Introduction
A gorgeous, broke model I could keep until my heart stopped aching from my husband’s betrayal.
I paid for his time. I set the rules. I thought I was in control.
But the man in my bed wasn’t who he said he was.
Behind the perfect smile and sinful body was a billionaire hiding from his own enemies.
Now he’s tangled in my life, in my bed, and in my heart—
and walking away might be more dangerous than staying.
Chapter 1
"Tired?" A man's husky voice, still heavy with desire, whispered in her ear.
Sophia Brown struggled to open her eyes, her silky auburn hair spread out on the pillow.
Following his movements, she arched her neck in helpless pleasure, exposing the elegant curve of her throat.
"Let's take a break," she murmured, her voice hoarse, clearly exhausted from their passionate encounter.
Henry Windsor's gaze burned with desire as he toyed with a strand of her hair, his tone playful. "Giving up already? Just a moment ago, you had enough energy to scratch me."
Sophia glanced at the red marks her nails had left across Henry's chest, her cheeks flushing as she cursed inwardly.
She had been keeping him for two years, and somehow his stamina had only improved with time.
Her back was killing her.
Henry looked down at her, his hands gripping her slender waist. The light above cast shadows across his sculpted features, making him look like a masterpiece carved by a devoted artist.
"Age is catching up with me. It 's hard to compete with someone young like you,” Sophia said, finally catching her breath. Her manicured nails playfully brushed his chest like a petulant cat.
Henry caught her wandering hand, his eyes dark with intensity. "In my eyes, you'll always be young."
Just then, Sophia's phone rang on the nightstand. The screen lit up with the contact name "Honey," instantly shattering the intimate atmosphere like a bucket of ice water.
Henry's eyes darkened. "Honey? So this is why you wanted to end things tonight?"
"Not break up. End this arrangement," Sophia corrected seriously. She reached to hang up, but Henry was faster and answered the call.
Oliver Miller's impatient voice came through the speaker.
"Sophia, when exactly are you coming home? You know I'm waiting for you. Are you trying to throw a tantrum?"
A soft, delicate female voice chimed in from the background.
"Oliver, be nicer to Sophia. Don't be so harsh."
Sophia's expression turned cold.
Clara Garcia continued in her gentle tone. "Sophia, Oliver's grandfather wants him to bring you home. Even if you're upset, don't disrespect the elderly. We've been waiting for you all evening."
Her tone was gentle, but her words painted Sophia as disrespectful, laced with subtle accusation.
Oliver was currently in what had been their marital home.
With Sophia out so late, the implication was clear.
Sophia understood immediately, sarcasm flashing in her eyes.
Two years apart, and Clara's tactics were still just as crude.
Not only had she destroyed someone else's marriage, but she had also convinced Oliver to take her abroad on his wedding day.
They spent two years indulging in their illicit relationship while ignoring the consequences. Oliver's grandfather, Gavin Miller, had been hospitalized from the shock, and the Miller family had become a laughingstock.
Sophia's voice was cold and full of sarcasm. "Can't handle waiting half a day? I once waited for you all night, only to hear that you'd taken Clara abroad."
Oliver's anger flared. "Sophia, I don't have time for your dramatics! Where are you ? Come home immediately."
Sophia frowned, her attention fixed on the call. She didn't notice Henry's expression darkening beside her.
She didn't want to see Oliver, but she couldn't ignore Gavin.
It was late, yet he was still waiting.
She steadied herself. "I'll be there soon."
The moment she spoke, Henry's hand moved. He lowered his head and bit her earlobe lightly, his voice deliberately muffled. "Sophia, can you really go back? Am I not better than him?"
Henry's voice already deep and husky, but now he deliberately lowered his tone, and his words carried a sense of intentional seduction.
Sophia shot him a warning look, silently telling him to be quiet.
Oliver's infidelity was public knowledge.
She needed to keep her position as the victim. If Oliver caught her in any compromising situation, she'd lose her advantage.
Oliver keenly heard the voice on the other end. His tone sharpened, and he asked, "Is there a man with you? Sophia, where exactly are you right now?"
"You heard wrong."
Sophia ended the call immediately, not giving him another chance to question her.
She switched her phone to silent and tossed it aside.
Turning to Henry, she straddled him, looking down from above. Her hand rested on his Adam's apple, fingers slowly tracing over it.
Henry swallowed.
Sophia's beautiful eyes narrowed.
"You did that on purpose. What are you trying to do? Replace Oliver?"
She playfully patted Henry's sculpted chest muscles. "Answer me."
Henry's gaze grew even darker, his voice low. "You've known my intentions from the start."
"Nice thought, but it's impossible." Sophia felt a twinge of regret.
After all, Henry was the perfect companion.
He was attractive, had an incredible body, and knew exactly how to please her.
Otherwise, their arrangement wouldn't have lasted two years.
Though she despised Oliver, she valued Gavin's kindness.
When the Brown family treated her like a pawn, it was Gavin who gave her a sense of family.
If not for his failing health, he wouldn't have urgently called Oliver back.
Sophia was about to speak again when Henry suddenly captured her lips, stopping her from saying anything more.
Sophia sighed inwardly. Fine. Let him seize the moment.
Meanwhile, Oliver couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. Though the sound was faint, he was certain he had heard a man’s voice.
At this hour, Sophia was with another man!
Clara watched his darkening expression carefully. "Oliver, don't overthink it. Maybe Sophia is discussing business with a male client."
"What kind of business happens this late at night?"
Oliver shot to his feet, a possessive rage roaring within him.
"If Sophia has betrayed me, I'll never forgive her."
He forced down the unease rising in his chest.
Back in the hotel room, Sophia and Henry had finally finished.
Sophia was so exhausted she couldn't move.
Henry gently carried her to the bathroom to clean up—a habit he'd maintained for two years.
Sophia relaxed in the warm bubble bath.
After carefully washing her, he wrapped her in a towel, carried her back to bed, and then cleaned himself.
But when he returned, Sophia handed him a bank card.
"You're great, and you satisfy me in every way. But my husband is back." She met his gaze calmly.
"So this is where it ends. The card contains your compensation."

On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
