses, not knowing what to do.

After a moment of silence, she nodded and stepped forward first.

Seeing this, Todd Elsey followed without any hesitation, walking one step ahead of and behind her as they left together.

It wasn’t until then that Curtis Hazlitt managed to get up on his feet.

He stared in the direction Todd Elsey had gone, roaring in fury:

“Those damned dog , I’ll make sure you all meet a miserable end!”

“Wait till I get to you! I’ll make sure everyone in Mannheim knows what happens to you!”

A string of gratuitous insults poured out like water being splashed around.

The face that’s been completely lost can never be regained.

Due to the Hazlitt family’s influence in Mannheim, no one present dared say much. However, when they looked at Curtis Hazlitt, their eyes clearly showed disdain and contempt.

Realizing his mistake, Curtis Hazlitt stomped his foot angrily and left quickly, without even looking back.

He rushed angrily straight to the main entrance of the hotel.

At that moment, Stephen Hazlitt, the father, was greeting the departing guests with a warm smile. But upon seeing his son’s disheveled and panicked appearance, Stephen Hazlitt was shocked.

He pulled Curtis Hazlitt into a vacant room and said urgently:

“What’s going on here?”

Upon seeing his father, Curtis Hazlitt could no longer hold back all the resentment and anger he had built up inside him:

“Father! You must seek justice for your child…”

Curtis Hazlitt, with tears and snot streaming down his face, choked up as he recounted everything that had happened.

“What? How can this be possible!”

Looking at his tearful son, and those black, twisted wrists.

Steven Hazlitt was instantly furious, his fat face trembling with rage:

“That damned Todd Elsey really has a lot of nerve!”

“How dare you deal such a harsh blow to my son… This is too much!”

Curtis Hazlitt’s eyelids flickered, and his gaze became filled with utter hatred:

“And that bitch Juliet Hazlitt…”

“This is clearly a blatant insult to you!”

Steven Hazlitt slammed the table and stood up angrily:

“I think she’s too arrogant now and doesn’t give me, her uncle, any respect at all.”

“Lao Er and the others clearly had this in mind from the start. They deliberately used this opportunity to stir up trouble!”

Seeing his father’s anger flare up, Curtis Hazlitt quickly took advantage of the situation to speak up:

“Dad, what should we do next…”

He lowered his voice and said in a sinister tone, “How about I bring in a few dozen tough guys tomorrow and break that Elsie’s limbs one by one?”

“I’ll make Juliet Hazlitt stay a widow for the rest of her life!”

The malicious intent behind those words is enough to shock anyone who hears them.

But Steven Hazlitt smiled viciously, with a sinister glint in his old eyes:

“Don’t worry. Your father has his own plans in mind. What good is simply getting rid of Todd Elsey?”

“I’ll take this opportunity to wipe out the entire Lao Er’s family!”

“By then, I’ll make sure they can neither live nor die as they please!”

……

By the time I left the hotel, it was already late at night.

The two sat in the back seat of the car, staying silent throughout the journey, as if they had some unspoken understanding.

When they arrived at a single-family villa, the driver parked the car smoothly.

Todd Elsey got out of the car and followed Juliet Hazlitt obediently. As they stepped up the stairs, the crimson door suddenly creaked open.

Mrs. Hazlitt, with her plump face, stuck her head out and, upon seeing Todd Elsey, exclaimed:

“Wait, who told you to follow me in!”

She stretched out her hand and pointed at the sign in front of the courtyard gate, saying:

“See clearly?… No unauthorized persons or dogs are allowed inside.”

That contemptuous tone, paired with a look of arrogance and superiority.

Obviously, it was meant to intimidate this son-in-law who came from another family.

Upon hearing this, Juliet Hazlitt’s face paled instantly. She quickly turned around to look. She was still terrified by what had happened in the hotel earlier, fearing that the other person might attack her again.

But at this moment, Todd Elsey seemed like a completely different person. In the face of Lady Hazlitt’s teasing, he remained calm and even managed to smile slightly.

“Laughing? What’s there to laugh about?”

