I'm Done Loving Him
Agatha Christie · Completed · 7.3k Words
Introduction
Ethan Sullivan—uncrowned king of New York's underworld, cold-blooded killer. Complete opposite of her life-saving profession.
She fought desperately—humiliated him at their engagement, sabotaged business meetings, even escaped at midnight. Ethan never got angry, just quietly cleaned up, growing more gentle and devoted.
Until rival families shot at them. He shielded her with his body, blood soaking his white shirt, still comforting her: "It's okay. I'm here."
Sophia fell completely.
"I'll marry you," she told him in his hospital bed, "but tell me—do you really love me?"
Ethan nodded without hesitation: "I love you. You're the first and only one."
After marriage, Sophia enjoyed sweet life as a mafia wife. Until she learned Ethan's "sister" Isabella had leukemia. When her bone marrow matched, she donated without hesitation, thinking this proved their love.
Until tonight's party. A drunk lieutenant asked: "Boss, what's your biggest regret in life?"
Ethan was silent for a long moment: "Giving up the woman I loved."
Chapter 1
Sophia's POV
"Giving up the woman I loved."
I froze outside the private room door, my blood turning to ice. He LIED to me? There's someone else in his heart? But he told me "I love you, only you"!
I was about to storm in and confront him when one of his men rushed to Ethan's side, whispering urgently in his ear.
Ethan's face went white. He shot up, grabbed his coat, and bolted for the door.
"Boss! The project celebration isn't over yet!" Marco shouted behind him.
"Isabella's condition is getting worse!" Ethan yelled back without turning around. "Get the car ready NOW! Saint Mary's Hospital!"
Isabella? His adopted sister?
I quickly ducked behind a pillar, watching Ethan speed off in his black Rolls-Royce. I immediately got in my car and followed.
The car stopped at Manhattan's finest private hospital—Saint Mary's Medical Center.
Ethan rushed in with his bodyguards while I trailed far behind, hiding in a corner outside the emergency room.
Through the glass window, I saw Isabella lying on the hospital bed, pale as death, blood at the corner of her mouth.
"Doctor! Save her! She CAN'T die!" Ethan charged to the emergency room door, his voice shaking.
The attending physician removed his mask. "Mr. Sullivan, the patient has lost too much blood. We're doing everything we can, but..."
"But WHAT?!" Ethan grabbed the doctor's collar. "Tell me straight!"
"The rejection reaction after transplant is worse than expected. Her condition is very unstable. She needs immediate blood transfusion, but her current state..."
The emergency room door opened. A nurse wheeled out the bed. Isabella weakly opened her eyes, saw Ethan, and immediately started crying.
"Ethan... I'm so scared... if I die..."
Ethan instantly rushed to her side, gripping her hand tightly. "Don't say that! I won't let you die! I promised your father I'd protect you for LIFE!"
In that moment, I saw true fear and love in his eyes—a depth I'd never seen when he looked at me.
When he looked at me, it was always gentle and calm. When handling family business, cold and rational. Only when looking at Isabella did he show this softness and desperation I'd never witnessed before.
Hiding in the corner, I dug my nails deep into my palms.
He could show such vulnerability for another woman!
On the drive home, I sat alone in my car, my mind spinning.
Countless memory fragments started reassembling: Why did he care so much about Isabella's condition? Why did he stay out all night every time Isabella was hospitalized?
I'd always thought he and Isabella were just adopted siblings—Isabella's father Michael Walsh died saving Ethan in a gang war, so Ethan had been taking care of her ever since.
When I learned she had leukemia and needed a bone marrow transplant, I didn't hesitate to get tested. When I found out I was a match, I even thought it was fate.
I voluntarily donated my bone marrow to save her life, thinking it proved my love for my husband.
Now I realize how STUPID I was!
My phone buzzed. A text from Ethan: "Sophia, sorry, I have an emergency to handle. Won't be coming home tonight. Get some rest."
Emergency? He's lying AGAIN!
I stared at that text, my heart feeling like it was being slowly carved by a dull knife.
The next day, I went to the hospital for a follow-up check on my post-donation recovery. Walking out of the hematology department after my tests, I ran right into Isabella stepping out of the elevator.
She looked much better than last night, some color back in her face.
"Sophia!" She called out, a meaningful smile spreading across her face. "What a coincidence."
I stopped. "Isabella, you look much better."
"Yes, thanks to your bone marrow." She approached me, a cold glint flashing in her eyes. "But, Sophia..."
She paused, then sneered. "Do you really think Ethan loves you?"
My whole body shook. "What do you mean?"
Isabella laughed coldly. "I thought you were supposed to be smart—Harvard medical doctorate and all. Didn't think you'd be so easily fooled."
"What exactly are you trying to say?"
"Want to know why Ethan married you?" she said slowly. "It wasn't for the family alliance, and it definitely wasn't for love. It was for your blood."
"What?"
"RH-negative AB blood type. Only 0.6% of people worldwide have it." Isabella's smile turned cruel. "And I happen to need bone marrow from exactly that rare blood type to stay alive."
I felt the whole world spinning, had to lean against the wall to keep from falling.
"You think it was coincidence?" Isabella continued. "Ethan investigated all your records long ago, including your blood type. The marriage alliance was just the perfect cover. What he really needed from the very beginning was the bone marrow in your body!"
"That's impossible..." I shook my head, trembling. "He said he loved me..."
"The one he loves is ME!" Isabella burst out laughing. "Since we were kids, it's always been me! If I hadn't gotten sick, we would've been married already!"
"You two... were together before?"
"Of course." Isabella gently touched the ring on her finger. "This is the engagement ring he gave me. Even though we couldn't marry because of my illness, he promised he'd take care of me for life."
Finally, I understood.
"Oh, and," Isabella looked at my ashen face, triumph gleaming in her eyes, "don't blame your father for not telling you the truth. After all, this kind of thing..."
I jerked my head up. "My father?"
Isabella realized she'd said too much, but then resumed her cold smile. "Since we've gotten this far, go ask him yourself."
I stared at Isabella, my gaze turning ice-cold.
If all of this was true, if even my father was part of this deception...
"Then I'll divorce Ethan immediately." I said fiercely. "Let you two LOVEBIRDS enjoy your romance."
With that, I turned and walked away without another glance at her.

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
