Chapter 1: Hey beautiful, are you in 4B?

"This one's got a decent body, height's alright, but the face... not so much..."

On the plane, John Williams leaned back, squinting at the flight attendants strutting up and down the aisle, mumbling to himself.

But then he remembered why he was heading home this time, and he couldn't help but frown and sigh.

"Man, what the hell is James Brown thinking, setting me up on a blind date with his daughter of all people!"

Just picturing James's ugly mug made John shiver.

Sure, John had always sucked at school, but he was pretty good at middle school biology.

Like father, like son; like mother, like daughter—that's genetics. If James is ugly, then his daughter...

Thinking about it, John felt like he was in a horror flick, and his whole body started to shake.

Just as he was trembling, a clear, sweet voice suddenly piped up next to him, making him jump.

"Hey, mister, you're in my seat, aren't you?"

John glanced over and saw the owner of the voice.

It was a super cute little girl!

She was rocking a light blue dress, her figure not fully developed but still graceful, clearly a beauty in the making.

John played dumb, "Miss, are you 4B?"

The little girl misunderstood and snapped, "You're the bitch! Your whole family's bitches!"

"Emily Brown, what's going on?" A tall, icy beauty with a frosty face walked over.

The cold beauty was in a black corset dress with a pale yellow ribbon around her waist, oozing cold arrogance and nobility.

John's eyes were glued to her, looking like a total creep.

Seeing his expression, the cold beauty shot him a disgusted look.

Emily pointed at John and said, "Ava Davis, he insulted me!"

Ava didn't say anything but glared at John, waiting for an explanation.

John leaned back, pointed at the seat number, and said, "Hey, kiddo, I was talking about the seat number 4B, not what you thought. Why are you so worked up?"

After hearing John's explanation, Ava checked the seat number and Emily's boarding pass, saying, "Emily, the seat next to him is ours."

Emily was so mad she was grinding her teeth, wishing she could eat John alive.

But since she was wrong, she couldn't stay mad and went back to her seat.

They sat down next to John, and a faint fragrance wafted over, making him feel a bit dizzy.

John had been in the military for nine years. On the road, he'd even turn his head to look at a sow, let alone now, with two stunning beauties sitting next to him.

At this moment, Emily was fully engrossed in playing Whac-A-Mole on her phone, tapping the screen hard and muttering, "How dare you insult me, I'll hit you, hit you, can't kill you!"

Seeing this, John pursed his lips and said, "Hey, kiddo, the plane's about to take off, you should turn off your phone..."

But before he could finish, Emily rolled her eyes at him and snapped, "You're the kiddo!"

John didn't expect this little girl to have such a fiery temper.

Just as things were getting awkward, Ava scolded softly, "Emily, stop messing around. How many times have I told you to turn off your phone when the plane is taking off!"

Emily responded with an "Oh," and while pressing the power button on her phone, she gave John a fierce glare.

Ava smiled apologetically at John and said, "I'm sorry, she's just a kid, please forgive her."

John was floored by Ava's beauty.

"Ava, I'm almost sixteen, how am I still a kid?" Emily said, puffing out her chest to prove her point.

"Emily, knock it off!"

John gave an awkward smile and asked, "Miss, are you also heading to Orienta Glitz?"

Before he could finish, Emily butted in, "Duh, this is a plane, not a bus."

Then she added with a sneer, "So uneducated, it's scary!"

John felt a bit embarrassed. Emily was young, but her mouth was sharp as a tack.

Ava smiled apologetically and said, "Yeah, I'm going to Orienta Glitz for work."

"What kind of work?" John asked.

Ava paused for a moment and replied, "Service industry."

Hearing "service industry," John's mind went straight to the gutter.

"Service industry, huh? Cool. Where do you work? Maybe I'll drop by sometime!"

Ava's eyes flashed with disdain, and she coldly smiled, "Sure, I work at the forensic lab in Orienta Glitz. My main job is dissecting corpses!"

John felt a bit awkward.

No wonder she was so cold; she often dealt with dead bodies.

Seeing John's weird expression, Emily covered her mouth and giggled.

Then she pulled a business card from Ava's bag and handed it to John.

"This is my cousin's card. You're welcome to check out her skills. Ava's dissected over a hundred corpses without a single mistake!"

At this moment, John felt an urge to curse.

But, trying to be a gentleman, he took the card and glanced at it.

Name: Ava

Position: Deputy Director of the Forensic Lab!

There was even a stamp on it, proving Ava was indeed a forensic scientist.

Thinking about it, John couldn't help but sneak a glance at Ava's hands.

No one would ever guess such perfect hands dealt with dead bodies.

Two hours later, the plane landed at Orienta Glitz Airport.

Emily blinked and said, "Ava, Sophia Brown just texted that she's stuck in traffic and will be half an hour late to pick us up!"

Ava just nodded slightly.

At that moment, a guy wearing a baseball cap hurried past them, brushing against Emily's backpack.

"Sorry, sorry, my kid was in a car accident and is in the hospital. I'm in a rush to get there," the guy in the baseball cap apologized as he walked towards the exit.

"It's okay, sir, be careful!" Emily, being kind-hearted, quickly responded.

"Thanks, you're such a good person!" The guy in the baseball cap replied casually and hurried towards the exit.

Seeing this, John, who was walking behind, couldn't help but shake his head.

"She's still a naive little girl, clueless about the dangers out there!"

With a sigh, he quickly stepped forward and blocked the guy's path.

Seeing someone blocking his way, the guy in the baseball cap immediately looked nervous, "Sir, please move aside, my kid was in a car accident and is in the hospital. I'm in a rush to get there!"

Seeing this, the helpful Emily was a bit unhappy.

"He's going to the hospital to see his kid, why are you being so mean and blocking his way?"

John shrugged, ignoring Emily, and coldly smiled at the guy in the baseball cap, "I don't care if you're going to the hospital to see your kid. But taking someone's stuff without permission is not cool, is it?"

Hearing John's words, the guy in the baseball cap immediately looked flustered.

"What are you talking about? I didn't take anything from anyone!"

"If I'm wrong, then what's that in your pocket?"

As he spoke, John reached for the guy's pocket.
