Introduction

One kiss with my “straight” frat brother was all it took to ruin me.
Callum Hayes is the golden quarterback, Alpha Rho royalty, and so deep in the closet it hurts. He shouldn’t want me. He definitely shouldn’t touch me. But behind locked doors, he watches, commands, takes control, then pretends I don’t exist when the lights come on.
Loving him means secrets, bruised hearts and craving a man who might never choose me out loud.
If we get caught, everything burns.
If we don’t stop… I might let it.

Chapter 1

Elliot’s POV

Last night, I had almost kissed my fraternity brother, the star quarterback, and now I had to talk to him. There was no way around it. My hand shook as I lifted it to knock on his door, while my pulse thudded painfully in my throat because something hot and unfinished had sparked between us, and I needed to know what it meant.

Before my knuckles even made contact, I heard him.

“Ugh,” he groaned, followed by a breathless, strained, “Oh God.”

He sounded hurt, or at least that was what I thought in my panic, and without thinking it through, I pushed the door open hard, already bracing myself for blood or injury or anything that would justify the way my heart lurched.

He was not hurt.

He was naked.

His eyes were closed, his head tipped back against the wall, his abs rigid and sharply defined, and his entire body was taut with pleasure. My gaze dropped before I could stop myself, locking onto his cock, thick and flushed and already hard, pulsing faintly as if it had a heartbeat of its own.

He opened his eyes.

“You?” he said, disbelief roughening his voice.

I could not answer. I could not look away either, and it was only when I swallowed hard that the rest of the scene snapped into focus. A girl was kneeling in front of him, her hands braced on his thighs, her mouth parted in frustration rather than desire, and her glare snapped straight to me.

“Really?” she said sharply. “Another guy walks in staring at your dick, and now you finally get hard?”

His attention never left me. His jaw tightened, his teeth grinding together, and his hand curled into a fist at his side, while his body betrayed him further, growing harder instead of backing down.

I slammed the door shut before he could move, before he could speak, before he could come after me.

I leaned back against the wood, panting, my skin burning and my thoughts scattering. He had been naked. He had been hard. And I had stood there and stared like I had every right in the world to look.

I was so fucked.

There was no universe in which he did not know about my crush now.

I fled the Alpha Rho house before I had to face him, before I could spiral any further, and I didn’t stop until I reached the local salon where my best friend Mae was finishing her shift. She took one look at my face and immediately sat me in her chair, already reaching for her brushes while I tried to find the words.

“I walked in on him naked, Mae,” I blurted. “Like naked. Completely naked. Dick out. Really hard.”

She grinned. “Lucky you. I bet Callum Hayes is huge.”

“Do not lose the plot,” I said, dragging a hand down my face. “He wasn’t alone. He had a girl there, on her knees, sucking him off.”

“Yikes,” she said. “Awkward.”

“Not as awkward as what she said,” I replied. “She said another guy shows up and now you get hard. That’s weird, right?”

Mae hummed thoughtfully as she blended my eyeshadow. “Not really. He wants you, Elliot. I can tell.”

She tilted my chin up, forcing me to look at myself in the mirror, and suddenly I barely recognized the person staring back. My features were sharper, softer, braver, like a version of me I kept locked away.

“Look at that mug,” she said. “Tell me you don’t belong on stage.”

“It takes more than makeup to do drag,” I said quietly.

“You’ve wanted to do drag for years,” she shot back. “Lady D's just opened downtown, and they’re hosting a new talent night. This is your moment.”

I stared at my reflection, something warm and electric unfurling in my chest. “I love it.”

“I knew you would,” she said brightly. “Any chance you’ll leave this look on for my party tonight?”

I snorted. “Not unless you want to watch me get my ass beat by my frat brothers.”

“Ugh,” she groaned. “Why are you still in that stupid frat anyway?”

“You know why,” I said. “I want my dad to be proud.”

“He is proud of you.”

“He says that,” I replied, my voice tightening, “but I know he always wanted a certain kind of son. Football-loving. Frat boy. Manly man. He definitely did not sign up for a drag queen.”

She sighed, then handed me a makeup wipe. “Fine. Go wash your face and go back to straight-passing. I’ll see you tonight, but take this.”

She pressed a tube of lipstick into my hand. “It’s your color.”

I tucked it into my pocket and headed back to the house, letting the shower run hot and long, trying to wash away everything I had seen and felt. A towel hung low around my waist as I stepped into my room, and then I froze.

Someone was sitting on my bed.

Callum stood as soon as he saw me.

“Say nothing,” he said.

It was the first time we had ever been alone together. The first time we had spoken more than a handful of words.

He crossed the room in two heavy strides, backing me into the door, his body a solid wall of heat and muscle. “God,” he muttered, “you’re so…”

“I know,” I said, meeting his gaze. “What are you going to do about it?”

