Chapter 2 See A Doctor For An Abortion

The next morning, I went to the Coffee Cafe Diamond with a loose dress as if I were going on a date, but actually to minimize the slight bulges on my stomach. When I entered the cafe, my eyes immediately landed on Damian. I recognized him right away because his face hadn't changed much; he just looked more mature and a bit cooler. It seems I arrived too early, Damian was talking to a woman he said was a client last night.

I approached, took an empty chair elsewhere, but I was suddenly shocked when the woman in front of Damian quickly grabbed her drink and splashed it on Damian's face. Suddenly, everyone's attention turned to the two of them. Realizing this, the woman hurriedly left the cafe, while Damian wiped his face with a tissue, looking pitiful. Suddenly our eyes meet, Damian smiled but I knew he was holding back his embarrassment.

With his slightly wet clothes, Damian hurried over to me. "Since earlier?" he asked, as if nothing had happened earlier.

"Just now," I lied.

"But you saw what just happened, right?" Damian looked embarrassed, but he could still laugh.

"Is she your girlfriend? You had a fight?" I asked curiously, perhaps more out of concern for the recent incident.

"No, we are on a blind date. Her mother and my mother know each other, they arranged our marriage." I was shocked, they had no relationship at all but the woman dared to splash the man she had just met.

"Why did she do that?" Damian shrugged, no matter how many times he always accompanied his words with a smile, his dimples showing, his jet-black eyes would slightly squint when he smiled. And for God's sake, why did I just realize that Damian is attractive? That woman was so foolish, even though Damian is so handsome.

"Because she just found out that I'm an ob-gyn doctor," Damian said lightly.

"So? What is wrong?" I asked, confused.

"True, it might be better if the woman had responded like you did. But she immediately bombarded me with a lot of questions, how many times I had assisted in delivering women, how many times I had touched the core parts of women. It was disgusting to her, so she splashed me with water." Damian laughed again.

"Ah, she should experience childbirth so she knows how invaluable the services of an ob-gyn are for pregnant women." Damian shrugged, as if he didn't want to bother defending that every doctor has taken an oath.

"Forget it, besides, I've never been interested in arranged marriages. Now can I know why the most popular girl in our high school suddenly contacted me and asked to meet?" Damian started asking about the core of our meeting, but I hesitated to speak up directly.

"Shouldn't we ask each other how we've been first?" I thought it had been eight years since we last met.

"Okay, how are you? How is your career and busyness at the moment?" Ask Damian, he always smiles and I believe he has a pretty good sense of humor.

"Well, this is me, I worked at a furniture company yesterday, but today I resigned." Damian furrowed his brows when he heard my words.

"Why resign?"

"Because I want to," I said briefly, and quite ambiguously.

"Yeah, it's not surprising actually, you can even make money just by being quiet. No need to bother working." Damian knows my family's background, it was no secret back in school, all the students knew who my parents were. But right now, I prefer to be free, live on my own, and earn my own money, but that doesn't mean my relationship with my parents is bad. I just decided to be independent, and they agreed.

"I want to be independent, Damian. I don't want to depend on anyone," I said earnestly, even though in reality, I failed to be independent and ended up meeting a jerk who ruined my life.

"That's good," Damian said briefly. When there was no more discussion, I started to tell the story slowly.

"I got your number from Lily, you remember her, right? Because Lily said you are an obgyn doctor now, so I came to consult with you," I finally said.

"Are you pregnant? I nodded.

"Isn't that good news? I will gladly help you with my knowledge," said Damian sincerely.

"But can you keep this a secret? Lily asked me to take care of this baby and check every moment. But I want to ask for your advice on safe abortion pills." I could see the look on Damian's face, slightly shocked and confused.

"I don't want to give birth to this baby. My boyfriend doesn't want to marry me, and I don't want to give birth to his child." Damian smiled sincerely, looking calming even though he also knew that my request was the biggest mistake. "Alright, I understand. In that case, I will recommend this medicine to you." Damian raised his hand, asking the waitress to come over to borrow a book and a pen.

"This is folic acid, this one is calcium and iron supplement, and this one is the dangerous one." Damian pointed to a series of drug names on the piece of paper. He said I would need a lot of blood later, and calcium is also important. Without waiting, we said our goodbyes and I hurried to the pharmacy to buy the medicine prescribed by Damian.

I am currently at the pharmacy, handing a piece of prescription paper from Damian to a female pharmacist. "Oh, is it a vitamin for the fetus, ma'am?" I widened my eyes, I asked again to make sure.

"What is this vitamin for?" I asked with a pounding heart, I didn't want to buy the wrong medicine, I would remain steadfast in my stance no matter what Lily said, that I only needed to ensure the baby was healthy and give birth, while Lily would take care of it until it grew up.

"Folic acid for the formation of the fetus to grow perfectly, this one is for strengthening the fetus." Damn! Damian lied to me.
