30 Days to Reject the Alpha
Jessie Love · Completed · 49.7k Words
Introduction
"Potential husbands for your daughter, you mean?" I retort. "The way you used Mom to make an alliance before casting her aside when your 'true mate' appeared."
I cast a disdainful glance at Lisa, my father's 'true mate'. Her smile tightens but, for once, she doesn't speak.
"Mind your tone," my father snarls a warning, "At least your mother knew her place. You would do well to remember yours."
"My place? Is that what you call this? So you're grooming me to be like Mom. To be used and then thrown away when a prettier option appears?"
"That's enough!" My father grinds his teeth. "You will do exactly what I say for once. You'll meet whoever I want you to meet. You'll play nice and do what's best for the pack."
"I'm not going to repeat your mistake, I'm not going to end up like Mom!"
Emma, the daughter of the Alpha of the SilverPine Pack, grew up witnessing her father secure power through a political marriage to her mother. But when he found his true mate, he reduced Emma's mother to a slave and allowed Lisa to humiliate and torment her. This painful experience made Emma swear never to repeat the same fate or become a sacrifice for pack alliances.
Forced to attend the Choosing Party by her father, Emma rebels and escapes, unexpectedly sharing a one night stand with Ethan, Alpha of the IronClaw Pack. What she thought was a fleeting encounter shocks her when she discovers Ethan is the very match her father arranged for her.
Though drawn to Ethan, the shadow of her mother's suffering haunts Emma. She vows to find her true mate within 30 days or... do whatever it takes to make Ethan willingly give up the marriage...
Chapter 1
Emma POV
My eyes scan the room. I know somewhere in the crowd is the man my father plans to force on me. Not one of them is the man I'd choose for myself. If only I could find my destined mate.
At twenty five I'm long past the age of mating. Most of my pack members found their mates by the time they came of age at eighteen. I'd hoped by the time my wolf came in my mate would show himself.
My wolf, Lexi sighs in my mind, she is even more desperate for our mate to arrive.
"We can't wait much longer for him," she says.
"I know, Lexi." The longer we go without mating, the wilder Lexi will become until she is little more than an animal.
Not for the first time, I wonder what is wrong with me. Why can't I find the one I'm meant to be with?
Trying to take my mind off of my mate, I turn my attention back to the party. The bodies in the room match the hastening rhythm of the music, the heavy bass pounds in my head. The room spins a little as panic sets in.
I can't be mated to someone I don't love, not like my father. He was forced to marry my mother, only to turn his back on her when his true mate revealed herself. He'd indulged his new mate, allowing her to torment my poor mother.
And there he is. Ronan Jackson, Alpha of the SilverPine Pack, and my father. In his arms, his mate, the raven haired beauty, Lisa. The woman my dad chose over my mother. As for my mother, poor Rhea is languishing in the servant quarters at the SilverPine Mansion. As a Luna, she should be here at the party. But my father and his mate can't risk reminding the crowd of the fact that his Luna is little more than a slave to his mate. I won't allow myself to repeat history. I won't mate for convenience or political power.
"You're late." Lisa appears out of nowhere by my side. Her eyes sweep over my dress. "At least you managed to wear something half decent."
"I'm not here to impress you," the words are out of my mouth before I can stop them.
My father joins us and says, with a sigh, "Emma, this is a big night for the pack. Stop acting like a brat and listen to Lisa." He casts a loving eye on her that makes my stomach churn. "The Alphas gathered here tonight could be important potential allies. You need to make a good impression."
"Potential husbands for your daughter, you mean?" I retort. "The way you used Mom to make an alliance before casting her aside when your 'true mate' appeared."
I cast a disdainful glance at Lisa. Her smile tightens but, for once, she doesn't speak.
"Mind your tone," my father snarls a warning, with a growl from his wolf. "At least your mother knew her place. You would do well to remember yours."
"My place? Is that what you call this? So you're grooming me to be like Mom. To be used and then thrown away when a prettier option appears?"