His stare darkened. “I saw how you were looking at me this morning. I’ve seen it before. I’m not an idiot, Elliot.”

His calloused palm spread over my throat, not squeezing, just claiming, and I swallowed hard, my body reacting instantly. He had my life in his hands, rough and dangerous, and I was already hard, already waiting.

“I’ve been waiting for you to man up and talk to me since you moved in,” he continued, “but it looks like I have to take matters into my own hands.”

I closed my eyes and drew in a steady breath. “Tell me you want more.”

“I want more,” I said. “I want everything you have to give me.”

“Good boy,” he murmured. “See how easy that was?”

My head tipped back as I struggled to breathe. “What about the girl?” I asked. “Isn’t she waiting for you?”

“Paige’s not my girlfriend,” he said flatly. “She knows what this was. I couldn’t even get hard with her, not until you walked in and looked at me with those distracting eyes.”

“My eyes?” I whispered.

His grip tightened just enough to make me gasp. “What I should have done last night.”

“Callum,” I breathed, and then his mouth was on mine.

The kiss was bruising and hungry, stealing the air from my lungs, and I moaned without shame, gripping his chest through his shirt. I knew this was reckless, driven by lust and adrenaline and everything we had been denying, but I did not care.

He pinned me harder to the door, growling my name, his hand bruising my waist as the line between fantasy and reality dissolved completely. I bit his bottom lip, and he groaned low in his throat, letting me think for half a second that I had the upper hand.

“Elliot,” he warned.

I surrendered, sinking into the kiss as it pulled me under like a wave, and when he finally broke away, he rested his forehead against mine, breathing hard.

“I kissed you,” he said. “I don’t know what to do now.”

“Don’t overthink it,” I said. “You wanted something, so you took it. Now do it again.”

“Damn right,” he said, diving back in, kissing me like he had something to prove.

“More,” I whispered.

“You can’t handle more.”

“Yes, I fucking can.”

“Prove it.”

I ground against him, letting him feel how hard I was, and then I pulled away slowly, teasing, pressing my mouth to his one last time before breaking the kiss.

“This never happened,” he said quietly.

I watched him leave, running my tongue along my lip for one final taste of him.

What the fuck had I just done?

Callum’s POV

What the fuck had just happened?

I had kissed Elliot Price.

The moment the door shut behind me, the weight of it crashed down on my chest, stealing my breath in sharp, uneven pulls. My lips still tingled, my hands still remembered the heat of his body pinned against the door, and my head felt like it was buzzing with static.

My phone vibrated in my palm.

I scrubbed a hand down my face before answering, already bracing myself.

“Callum,” my dad said without preamble. “I need your date’s name for Charlie’s wedding.”

“What?” I asked, genuinely lost.

“Your date,” he repeated. “Last I checked, you had some cheerleader throwing herself at you. She should be your girlfriend by now. What’s her name? Sage? Brooke?”

“Paige,” I said automatically. “And she’s not my girlfriend. She’s just…”

“I don’t care,” he cut in. “You’re showing up to your brother’s wedding with a date. A female date. No son of mine is going to fall victim to those big city values.”

I felt something sharp twist in my gut. “Big city values like what? Not beating up on queer kids?”

“Don’t talk back to me, son,” he snapped. “And if I find out that fancy ass college is putting ideas in your head, let’s just say I still have that belt.”

I sucked in a breath, my ribs aching. “Dad, I’m not a child anymore. I’m not afraid of a fucking belt. I’m a grown man, and don’t you ever forget that.”

“You’ll always be my son,” he said coldly. “Don’t you forget that.”

I ended the call before he could say anything else.

I knew I had six inches and fifty pounds on him now. I knew he couldn’t hurt me anymore. But the scars across my back told a different story, one that never really shut up no matter how old or strong I got.

A knock echoed down the hall.

“Knock, knock, knock,” a familiar voice called. “You in there, Callum?”

I straightened, forcing my face into something neutral as I stepped out into the hallway, where Tyrese stood waiting, hands shoved into his pockets. He’d been my best friend since freshman year, my Alpha Rho brother, and the one person who had seen me through every version of myself.

“You ready for Cassie’s party?” he asked. “Do you think she’ll like the sweater? I want to look good. I just want to talk to her tonight.”

The last thing I wanted was to go to a party, especially not after kissing Elliot and nearly detonating my entire life, until it clicked that Cassie was Elliot’s best friend.

“Yeah,” I said slowly. “I’m ready.”

Tyrese tilted his head, studying me. “You okay, man? Girl problems?”

“Uh,” I said, then winced. “Guy problems.”

He raised a brow but didn’t push. “You know you can tell me anything, right?”

“I know,” I said quietly. “I do.”

The party was already in full swing when we arrived, music thumping through the house, bodies packed shoulder to shoulder. My eyes scanned the room automatically, and then I spotted him.

