Chapter 2 Chapter 2

The next morning, Jewel woke up late because she was not able to sleep right away after she left her husband's room.

As she gets out of bed, Jewel goes directly to her husband's room, where she suddenly hears a strange noise inside. The noise is getting clearer as she draws near the room.

"T-thunder! Ahh, Fuck baby! Yeah, that's it! Fuck me harder. Oh sh*t," the woman claimed loudly.

"Oh, scream my name, bitch! Cum with me."

Her heart was tearing apart a gazillion times watching her husband make out with someone.

A few minutes later, she heard approaching footsteps, indicating that they were done doing their thing inside. She swiftly walked back to her room and pretended that she didn't know what was going on and that she had just woken up from bed.

The woman just looked at her and clung even more to her husband's arm, who seemed to care if she was there.

"Who is she, baby?" the woman asked Thunder.

"Don't mind her; she's just a maid," Thunder replied.

"Oh, I see," the woman mockingly said.

"What are you looking at? You're blocking my way!" she yelled and shoved her off.

She just steps back and stops herself to complain for fear that Thunder might get mad. They continue their way out as if she weren't there. Instead of following them, she just went back inside her room and laid down on her bed.

She looked around her room and noticed the picture of her and Thunder on their wedding day. The picture shows that she's very happy, while her husband is emotionless.

She got teary-eyed as she thought about Thunder and his woman a while ago.

"Even if it's breaking me apart, Thunder, I won't give up. I'll continue and endure everything because I love you," she muttered.

She still believes that they can have a happy ending, like in those love stories. As much as she could fight for their love, she would fight. She loves Thunder so much that she will do everything for him to love her back.

Later on, she felt starved. She remembered that she hadn't eaten since she woke up this morning, but she remembered that Thunder and his woman were still there.

She stayed and waited for a few minutes before deciding to get up, leave her room, and go downstairs. She roamed around and found no one; it looks like they already left. She just went straight to the kitchen to cook and prepare food for her to eat.

After she finished her food, she decided to clean the whole house. It was already afternoon when she finished cleaning and cooking food for dinner, but still, her husband is not home yet. She sat on the sofa because she felt so tired. She turns on the TV and watches some movie series. It was late at night, but still Thunder didn't come home, so instead of waiting for him, she just ate her dinner.

Later on, she heard the sound of a car, a sign that her husband was already home. She hurried to the door and opened it. As soon as she opened the door, the face of her husband appeared red and limp; he was drunk again.

She immediately approached him and held him for support, but he just pushed her away. "What did I tell you? Don't ever touch me!" Thunder shouted to her.

She ignored it and approached his husband again. She was about to touch him when he shouted at her again, "Damn it, Jewel! Don't you understand what I'm saying? Are you that stupid enough?" His voice roared like thunder inside the house.

She has no choice but to let him, because if she insists, it might be the reason for them to fight, and probably she'll get hurt. She waited a few minutes before going upstairs. She went to her husband's room to check if he was already asleep. She entered the room without making any noise and found her husband sleeping soundly. She drew near him, removed the shoes, and covered him with a blanket. She just stared at her husband's handsome face; she could only do it when Thunder was already asleep because, when he was awake, he was like a tiger that would devour her.

She caressed his face. "I'm still hoping, Thunder. I love you so much, and I'll do everything for you," she whispered.

She's still wondering what might happen to their marriage. She's clueless about every possible outcome, whether she could be happy, in pain, or achieve what she desires.

"I hope the day comes that you'll love me. I'll wait for that day, and when that day comes, I will probably be the happiest woman."

Not even once did she think of stepping aside and leaving her husband; even if everyone thought of her as a fool or stupid, she didn't care. She just loves her husband so much, and she believes that being hurt is part of love. As much as she can still hope, even if it's painful and tiring, she will take a risk.

She left the room and moved into her room. She lay down and stared at the ceiling unexpectedly. She remembered their first conversation the night after their wedding. They were at the hotel that night, and as soon as they entered the room, Thunder immediately overtook her arms harshly.

"Ouch! Thunder hurts!" she exclaimed in pain.

"Now what? Are you happy? Jewel, are you happy ruining my life?" He shouted in anger.

"I don't understand you, Thunder! What are you talking about?" Confusion is all over her face as he responds.

"Don't act like you don't know anything! I know you know what I'm referring to too!" he blurted out.

Anger and hatred lingered in Thunder's face; he almost hurt her, and it made her screech in fear while watching him.

"Thunder, it's our parents decision!" she exhorted.

He suddenly threw the chair near him. "Don't make me fool, Jewel! I know you like it too. I am not stupid! You have the right to disagree about his shit, but you refuse to do it!" he shouted in frustration.

"I won't give disgrace and embarrassment to my family, Thunder! I don't want them to be disappointed in me. Why didn't you do it? You can refuse and not come to the wedding!" she answered.

"Then what? Do you want my family to look bad?" he sarcastically said.

"It's already done, Thunder! The wedding is already done, and we can't do anything about it!" she said.

"You really wanted this marriage, right? Do you think I didn't know that you loved me? That's why you agreed to this quickly as soon as they told you that you'd be marrying me."

She bent down her head so that she couldn't see Thunder's face, which was already burning with anger. Now she knew that Thunder already knew what she felt about him.

"Don't expect that I will love you back, Jewel. It will never happen, put that in your small mind," he said before leaving her in their hotel suite.

It was the day that he put all the blame on me. Yes, I wanted to get married to him, so when our parents agreed about it, I didn't refuse.

She released a deep sigh as he remembered all of it. Here she is suffering, but if it's for the person she loves, she can take it all because she knows that all her sacrifices will be paid for someday.

Drowsiness visited her as soon as she closed her eyes.
