Introduction
"Yes... ours."
"How dare you step into this house with that child? You've disgraced me. Don't stand there and pretend that bastard is mine."
Four years of loyalty. Four years of trust. Four years believing a marriage built on paper could turn into love. He repaid her with lies, betrayal, and cruelty so complete it destroyed her world. Her child, her husband, her family, and even her reputation were taken from her.
"Marry me."
"You think marrying you will fix this?"
"I think marrying me will give you the power to take it all back, everything they stole."
Betrayed and broken, Claire hits rock bottom. When Julian saves her from a near-fatal accident, he offers a shocking proposal. She is to marry him not for love but to join forces in taking down her ex husband and the family that betrayed them both. With a new identity, a shocking public appearance, and a carefully plotted comeback, Claire begins reclaiming everything she lost, including her life and her dreams. Along the way, she discovers the warmth beneath Julian's cold exterior and a love that grows from trust and shared pain.
She is not broken. She is awakened. When she comes back, it will not be with tears or pleas. It will be to reclaim everything. Can revenge heal a heart betrayed so completely, or will the past consume her before she can rise?
Chapter 1
CLAIRE
The pregnancy test sat heavy in my purse, a secret I'd carried all day like a fragile egg, two pink lines, clear as the day. I pressed a hand to my still-flat stomach as I stood outside Ethan's study, trying to steady my breathing.
Four years... Four years of hoping, waiting, believing that one day he'd look at me the way husbands in movies looked at their wives. That the cold, contract marriage our parents arranged would melt into something real, maybe this baby would be the bridge, maybe this would finally make us a family.
I knocked softly.
"Come in."
His voice was clipped, distracted. I pushed the door open and found him behind his massive desk, eyes glued to his laptop screen, he didn't look up.
"Ethan," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
"What is it, Claire? I'm busy."
My hands trembled as I stepped closer. "I... I need to talk to you. It's important."
He sighed, the kind of sigh that said I was an inconvenience. Still, he closed his laptop and leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. "Make it quick."
I swallowed hard, trying to find the words I'd rehearsed a hundred times in my head. "I went to the doctor today."
His eyebrow arched. "Are you sick?"
"No. No, I'm not sick." I took a breath, forcing a small smile. "I'm pregnant."
The silence that followed was deafening, he didn't move, didn't react at all. Just stared at me like I'd spoken in a foreign language.
"Ethan?" My voice cracked. "Did you hear me? We're going to have a baby."
His jaw tightened. Slowly, he stood up, his chair scraping against the hardwood floor. The look in his eyes... cold, hard, sharp as broken glass... made my stomach drop.
"How dare you," he said quietly.
I blinked. "What?"
"How dare you step into this house with that child?"
The words hit me like a punch to the gut. I stumbled back a step, gripping the edge of his desk to steady myself. "Ethan, what are you..."
"Don't." His voice was low, dangerous. He moved around the desk toward me, and I instinctively backed up. "Don't insult my intelligence, Claire. Don't stand there and pretend that bastard is mine."
"Bastard?" My voice broke. "Ethan, this is our baby. Ours. I don't understand why you're..."
The slap came so fast I didn't see it coming. My head snapped to the side, pain exploding across my cheek. I gasped, stumbling, my hand flying up to my face. The sting was sharp, hot, spreading like fire under my skin.
I looked up at him, tears already blurring my vision. "You... you hit me."
"You've disgraced me," he spat, his face twisted with disgust. "Do you think I'm a fool? Do you think I don't know what you've been doing behind my back?"
"I haven't done anything!" My voice rose, panic clawing at my chest. "Ethan, I swear to you, I haven't..."
He turned away from me, walking back to his desk. He opened a drawer and pulled out a manila folder. My heart pounded as he threw it onto the desk in front of me.
"Open it."
My hands shook as I reached for the folder. I didn't want to, every instinct screamed at me to run, to leave, to get out of this room, but I opened it anyway, photos spilled out onto the desk, me in a hotel room with a man... No, not just any man.
His stepbrother.
My breath caught in my throat. I grabbed one of the photos, staring at it in disbelief. It showed me leaning close to Julian, his hand on my waist, my face turned toward his like we were about to kiss. The timestamp in the corner read three weeks ago.
"No," I whispered. "No, this isn't... this didn't happen."
"Don't lie to me!" Ethan's voice thundered through the room. I flinched, clutching the photo with trembling hands. "I have proof, Claire. Timestamps. Locations, everything."
"But I was never at this hotel! Ethan, I swear, I've never..." My voice broke into a sob. "I would never do this to you. I love you."
He laughed coldly. "Love? You don't know the meaning of the word."
Tears streamed down my face as I looked at the other photos, different angles, different moments. All of them showing me and Julian together in ways that looked... intimate.
But I'd never been there. I'd never touched Julian like that, I barely even spoke to him.
"This isn't real," I choked out. "Someone did this. Someone set me up, Ethan, please, you have to believe me..."
"Get out."
I looked up at him, my vision swimming. "What?"
"Get. Out." His voice was ice. No anger now. Just cold, emotionless finality. "Pack your things. I want you out of this house tonight."
"Ethan, please..." I reached for him, but he jerked away like my touch burned him.
"Don't touch me," he hissed. "You disgust me."
The words shattered something inside me. I stood there, frozen, my whole body shaking. This couldn't be happening, this wasn't real, it was a nightmare. It had to be.
"I gave you everything," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "Four years, Ethan. Four years of my life. I believed in you, i trusted you. I loved you."
His expression didn't change. "And you repaid me by spreading your legs for my stepbrother."
I flinched like he'd slapped me again. He turned away, walking toward the door. "Security will escort you out. Take only what's yours. If you're not gone in an hour, I'll have you removed by force."
"Ethan..."
He stopped at the doorway, his back to me. For a moment, I thought he might turn around, might look at me, might see the truth written all over my face. But he didn't.
"I never want to see you again," he said. And then he was gone.
I stood there in the silence, the photos scattered across the desk like pieces of a life I didn't recognize. My legs gave out, and I sank to the floor, my hand pressed to my stomach.
An hour later, I stood outside the gate of the house I'd called home for four years, a single suitcase at my feet, the security guard wouldn't even look at me as he locked the gate behind me.
The night air was cold, biting through my thin sweater. I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to hold the pieces together. But I couldn't.
I couldn't stop shaking, couldn't stop the tears. Couldn't stop seeing the hatred in Ethan's eyes when he looked at me. I pressed a hand to my cheek, where his handprint still burned.
And I realized, standing there alone in the dark, that the man I'd loved for four years had never loved me back. He'd just been waiting for an excuse to throw me away, and now he had one.

Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully
My back hit the desk. Pain exploded through my skull.
"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.
Someone... please...

The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."

The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
