Introduction
Now, with her heart broken and her family torn apart, she faces the ultimate question: how will she pick up the pieces of her shattered life?
Chapter 1
PROLOGUE...
The city lights of New York blurred against the glass as Cynthia Wills leaned her forehead on the window, her eyes tracing the skyline she’d dreamed of conquering. High above, neon signs and skyscrapers glowed like beacons, each representing companies with wealth and power she could barely comprehend. And here she was, standing on the edge of her own dreams— and possibly, ruin.
For the past few months, she and Logan Shaw, her loyal partner and the tech genius behind their startup, had been scraping by, pitching their company, H-Check, to anyone who would listen. They had sent dozens of proposals, each crafted late into the night with hope and desperation. This wasn’t just another idea. H-Check was their vision: a cutting-edge health-scanning technology that allowed anyone, anywhere, to check their body’s status with just a phone. It was the future, and they knew it. But knowing wasn’t enough. Not in this city. Not without money.
“Two thousand,” Logan had muttered once, half-laughing, half-bitter, as he tossed yet another offer letter into the trash. “That’s what they think H-Check is worth.”
Two thousand dollars was not even enough to cover their debts, let alone the cost of equipment, licenses, and tech development. And the few investors who did show interest had other plans for their invention— plans that involved stripping away ownership from them entirely. They could either sell out or go bankrupt. Every meeting, every polite rejection or patronizing smile, drove that reality home. Their last shot was almost out.
“We can’t keep this up, Cynthia,” Logan had said that evening, frustration heavy in his voice. “If we don’t find someone willing to believe in us soon... we’ll lose everything we’ve worked for.”
And so, they’d pinned all their hopes on a last, desperate attempt. An email sent to AX Spaceline, one of the biggest conglomerates in New York, had received an unexpected response. Their proposal had been forwarded directly to the top— someone named Carlos Antonio, the heir to the wealthiest old-money family in the Italy. AX Spaceline was one of his family’s many enterprises, a multimillion-dollar empire of luxury and influence. A man like Carlos was beyond reach. He didn’t attend pitch meetings for small startups. He didn’t need to.
But here they were, invited to his headquarters for a meeting with the mysterious billionaire himself. Why he would personally consider their little startup was a question that haunted Cynthia, especially as she prepared for what could be the make-or-break moment of her career. The stakes were sky-high, but so was the risk.
Logan’s voice interrupted her thoughts. “Nervous?”
“Terrified,” she admitted, but managed a half-smile. “We have no backup plan, Logan. If he doesn’t invest, we’re done.”
He reached out, a reassuring presence in the dim light. “We’re not done until we say we are. Remember, this isn’t about the money for us. It’s about changing lives.”
Cynthia nodded, hoping that would be enough for Carlos Antonio to see their vision. But as they prepared to step into his world— a world of limitless power, wealth, and ambition— she couldn’t shake the feeling that they might be wading into deeper waters than they realized.

