Chapter 8 Oh no

“What is going on?.” I asked when the maids walked into my room, they didn’t say a word to me instead they headed into the closet, maybe to take out the clothes that were here before.

After my conversation with Adrian, I found myself hiding in my room, for the first time I showed someone I am vulnerable, it’s bad enough he thinks I am weak and now this, I didn’t like it, I hated it.

I headed to the closet to find then taking out a dress.

“Did Adrian ask you to come here and if he did why?.”

“He wants you to get ready.” The maid said and my eyes met hers, it is the same one I asked to leave, I could have cost her death that day but I didn’t.

“To”. I asked and she didn’t speak.

I marched my way out of the room, where I found Adrain settled in his bedroom, his eyes met mine, the moments I walked in.

“Leave and when coming him, you knock, and wait.” He said and his eyes detailed with anger.

Walking into someone took is wrong but he did the same with the maids, because I know he told them not to, they did as they wanted because of him.

I wanted to say no yet I didn’t.

I did as he said and I walked out of the room but this time, I didn’t knock, I walked away and into my room.

I got dressed into the blue dress they picked out for me, it reminded me of home when Sarah would pick out something for me to wear, and we would go back and forth about how if it were me I wood pick something bad because I hated picking out clothes.

I missed home.

I hated it even more that I have no idea how to leave.

“Where are we going Adrian?.” I asked, the moment I saw him head into the living room, I have being here for ten seconds, the maids fetched me out of my room shorty after I got dressed

“Work.” He said. “You studied law didn’t you.” He asked as I stared at him, “it time to put it into work.”

“You want me to work.”

“You didn’t go to school and work to get anything grades so you will stay home princess, you are going to put it to work, no woman of mine is dumb, you will be smart, you will work for what you went”. He said and my eyes met his

I always wanted to work, it didn’t matter if it was lead the mafia or anything else but pap didn’t like the idea of that, he always thought that I didn’t need to work because I have everything that I could never need.

“But papa.”

“He is nor here and this is not up to discussion, you are going to work.” He said and my eyes met his.

“How do you know? Why are you doing this?.” I asked, and he didn’t say anything, I had a feeling he knew me better than I could Ii imagine or he just shared of over work me and remind me that he has full control of me.

That could be it.

We didn’t go to the warehouse, we were at his company, it was large and filled with different staffs, he stood beside me at all times and he didn’t let me walk further, he didn’t hold my hand either which I thought is good.

“This is my office and you will be over there.” Adrain said, my work pace is right in front of his, he could see me, the only thing that separated was was a glass wall and there is a door leading to it from his office.

“You are like any staffs of mine, you have to work and get what you want, there are no favorites here.”

“Even if there were, I could never be one of yours..” I stated.

“You have no idea.” He smiled. “Get the work.”

I got files, documents and my computer set up, all these took ten minutes, it felt like had this planned for a long time, I did a few work, that I thought was great, most of which is easy because back home, sometimes papa allowed me to do his paperwork after I begged for it.

Each time I got stressed I would glance around and I would see him staring at me, I finally headed out of my office using the other door and I headed to the elevator.

“Do you know where I can find the finance department.” I asked a man who stood beside me.

“You are new.” He said and I smiled. “I am going right there at the moment.” He added. “I am Aaron.”

“Elara.” I smiled.

“That’s a beautiful name, never heard of it, I have a feeling Elara you and I are going to become very good friend and you will love being here.” He smiled.

What is he doing? I don’t think Adrain will approve this and I hated that I am living my life based on him but if Aaron has to ever survive then I can’t be seen speaking to him.

He leads me to the place where I was able to submit the file and he insisted on taking me back to my office, each step we took was antagonizing and it made me feel scared

Until we got to the door, I didn’t care even turn to see if Adrian is anywhere or if he is staring at us.

“Can I take you to lunch today, I can tell you more about the office so you will be able to figure out things.” Aaron asked.

“I am afraid she would have to say no to that and to any other invitation you have in mind” I heard a voice form behind and my breath hitches
