Chapter 5 Stay Away From My Sister.

Asher's POV

“I am not gonna be sharing a room with Roman. There's a guest room, he can use that!” I complained in frustration but Roman simply strutted past me with a grin on his lips.

“He could stay in the guest room but his sister has to stay there. You're both grown-ups, if you're gonna kill yourselves, then do it in your room.” Father said in annoyance and my brows furrowed just slightly.

I had forgotten that Roman had an older sister who stayed abroad for her studies. But I've never seen her before as she spent most of her life abroad and with her dad after their parents’ separation.

“Is she gonna be living with us?” I asked with raised brows and Vera nodded with a smile.

“She has to be present for the wedding as well. So she has to use the guest room. You wouldn't mind staying with Roman in the same room for a short period of time, right?” She said to me softly, taking my hand and I couldn't help but wonder why she was so nice to me.

“If he doesn't kill me, I guess it's fine,” I muttered, making her face light up in happiness.

It was odd. But she reminded me of my mother a lot.

“Show Roman your room and settle in, then come down for dinner,” Father said coldly as Vera let go of my hand and walked over to him.

I made my way upstairs and walked to my room with my shoulders slumped, annoyance and frustration bubbling within me. How was I going to avoid this asshole if we were sleeping in the same room?

And—

I opened the door as my heart sank into my stomach. I was right. There was only one king-sized bed, and we would be sleeping on it together as well.

“You must be excited to share this room with me, stepbrother,” Roman said from behind me, his breath fanning my neck and I jolted immediately.

“Don't call me that!” I spat in anger, glaring at him. “If I had a choice, I'd rather sleep on the couch or share a room with your sister. Anything to be far away from you.” I added and his eyes narrowed at me, making me wonder what I said wrong.

He suddenly took multiple steps toward me while I stepped backwards as he slammed the door shut.

“You'd better stay the hell away from my sister, Asher.” He said, his voice serious as he looked down at me, making me smirk in satisfaction.

“Why? Are you scared she would fall in love with me? I'm irresistible and charming, I won't be surprised.” I muttered with a grin but when he took even more steps closer, I panicked as my back hit the wall.

He slammed his hand on the wall right beside my head, making me flinch.

I hated seeing him so serious, it was quite annoying. And terrifying.

“I won't repeat myself twice. You better stay the fuck away from my sister. You don't want to know what I will do to you.” He said, his voice stern and cold, and I almost cowered in front of him.

But I won't give him that satisfaction.

“Or what?”

“Who knows?” He said with a scoff as he leaned closer to me. “I could suffocate you while you sleep. Or I could pin you down and fuck you into submission. You seem to like that a lot.” He whispered, a smirk forming on his lips as he slid his hand down to my waist.

“You fucking asshole.” I hissed as I slapped his hand off me and pushed him backwards. “I will make you pay for taking advantage of me last night, Roman.”

“Oh, I'm scared.” He muttered with a sick grin. “You liked it. Did you also forget that?”

“Fuck you!”

“Wanna try?” He asked in amusement and I flinched in horror. “You sounded so obedient last night. You don't remember? I'll remind you. It was all ‘Roman, please~ More, please~ Oh, Roman—”

“Damnit, go to hell, Roman!” I yelled in embarrassment as he pushed him aside and stormed out of the room, my face burning red.

How could I have let my guard down so much? How did I let myself get taken advantage of to the point where I begged for more?

He couldn't even be that good!

I rushed downstairs and saw Vera and Jordan acting all lovey-dovey by the dining table. The sight almost made me puke and as soon as they saw me, they immediately pulled apart.

“You're just in time for dinner,” Vera said with a shy smile but I sighed in frustration as I shook my head.

“I'm not hungry,” I said as I walked to the door and swung it open.

“Where do you think you're going? It's late!” I heard Father's voice, but I ignored him and made my way to the gate, signalling for the guard to open it.

Just then, the doorbell rang and I frowned. It was late, who would be here at such a time of night?

As soon as the gate opened, a gorgeous lady stepped in, her blonde hair moving with the wind to cover her face for a second. But as soon as she moved it from her face, I froze.

Christ, she was gorgeous.

She saw me standing there like an idiot and her lips curled just slightly as she waved at me.

“You must be Asher.” She spoke, her voice like silk and I blinked back to reality. “Hi, I'm Sophia. Roman's sister.”

This beautiful goddess was that asshole's sister?

“H-hi, nice to meet you.” I stuttered for a moment before waving back awkwardly and she chuckled. “I didn't expect you to come tonight. Forgive me for not recognising you earlier.”

She waved it off as she followed behind me and I walked back into the house. Vera stood up immediately as she saw Sophia and pulled her into a hug.

“How did you know she was out there?” Father asked me and I simply shrugged with a grin.

I didn't know. I guess this is what telepathy is called. Maybe we were bound to be soulmates.

“Welcome to the family, Sophia.” I heard my dad say as he pulled her to a friendly hug and she smiled at him.

“You have a lovely house, sir— I mean, Dad.” She said with a soft smile and I could see how satisfied my dad looked at that moment.

“Where's Roman?” She asked and I turned upstairs to see Roman standing at the top of the stairs, a blank expression on his face as he looked down at us.

Then without a word, he turned around and left.

What was that about?
