Kayla Brawner · Completed · 229.3k Words
Introduction
Brian Merrimack is everything a woman should run from: a ruthless alpha with a dark secret and a lethal family. To him, the world isn't black and white, but shades of gray where justice is delivered from the barrel of a gun. Faith is everything he shouldn't want: innocent, trapped, and desperately trying to shield her siblings from their abusive father.
Their chance meeting in a Florida elevator ignites an obsession. Brian sees a woman in need of his unique brand of protection; Faith sees a dangerous temptation that could shatter her fragile world. As she's drawn into his shadowy life, she's forced to question every moral line she's ever drawn.
But when her father's cruelty reaches unspeakable depths, Faith must make a choice: cling to the remains of her old life, or willingly embrace the darkness in the man she loves. Can Brian's dangerous love truly conquer all, or will the violence of his world destroy the very people he's sworn to protect?

“I can’t believe you’re getting married,” I said, clapping my little brother Jason on the back.
He grinned, giving me a quick hug as we got on the elevator. "You know, Brian, you will find someone when you do, you'll know it. I remember the first time I met Emily, I knew I didn't want to spend a day without her."
"I know, I just can't help but feel like I'm running out of time."
As we rode down to the lobby, the elevator stopped on the eighteenth floor, and a nice-looking brunette girl got in. She wore a red V-neck top that accentuated her dark hair. Her legs looked perfect in her skinny jeans. She was beautiful in a way that made the air feel thin.
"Hello.", I said, intrigued by her.
She looked at me and smiled, and then quietly stayed to herself until the doors opened onto the lobby. This made her more interesting to me, and I had to talk to her.
As she moved to leave, I reached out. “Hey. My name is...”
“Faith!”
The roar cut across the marble hall. A thick-necked man stood by the fountain, face flushed. “What the hell do you think you're doing! Get over here! Now!”
She flinched. Her eyes went wide, deer-in-headlights. "I..I'm sorry I can't. Maybe later,” she whispered to me, and hurried toward that stocky-built man whom I assumed was her father.
“What the hell was that about?” Jason muttered as we walked towards the exit.
“I don’t know,” I said, my fists clenched at my sides. “But I’d like to.”
I could hear her father yelling across the lobby. He looked like a big buff man that wouldn't take shit from anyone, including his kids. He had his chest puffed out for intimidation, and it was working. I could see Faith's eyes were wide with terror, and her hands were trembling as she tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear.
"Faith, are you this late for your college classes? When I say five o'clock sharp, I mean five o'clock. Not five before five or five after,” he snapped.
"Sorry daddy, it won't happen again.” she mumbled, looking down at her shoes. My fists had been clenched as I hadn't realized how much the situation enraged me. She looked innocent and he had berated her in front of the entire lobby. I felt a tap on my shoulder bringing me back.
"Are you coming bro?” Jason said with an irritated look.
I brushed his hand away and felt annoyed because he knew why I was in a trance. He just didn’t want to get into it right now because Emily would kick his ass if he was late. He was just as equally as bothered by this entire thing as I was.
"Yeah, let's go."
As I drove us I sat and thought about Faith. Something about her made me want to protect her. She was an adult, but still was treated like a child by her father as her mother and siblings stood by and watched the abuse. I'm sure the younger siblings had no choice, but the older ones did. They couldn't all still live under his roof and could do something about it.
Brian!” I heard Jason yelling."The restaurant is right here you are going to miss it."
He gave me an annoyed look as I made a quick turn into the parking lot. I pulled up to the valet and we got out in front of the restaurant. It was some fancy gourmet place I wouldn’t have ever chosen in my life, but Jason wanted everything to be perfect for Emily which I understood. Before walking through the doors Jason put his hand on my shoulder stopping me from opening the doors.
"Tell me.", he said, his attitude turning from annoyed to concerned," are you okay?"
"I'm fine.” I lied because I was not fine. I couldn't get Faith and her situation out of my mind.
"No you're not. You're thinking of that girl."
“Yes maybe, but mostly I'm just trying to prepare my best man speech for tomorrow."
Jason chuckled, “I’m sure it will be great whatever you come up with."
"Thanks bro.", I said as we headed inside.
Dinner went off without a hitch and everyone decided to go back to their hotel rooms for sleep. No time for a bachelor party because the wedding began at ten the next day and everyone needed their beauty sleep.
Once back at the hotel I decided to go to the bar for a drink and try to get Faith out of my head so I could actually prepare my best man speech. As I sat at the bar mentally trying to remember every word I was going to say I felt someone sit next to me.
A scent of night-blooming jasmine, sharp and sweet, cut through the bar’s haze. A voice ordered, “Jack. Neat.”

George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The War God Alpha's Arranged Bride
Yet Alexander made his decision clear to the world: “Evelyn is the only woman I will ever marry.”
Invisible To Her Bully
My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate
My drunk stepfather remained indifferent, his weight suffocating, making it hard to breathe as my heart raced.

"Get off her!" a deafening roar echoed.
I didn't expect the twin brothers who'd bullied me at school to come charging in like gods to save me.
After my grandmother passed, I had to move in with my mom and stepdad, who treated me like a servant. I prayed every day for my 18th birthday to come, so l could leave and escape this broken home.
However, on my first day at my new school, l encountered the legendary twins everyone feared.
To make matters worse, the Moon Goddess revealed they were both my mates!
After helping me out with my stepdad, my twin mate cornered me, played with my hair, and whispered possessively, "You belong to us, our little mate..."