CHAPTER ONE...
The elevator hummed softly as it rose to the upper floors of the towering AX-Spaceline building. The entire ride, Cynthia paced back and forth, each step matching the rhythm of her rapid, pounding heartbeat. Her heels clicked sharply against the polished steel floor, her mind racing through every possibility of how this meeting could play out.
“Cynthia, relax,” Logan said, his calm voice cutting through her nerves. He leaned against the elevator wall, his fingers drumming rhythmically against his phone as he reviewed the final points of their proposal.
She stopped, exhaling shakily. “Relax? Logan, if we don’t get this—” she gestured around, swallowing hard, “we’re done. We’ll have to sell H-Check for peanuts or, worse, go under. Do you know how close we are to bankruptcy?”
Logan gave her a slight smile, his round face uncharacteristically calm. “I know. But panicking won’t help. Look, you’ve got this speech down. You’re the best strategist and publicist in this game, Cyn. Besides, desperation is like blood in the water for these people.”
She clenched her jaw, aware he was right but still unable to shake the cold knots in her stomach. “But we’ve tried this before. We’ve been to meeting after meeting, and they either want to buy us out for next to nothing or dismiss H-check like it’s just another risky startup.”
“This isn’t just another meeting,” Logan said, giving her shoulder a reassuring squeeze. “AX-Spaceline… if they even consider investing, we're set for life.”
Cynthia forced a thin smile, gripping her leather-bound pitch folder tighter as the elevator came to a halt. “All right,” she said, her voice barely a whisper. “Here goes nothing.”
The elevator doors slid open, revealing a young blonde woman with a polite, corporate smile and a neatly pressed AX-Spaceline blazer.
“Good afternoon, Ms. Wills, Mr. Shaw,” she greeted them, gesturing down the corridor. “Mr. Carlos Antonio is expecting you in the conference room. Please follow me.”
Cynthia felt a chill run down her spine. Carlos Antonio? The Carlos Antonio? She exchanged a quick, panicked look with Logan, who merely raised his eyebrows in surprise.
Carlos Antonio, one of the wealthiest heirs to an Italian dynasty, was someone Cynthia had only seen in business magazines or on TV. He was ranked among the top four wealthiest individuals on Forbes, a man of both staggering wealth and power. Why would someone like him be interested in meeting with a fledgling startup like theirs? His team could easily evaluate this without his presence.
“Are you all right?” Logan whispered as they followed their guide through sleek, glass-walled hallways that screamed of exclusivity and opulence.
Cynthia nodded, though her fingers trembled slightly as she clutched her folder. “I don’t know… I just wasn’t expecting him.”
Logan gave a reassuring nod, though even he looked a bit pale. “Then let’s make it count.”
They entered a large, elegant conference room lined with floor-to-ceiling windows that gave a breathtaking view of the New York City skyline. A long, polished mahogany table dominated the room, surrounded by suited officials, each wearing an air of serious authority. It was intimidating. Cynthia and Logan were mere minnows in a room full of sharks.
“Please, take a seat,” their guide instructed, motioning to two empty chairs near the head of the table. Cynthia settled in, feeling Logan’s steady presence beside her, anchoring her nerves.
A woman in her mid-fifties, clearly a senior executive, smiled across the table at them. Her gaze was keen, appraising, with a sense of authority that filled the room. “Welcome, Ms. Wills, Mr. Shaw. I’m Emily Sanders, head of acquisitions at AX-Spaceline. First, let me say that we’ve reviewed your product, H-Check, and it’s impressive. The concept has a lot of potential.”
Cynthia felt a rush of relief, and she dipped her head in acknowledgment. “Thank you, Ms. Sanders. Honestly, this feels surreal. To be sitting here with all of you… well, we’re honored.”
Emily offered a slight nod. “And it’s only possible because of your ingenuity,” she said. “At AX-Spaceline, we value innovations that challenge the norm.”
As Emily spoke, Cynthia couldn’t help but notice the man seated across the room, watching her with a cool, intense gaze. Carlos Antonio sat back on a luxurious leather couch, his piercing blue eyes locked on her as if he were studying her every move, every flicker of her expression. He was the embodiment of confidence, his tailored suit fitting him like a second skin, and his dark hair slightly tousled in a way that seemed both effortless and purposeful.
Cynthia felt a blush creep up her cheeks. She’d seen him on countless magazine covers, admired from afar… but in person, he was even more striking. And the way he looked at her, a glint of something predatory in his gaze, made her heart race.
Logan gave her a gentle nudge, bringing her back to the present. She quickly refocused, catching the tail end of Emily’s words.
“…which is why we are prepared to offer an investment of one billion dollars, in exchange for a 50% equity stake in H-Check.”
Cynthia’s jaw nearly dropped. One billion dollars? She exchanged a stunned look with Logan, her mind reeling. A billion dollars would save them. It would mean growth, innovation, stability… everything they’d worked so hard for.
Emily slid a contract across the table. “This offer reflects the full support and confidence of AX-Spaceline in your product. All we need is your signatures.”
Cynthia reached for the pen, her hands shaking with excitement, but just as she poised to sign, a deep, commanding voice rang out from across the room.
“Hold on a moment.”
All heads turned to Carlos, who had risen from his seat. He moved with a slow, deliberate grace, his presence shifting the energy in the room as he approached Cynthia. His gaze held hers captive, and he leaned in close, his cologne— a mix of wood and spice— enveloping her senses. Cynthia’s heart hammered as he placed a hand over the contract, stopping her pen from touching the paper.
He looked at her, his eyes sparkling with an enigmatic challenge. “I’m withdrawing this offer…” he said, his voice low and steady, with a hint of amusement. The room grew tense as everyone waited for him to elaborate.
"It remains standing only on one condition—"
Cynthia’s voice came out as a whisper, her eyes fixed on his. “And… what would that condition be, Mr. Antonio?”
Carlos’s lips curved into a subtle smile as he leaned even closer. “One date. With me.”
Gasps rippled through the room. Logan stiffened beside her, eyes wide with disbelief. Even the officials exchanged bewildered glances. Cynthia felt her face heat up, her heart racing with a mix of excitement, fear, and confusion.
“A… a date?” she stammered, glancing down, unable to hold his gaze.

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully

"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.

Four years ago, Fiona's meticulously planned conspiracy turned me from an ordinary omega into a prisoner carrying the weight of a murder charge.
Four years later, I return to a world that has changed beyond recognition.
My best friend Fiona, who is also my stepsister, has become the perfect daughter in my mother's eyes. And my ex-boyfriend, Ethan, is about to hold a high-profile mating ceremony with her.
The love, family bonds, and reputation that I once cherished have all been taken by Fiona.
Just when I had reached my breaking point, questioning the very purpose of my existence, the legendary Alpha Lucas of Moonhaven suddenly appeared in my life.
He is powerful and enigmatic, a figure that all werewolves hold in awe.
Yet, he shows an extraordinary persistence and tenderness towards me.
Is Lucas's appearance a gift from fate, or the start of another conspiracy?
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