"That's enough!" My father grinds his teeth, and I see a little blood where his fangs dig into his lip. "You know all too well this is the way of our kind. You are of age and yet you still behave like a child. It's time for you to step up to your responsibilities instead of chasing childhood fantasies."
Lisa steps in between us. "You should be grateful. Do you think most unmated she-wolves get this kind of attention?"
Heat rises in my face and my heart pounds in my ears. I try to keep my composure, loathe to let her see she's hit a sore spot. "If that's supposed to make me feel happy about this, it doesn't."
"I didn't think it would."
My father pushes his way between us. "You will do exactly what I say for once. You'll meet whoever I want you to meet. You'll play nice and do what's best for the pack."
"I'm not going to repeat your mistake," I whisper through clenched teeth. "I'm not going to end up like Mom."
Without waiting for a reply, I turn on my heel and push through the crowd. The music and voices are a blur as I make my way outside, desperate for air.
Out in the fresh night air, I take a deep, cleansing breath, feeling peace wash over me. I'm not going to play my father's game. He's thrown this choosing party as part of his plan to find the best match for me. Not that he cares about me. I doubt he even loves me, not really. I'm nothing more than a political pawn in his quest for pack supremacy. Aligning with a powerful pack would make the SilverPine Pack the most influential in the city. He won't care if such a joining made me miserable.
I head toward the hatchback I'd parked just down the lane. Hearing footsteps I freeze a few feet from my vehicle. Something makes the hairs on my arm stand up on end.
"Find him. Kill him." The voice is deep. Primal. It stuns me to the core. Kill who? Who is this man going to have killed?
Coming back to myself, I take a final step, reaching out to unlock the car door. Once in the driver seat, I duck down and peer in the rearview mirror to try to get a view of the man who spoke those unsettling words. Even with his back turned, I can see he cuts an impressive figure. Everything about him screams wealth and power, from his designer shoes to his well cut, tailored suit. It's not his expensive taste that impresses the most. The body that fills his designer clothes is strong and powerful. The thick neck, wide shoulders that taper down to sturdy hips, and well muscled legs hint at hours spent at the gym. I can only imagine what his face looks like. I picture a strong jawline, piercing eyes, and prominent cheekbones.
In a mental fog, I place my hand down on the car lock. In an instant, I realize my mistake. The shrill locking sound cries out in the still and quiet night like a beacon. He turns to face me with eyes that are indeed piercing.
He's at the passenger side in seconds. I hurry, fumbling and breathing heavily, to start the engine.
That deep, gravelly voice seems inhumanly loud as if it's in my head, not outside the window. "Open the door."

The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

The mafia princess return
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

Falling For The Biker: The Vice President's Girl
His eyes darken, flicking to my mouth.
"It's wrong. Your brother would slit my throat for just standing this close. But tell me, little bird" his breath ghosts my skin, "are you trembling because you hate me… or because you've wanted this just as much as I have?"
Wren thought she'd buried the chaos of New Orleans for good—the clubs, the blood-soaked loyalties, the men who lived and died by their kuttes. Seattle gave her everything she ever wanted: freedom, love, a future.
But one betrayal shatters it all.
Dragged home by tragedy, Wren finds herself under the watchful eye of Ezra Jax—the Raven Reapers MC's vice president and her brother's best friend. He's infuriating, dangerous, and far too tempting for a man she should never touch.
And the deeper Wren is pulled back into his world, the more she realizes nothing about her past—or about Ezra—is what she believed.
In the chaos of gang wars, mounting debts, and old betrayals, he becomes the one constant. The more she fights him, the harder she falls. And the more he pushes her away, the more lethal his pull becomes.
Because in this world, love isn't sweet.
It's brutal. Bloody.
And it's bound to break them both.
When loyalty is everything and love can cost your life, will Wren risk her heart on the one man she was never meant to love?
The Lycan Kings and the White Wolf.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