Elliot stood across the room, laughing with Cassie, fully dressed, thank fuck, though my body reacted anyway, heat curling low in my gut at the sight of him. One kiss, and I was acting like a wolf in heat. I took the drink Tyrese handed me and tried to calm the hell down.

Then it happened.

“Watch where you’re fucking going,” someone snapped.

I turned just in time to see Andy, Alpha Rho’s president, collide with Elliot, beer sloshing dangerously close to the floor. I knew Andy’s temper, and I knew the look in his eyes when he was looking for a reason.

Shit was about to go down.

“Okay, Andy,” Elliot said evenly. “Whatever.”

“Not whatever,” Andy shot back. “I’m your president. Show some respect.”

“Andy,” Elliot warned, and then Andy grabbed him by the collar.

A lipstick slipped from Elliot’s pocket and hit the floor.

Andy’s eyes locked onto it, his mouth twisting. “Is that lipstick? What the fuck is an alpha man doing with a fucking lipstick?”

“It’s not mine,” Elliot said quickly.

“It’s mine,” Cassie cut in, stepping forward. “He was holding it for me.”

“Yeah,” Elliot added. “Cassie doesn’t have pockets. I was doing her a favor.”

I crossed the room without thinking, positioning myself beside Andy. He might have been president, but I was the quarterback, and if anyone could go toe to toe with him, it was me.

“Let him go,” I said, my voice low and firm.

“Stand down, VP,” Andy snapped.

“I don’t think so,” I replied. “If you start shit right now, you’re going to make an asshole of yourself in front of everyone.”

“I’m the Alpha Rho president,” he said. “I can get away with anything.”

The room went quiet, tension thick enough to choke on. Andy tightened his grip on Elliot, who swallowed hard and looked straight at me.

“Fuck you, Callum,” Elliot said. “What are you going to do about it?”

“Andy,” I said evenly, “you’re benched for Saturday’s game.”

He laughed. “You can’t do that.”

“Yes, I can,” I said. “I’m the quarterback, and I’m the captain.”

“You need grounds.”

“Grounds like not being able to control your fucking rage.”

“That sounds like grounds to me,” Elliot said.

“Yeah,” Cassie added. “Me too.”

Around us, heads nodded, murmurs rising as the room turned against Andy. Elliot looked at me and mouthed a silent thank you.

Andy’s gaze snapped back to Elliot, blazing. “This is all your fault.”

“No,” I said sharply. “It’s not. Back the fuck off him.”

“What are you doing, Callum?” Andy demanded.

“What do you think?” I said. “I’m defending an Alpha Rho brother, and I’m acting like a leader. You know, like we pledged to do.”

“He has a lipstick,” Andy spat.

“So?” I shot back.

“So I’ve got to do something about it.”

“Stand down,” I warned.

“I’ve got to fuck him up.”

I shoved Andy hard, putting my body between him and Elliot. Andy opened his mouth again, fury twisting his face.

“I can’t believe an Alpha Rho is sticking up for some fucking f…”

“Say the word,” I said coldly, crossing my arms over my chest, “and see what happens.”

We stared each other down until Andy finally looked away.

“Fine,” he muttered.

“Everyone,” I said, raising my voice, “go back to the party.”

I turned the music back up, and slowly the room came back to life, laughter and movement filling the space again. Cheerleaders swarmed me almost immediately.

“Oh my God, Callum,” Paige gushed, linking her arm through mine and squeezing my bicep. “You were so brave. You saved the party.”

She leaned into me, smiling up like I was exactly what she wanted, but my eyes searched the room for one person.

Elliot was gone.

Elliot’s POV

Back in my room, I slammed the door shut, wanting to forget tonight as quickly as possible, except for one part. Fuck! He was so hot when he was mad.

He had been ready to rip Andy’s head off for me. I leaned against the door, breathless, as I wrapped my hand around my hard cock. I stroked myself, my mind filling with images of Callum.

No. No more Callum. I had to stop wanting the impossible.

I needed to get out of my head.

I opened my laptop and queued up something dirty. I wanted to see a rough threesome. I slipped my hand into my boxers and stroked myself, watching two burly men seduce a third. I sat back in the chair, panting for breath as I chased my orgasm.

Fuck… God.

“Callum,” I breathed. “Oh my God.”

Then, the door flew open.

“Fuck,” I said.

“Don’t move,” Callum said.

He stood in the doorway, eyes hooded, chest tight.

“Get out,” I said. “Get out and lock the door.”

Callum locked the door, but he did not leave. His eyes flicked to the laptop, and his lip twitched.

“I’m not going anywhere, Elliot,” he said. “I’m going to stay, and I’m going to watch.”

On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...

Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.

George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.

His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.

When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"

George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"

"I'm afraid that's impossible."

Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