Mrs. Hazlitt, Sun Yun, on the other hand, crossed her arms and adopted an uncompromising attitude:

“Besides this physical appearance, I really don’t see what the old man sees in you.”

“You really want to live off the benefits of my Hazlett family… You’re still a bit short of what’s necessary!”

Juliette Hazlitt couldn’t stand it anymore, so she took it upon herself to defend her position.

“Okay, mom, you don’t need to say anything anymore.”

“From now on, he will stay in my room. He won’t be wandering around in front of you anymore.”

Looking at her back as she stood in front of him, Todd Elsey felt his heart warm, and his smile grew even softer.

Upon hearing this, Sun Yun was immediately shocked and cried out in alarm:

“Xuan'er, have you gone completely mad?”

“Do you really want to share a room with this good-for-nothing?”

At that moment, Hovar Hazlitt, who was inside the room, also came over upon hearing the noise.

At this point, Horwald Hazlitt didn’t want things to get too ugly either, so he tried to smooth things over with Juliet Hazlitt.

The boisterous Sun Yun had no choice but to give in and let Todd Elsey enter the house.

To avoid any unnecessary complications, Juliet Hazlitt simply led him upstairs to her bedroom.

Such actions are clearly intended to protect oneself.

As soon as he thought of this, a warm feeling surged in Todd Eels’ heart, and his eyes sparkled with light.

The two people sat down opposite each other in the room. After a moment of silence, Juliet Hazlett spoke softly:

“I don’t know what tricks you used to get the attention of Grandpa….”

“But I truly appreciate everything you’ve done tonight from the bottom of my heart.”

Todd Elsey stared at her, his smile warm and genuine:

“It’s just a piece of cake.”

“Besides, it’s my duty to do this anyway.”

But Juliet Hazlitt firmly shook her head upon hearing this:

“It’s too early to talk about these things now.”

“There’s one thing I need to make clear first…”

“As long as we’re not married, we cannot act as husband and wife!”

Before she could finish speaking, a blush of shyness spread across her pretty face. Yet she continued:

“And also, even if they’re in the same room.”

“You can’t sleep in the same bed with me either. At most, you can sleep on the floor next to me.”

“Also…”

In the cozy room, pleasant and gentle voices kept echoing.

Juliet Hazlitt spilled out everything she’d been holding back in her heart, like beans falling from a bamboo tube.

But Todd Elsey paid hardly any attention to these requirements at all. He simply raised his head and silently admired that beautiful, exquisitely delicate face.

In the blink of ten years, the beautiful woman before me finally began to match the image in my memory.

A gentle smile appeared on Todd Elsey’s lips, as warm as the spring breeze.

Watching her act tough and haggle like that.

For a moment, Todd Elsey could hardly resist the urge to reveal everything that was buried deep in his heart.

But in the end, he stopped his thoughts. With a carefree smile on his face, he revealed two rows of snow-white teeth:

“Whatever you say.”

The other party’s obedient and submissive behavior came as a great surprise to Juliet Hazlett, who secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

The two immediately brought out paper and pen, quickly drafted an agreement, and then solemnly signed their names on it.

Then, Todd Elsey conscientiously brought over the bedding and laid it out on the wooden floor.

The ringing suddenly started. Juliet Hazlitt glanced at her phone, frowning slightly.

…Curtis Hazlitt!?

What does he want by calling at this time?

Could it be that they still think they haven’t lost enough face?

“Hello?” Juliet Hazlitt hesitated for a moment before answering the call.

On the other end of the phone, a vicious and resentful voice immediately rang out:

“Thanks to you…”

“My hand is broken, and I’ve lost my face too. You must be very pleased with yourself now, right?”

Juliet Hazlitt had a frosty expression as she said coldly, “Curtis Hazlitt, this is what you deserve.”

“If that’s all you have to say, then I’m not interested in continuing this conversation.”

With that, she prepared to hang up. But then, another cold laugh came from the phone:

“Hehe, don’t rush, my dear cousin.”

“You still don’t know? Just now, the Hazlitt Group has relieved you of all your duties!”
