Chapter 3: The Wine incident

She had convinced herself that she had healed and moved on from the betrayal of the duo, but once again, her heart felt some bit of pain when she remembered those unpleasant memories back then.

"I'm sorry, Myra, but you are not worthy. I'm going to be an alpha of my pack, and I need someone strong and capable beside me. You are merely a wolfless girl. What makes you think you stand a chance? I hereby reject you as my mate." Those words from her ex-best friend Reed had sealed her fate. She was supposed to be the next luna, but now she was just a mere omega.

She clenched her hands as she watched the two make their way towards her. Her cousin Lana was overly haughty as she held onto Reed's arm. It was as if she was showing off.

"Hi Myra. We saw you and decided to come say hi." Reed spoke first. Lana only had a smirk on her face the whole time.

"Thank you. I'm fine." Myra said. She didn't want to act overly friendly. She preferred being alone.

"We'll head over there to say hi to others. Have fun." Reed said to Myra. He didn't even care whether Lana said hi to Myra or not.

Myra didn't care. It didn't matter. She continued doing stuff on her own as if nothing had happened earlier.

"Oopsie, I didn't see you. I'm sorry. " Suddenly, a lady said with an exaggerated voice. The voice was loud enough to attract the attention of the nearby guests. Everyone turned to look over. Myra was just busy doing stuff on her phone when someone splashed wine on her. She was shocked because she didn't expect such a thing, especially not in that setting.

Myra was wearing a silver grey gown. Since the wine that was poured over her was red, everyone could see the large red patch on her gown.

"Oh, it's the wolfless girl. How dare you show up in such a setting? Only people with wolves should be allowed in." The lady who had splashed wine on Myra continued being sarcastic. Her voice was loud, and people seemed to be enjoying the show.

"Oh, so it's her.."

People started discussing Myra. The looks they gave her were filled with contempt and disgust.

Myra glanced at the group that had come over to bully her. She knew them. They were her cousin's friends. Her cousin was also with them. Myra caught the evil smirk that was playing on Lana's lips. She instantly knew that they were doing this under Lana's instructions. She didn't have the patience to listen to their nonsense.

"You're too noisy. Please give me space." Myra said coldly. She hated the way people surrounded her. Especially the negative energy that they brought with them.

"Oh my, I almost thought your wolf was about to awaken. You scared me." Another lady from the group said and laughed. Everyone who heard this laughed. Myra was helpless. She didn't want to fight back. Her parents. She didn't want them to clean after her dirty things.

The commotion attracted a lot of people. The organizer of the even felt his heart almost stop when he spotted that person. Who else could it be if not "The Dark Lycan?" The man hated drama and noisy people.

"Sir, are you okay?" The respected organizer was overly respectful to that mysterious guy. Of course, everyone diverted their attention to him. They were very curious about what kind of face lay beneath that mask. They knew of his achievements and the insurmountable power he held.

"I didn't know just any dog could be let in?" The mysterious guy commented. He said it in a carefree manner, but the organizer felt cold sweat break out on his back.

The moment Myra heard this, she felt her heart sink. Now, she was even considered a dog.

"I'm sorry, sir. I'll be mindful next time." The organizer said. He regretted inviting some people. After he said this, he went straight to where Myra was seated.

"Miss, please leave. " The organizer said. He felt sorry for the girl, but there was nothing he could do.

"Not her." The mysterious man said. Myra, who was already on her feet, froze in place. Not her? Then whom? Everyone was just as puzzled.

"They're too noisy. I don't want to see them." The man said and closer his eyes. He really hated noise and unnecessary disturbance.

Lana was a very scheming person. As soon as she saw that the situation wasn't looking good for her group, she silently retreated.

Until the girls were sent out of the ballroom, Myra felt like she was dreaming. Could someone tell her what was happening? When she looked at the man, she found that he had his eyes closed. It was as if whatever happened had nothing to do with him. Myra still took note of that incident. If he ever needed her help, she would gladly help. She didn't know why he did that, but she was still thankful.

Then, came the time for people to go on the stage to dance. Almost every young lady had their sights set on the Dark Lycan. They wanted him. He had everything any girl would dream of in a man. To their horror, though, the man didn't even open his eyes to look at them. Everyone gave up. However, the man suddenly opened his eyes and stood up. All the eyes followed him as he started walking in a certain direction.
