Chapter 7 The maid
“There is a garden.” I asked the maid and she smiled and I looked out through the kitchen window, it is beautiful though, but I didn't want to admit it
It’s my second day here and I have not being able to speak to my father, I needed to know what’s going on, this is unlike him and it scared me and Sarah is lying to me, there was nothing she didn’t want to tell me.
I have to ask Adrain to take me to meet my father, no matter how much I hated to do this.
I found myself heading into the garden, my breath hitches as I stared at the various fruits and vegetable.
I just needed an escape from his house, I have not seen him since last night, no one called me for breakfast, and which is good, yet the strong scent of his cologne filed everywhere and I hated every part of it.
“What are you doing here?.” I heard a voice form behind, I didn’t move, I knew it was him, I could hear his footsteps heading toward me.
“I just needed some fresh air.” I whispered. “Alone.” I added and he didn’t speak, instead he stood beside me.
He is like a pest I can’t rid off, is he not meant to be always busy because he is a mafia king and he should have a lot of work to do.
“Why are you here?.”
“It’s my home, I can be anywhere I choose to be.” He said.
“Do you always have to speak like that?.” I asked. “So stiff, so serious, like you have no emotions, like-“ I was about saying when I realized I could be speaking out of line.
I started to head toward the other side and he was coming up form behind too.
He intimidated me, he scared every part of me and I hated it, I hated that I am here.
I was about heading toward the other side when I stepped on something, a sting filled my body and a a curse falls out of my lips, my eyes turned to look at him as he stared at me.
Adrian crouched down and he placed my feet on his hand.
“What are you doing .”
“Not a word princess.” He said and I rolled my eyes at him, it’s annoying with the name, I have a name and it’s not princess.
He pulls out a piece of glass out of my feet, a whimper falls out of my lips as I stared at him, before he took me aback and instantly without giving me time to even realise what was happening, he carried me the bridal style.
“Adrian.”
“What were you thinking walking without a shoe?.”
“I-“ I was about saying when a soft air found its place to my feet and a whimper falls out of my lips.

He carried me into a room, it was his, there was a huge portrait of lion on the wall, there is a mirror on his ceiling and the room filled with his aura an darkness, my eyes were on his when he placed me on the bed and in a second, he found the first aid kit.
His room is much bigger than mine, he even had a book shelf, I didn’t strike him as someone that liked to read.
“Stay still.” Adrian stated and my eyes met his softly.
“I can do it myself.” I breathed out when I felt a sting on my bed as he wiped the blood.
“I didn’t ask”. He stated and I felt the urge to roll my eyes at him.
He didn’t even say a word to me until he finished everything, why did he take care of me, I half expected him to leave me to bleed and ask me to find the first aid kit as punishment, I didn’t think he would want to do this.
“Can I ask you something?.” I whispered. “Did you speak to my father since I came here.” I asked, hoping for a straight answer from me.
“Your father is a busy man.” He said, that’s not an answer.
“You did didn’t you, he called you right.” I asked as I stared at him.
“Elara- no he called you but he won’t call me, I tried to call him, I tried to reach out to him but he would not listen to me, he won’t even try to contact me, and he is my father.” I whispered cutting him off.
“He is dealing- I don’t care.” I cut him off again and his eyes met mine, I stood on my feet without caring if I am bleeding out.
“Sit.”
“You said I am not your solder, I don’t have to always listen to you so no.” I added as I stared at him. “You have no idea what it feels like.”
“I have an idea.”
“My father won’t speak to me, he has never done that before when even r we are at war and he would take me away to keep me safe; he called me every night to make sure I am fine, he called the day the war escalated because he was scared I may never see him again, you don’t know him like I do and now he never wants to speak to me.”
“He does- no.” I cut him off again and instantly his hand found its place wrapped around my neck, my breath hitches as I stared at him.
“Interrupt me again one more time Elara, when I speak you listen to me, you interrupt me once and it can be forgiven but not over and over again.” He said and I stared at him.
His eyes filled with anger.
“Tell me you understand.” He asked.
“I understand.” I lied when he unwrapped his hand around my brow and my eyes were on his. “If my father calls, you tell him that he should have called me.” I breathed out.
