Chapter 8 Chapter 8

Jewel POV

I woke up early and prepared breakfast for my husband.

"Good morning! I prepared breakfast and some coffee." I smiled.

Thunder never bothered to pay attention to me and immediately sat down and ate. "What are you looking at? Do you have plans to eat?" he said irritably.

"Don't mind me. I'm still full; just continue eating," I replied.

He just shook his head. As soon as he finished eating, he stood up and took the coffee with him to the living room.

A big smile formed on my lips as soon as Thunder left. As soon as I'm done with all my work, I immediately go back to my room to take a bath.

We will leave the house at 11:00 a.m. I couldn't understand why I felt uneasy looking at myself in the mirror when I knew that I had these tight bonds with the Thunders family. After a few minutes, I heard my husband knocking on the door. "Are you done? We need to go."

"Yes," I replied.

"Hurry up! I don't want to be late."

I quickly took my small sling bag and hurriedly followed him.

"What are you thinking?" Thunder hastily asked.

"How's it dark?" I don't know why that thing came to my mouth.

Thunder's forehead furrowed because of my questions. "Why did you ask?"

"I'm just thinking about Calliyah," I answered.

Thunder's expression suddenly went back to normal. "He's also in pain."

"He deserves it! After what he did to my best friend? He's an asshole!" I said in displeasure.

"Stop being judgmental. Dark has a reason why he did that." Thunder defended his friend.I just rolled her eyes.

We arrived at the restaurant, and we went directly inside.

"How are you?" Red suddenly asked, looking at Thunder mockingly.

"We're okay," Thunder said briefly, a teasing smile still plastered on Red's lips.

I saw that my husband's expression had darkened, and I tried to calm him.

While waiting for our ordered food, Aunt Celestine suddenly talks. "When will you both plan on giving your parent's a grandchild, Thunder? She's longing for a kid because you are already married and you don't have any siblings."

"Exactly, Celestine, I already asked them about it.

They've been married for a year, but still, I haven't heard them talk about my grandchild," Thunder's mother indulged.

I noticed a faint laugh on Red's lips that made Thunder form a fist while staring at him sharply.

"Just wait for it, Aunt. I think they are not yet ready for that," Red teasingly said.

"Why? There is nothing wrong if they will have a child since they are already married, and my son can provide for his family needs."

Thunder gazed even sharper at his cousin Red.

"Mom, don't be in a hurry! We'll work on it."

Thunder looked at me. He even held her hand and planted a soft kiss on it.

Thunder POV

I really wanted to punch my cousin. I know that he is testing my patience, and I will not allow him to win.

FLASHBACK...

"We'll be having lunch tomorrow," Red said.

"So what?" I replied.

"Nothing, just asking. I know that you and Jewel are not a typical normal married couple. You know what I mean. I really don't know why you hate her.

She's pretty and kind. If she's not married, I probably courted her."

I felt a sudden irritation as I heard what my cousin said. I can't understand why I felt that kind of emotion when I heard another man admiring my wife.

"Damn you, asshole! Stop messing around with my wife." I emphasized every word I said.

Red laughed. "Just kidding. Why are you acting like that when in fact you despise her? You don't want her to leave, then why did you keep on hurting her? You're blinded by your anger, so you didn't notice how beautiful, caring, and loving Jewel is. I'm sure you'll regret it when she finds someone who will treat her better—a man who will give her what she deserves."

"You know how much I hate her; she takes away my freedom, and in exchange, I will make her suffer."

Red just shook his head in disbelief. "I don't get you; Jewel is the perfect package that every man wants. It's so rare to find a woman like her."

Jewel is mine! Mine alone! I won't let her be happy!
