Chapter 3
“Lena,” Luca’s voice was deep and steady, breaking through my thoughts. “You’ve made your decision. It’s time to start acting.”
I looked at him, my heartbeat quickening.
At this moment, I felt a mixture of anxiety and resolve.
Luca, the man who I had once considered a friend, a member of the family, now stood before me with a presence I had never fully understood before.
His calm demeanor had always hidden something more. Was he truly helping me, or was there something else he was after?
He had been by my side, helping me escape from Ethan’s shadow, giving me the strength I needed for revenge.
Luca, who appeared so composed, had laid out every step, every detail, and every move for me.
But despite all that, a small unease gnawed at my gut.
What if he wasn’t helping me out of pure loyalty? What if he had his own reasons?
“You want me to take action now, don’t you, Luca?” I asked, my voice low, as I tried to steady myself.
Luca’s gaze softened for a moment, as if he could sense my doubt. “Yes, Lena. This is your chance. Ethan and Chloe’s world is crumbling. They’ve underestimated you.”
But I wasn’t sure if I could trust him completely.
What was Luca’s true role in all of this?
Was he just playing the role of a savior, or was there more to his involvement than I realized?
The more I thought about it, the more confused I became.
“Do you think they’ll just let us destroy everything they’ve built?” I asked, my voice trembling with a mix of anger and fear. “Do you really think we can bring them down?”
Luca’s expression didn’t change.
His calmness made me feel as if nothing in this world could faze him. “We have everything we need to bring them down, Lena. You’ve seen the evidence yourself. All we need is the right moment, the right move. And once they’re exposed, they’ll have nothing left.”
I nodded, though my heart was heavy with doubt. Was I prepared to go through with this? Was I ready to destroy the very people I had once loved, to take down everything that had once been my life?
A few days later, Luca and I stood outside a secluded building.
The plan was finally coming together.
The evidence we had gathered was about to be handed over to the authorities, the key to bringing Ethan and Chloe to their knees.
“Are you ready, Lena?” Luca asked, his voice steady, but his eyes searching mine for any hesitation.
I glanced at him, unsure of what to say.
Despite everything I had been through, part of me still wasn’t certain that this was the right thing to do. Was I truly justified in doing this?
Was this vengeance, or was it the only way for me to regain control over my life?
“I’m ready,” I finally said, though it didn’t feel like I was.
Luca smiled, but it wasn’t the smile of a man who had been waiting for revenge.
It was something deeper, something more intense.
It was as if he had been preparing for this moment far longer than I had realized.
Later that evening, we prepared to put the final part of the plan into motion.
The documents were in our hands, the truth about Ethan and Chloe’s illicit dealings, their manipulation, their lies—everything was about to be exposed to the world.
I stood in front of the computer, my hand hovering over the keyboard.
Luca was standing behind me, watching quietly.
I had the power to bring everything down, to destroy the two people who had betrayed me, the two people who had ruined my life.
But why did I still feel a sense of unease? Was this truly what I wanted?
“Lena,” Luca’s voice was soft but firm. “This is your moment. You’re in control now. You’ve earned this.”
His words should have comforted me, but instead, they only made the weight of what I was about to do feel even heavier.
It wasn’t just about revenge anymore.
It was about taking back my life, about proving that I wasn’t the helpless Omega they had always seen me as.
With one final breath, I pressed the keys.
As the documents were sent off to the authorities, I felt a strange sense of power.
But it was fleeting.
The moment the action was completed, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong.
I had done what I had set out to do, but I wasn’t sure if I could live with the consequences.
Luca stepped forward, his hand on my shoulder. “You’ve done it, Lena,” he said, his voice low but filled with pride. “They’re done.”
I looked at him, searching for any hint of something more.
Something that would explain why he was helping me so fervently.
Was I just a tool to him in this game of revenge, or was there something more between us?
But his face was unreadable, and I couldn’t bring myself to ask.
Maybe it didn’t matter anymore.
The next morning, the news broke.
Ethan and Chloe’s empire was crumbling, their illegal dealings exposed for the world to see.
The business they had spent years building was destroyed in an instant. And with it, their power.
I watched it unfold on the television, the shock, the outrage, the scandal.
But I didn’t feel victorious. I didn’t feel the satisfaction I had expected.
All I felt was emptiness. It was over, but it didn’t feel like a win.
Luca watched me from across the room, his expression as calm as always. “You did it, Lena. You’re free.”
But was I?
