Chapter 6 Confrontation With Ex.
AKIRA
The next few days had been filled with me moving to the apartment Bryan had set up for me. I had been surprised when I had seen the house as I had thought it was just going to be some normal apartment but it was actually a small villa enough for a complete family to live in.
It's been three days since we set the deal but I still haven't been contacted by Bryan so I don't know what's going on which made me more anxious. The more I think about my losses and how those people were living freely, my heart bleeds and my dreams get tangled.
I sighed softly, my eyes stared at the morning sun as I held a cup of coffee in my hand.
“I need to get it,” I muttered softly to myself.
Just yesterday while I had been arranging my things, I realised that I was missing one important thing which is a necklace which I had always worn.
This was something that was important to me and not something I would let them take, for that, even if it was to risk going back to that place I detest so much, then I have to!
I stopped my car in front of the estate, my eyes narrowed coldly as I looked at the place which I had called home for years but also a place that brought me so much pain. Without much thought, I got out of my car and walked towards the door.
“Knock!”
I waited for a while but didn't hear a response. My brows furrowed, but I continued to knock on the door and still heard no response.
I turned to look at the camera which was positioned at the side coldly. A sneer appeared on my face and without wasting much time, I turned around and walked away.
“You think I don't understand what you're trying to do?” I breathed out immediately I got to my car. My fist clenched on the wheels of my car, and my eyes showed mockery, “If you think you can use my necklace to play some games, then you’re wrong!” I spat, stepped on the accelerator of my car and sped off.
**
“Stop!”
A loud voice sounded trying to stop me, but would I listen? No!
“If you don't stop, I’ll involve the security, don't think you’re still the wife of our CEO!”
The arrogant voice spoke out again and this time, I had to stop as the owner of the voice had stood in my way.
“Really? And what will you do to me?” I asked calmly, though my eyes had fire spitting from them.
The secretary who blocked my way laughed mockingly, her body rocking to and fro, “You think you’re still the proud Mrs Stone?” She asked.
My brows furrowed.
I had only come to Leon’s company to get what was mine, but who knew I would be met with this situation when I had only wanted to find Leon directly.
I couldn't help but laugh at the circumstances. If I could remember clearly, this secretary had been one of the few people who acted like they couldn't wait to worship the places I stepped on whenever I came to the company, but now…
I said not a word to her, but drew out my phone and placed a call to a number I was familiar with.
“Hello?”
My body trembled at the sound of the voice that made my blood boil with rage. But…
I closed my eyes, tightened my hand on the phone, then spat out coldly.
“Leon Stone, I'm at your company and I need my personal item which is with you! Your secretary wouldn't let me in…” I sneered, “Or… is it that you still want to hold onto what is mine?” I asked, my voice cold but mocking.
The line turned silent for a while.
I knew Leon so well. His reputation mattered a lot to him and he wouldn't want to ruin it, and I bet right—
“Stop speaking rubbish, and come up!” He ordered fiercely.
The secretary who had been listening at the side was stunned after she heard the words of Leon. The corner of her lips turned up in embarrassment, but I ignored her by walking away.
I stood in front of the door of Leon’s office and I couldn't help but go into a daze.
When I thought about how I had listened to words that had changed my life right at the position I was standing, my heart couldn't help but hurt.
This position had been where I had stood when I saw him cheating on me with Stella, and also the spot I had stood when I overheard their conversation about how they had collided and played me for a fool.
The thought of them filled me with disgust and made me want to turn around to leave, but the thought of something of mine which was so important to me being in the hands of someone as dirty and disgusting as Leon, I pushed down my anger.
I closed my eyes, clenched and unclenched my fist, and when I opened my eyes, the turmoil in them had settled.
“Akira, you aren't here to argue, just go in there, take back what belongs to you and leave!” I muttered warnings to myself and only after I was settled did I walk into the office of the man I detest so much.
“I knew I’d see you again, Akira. I was expecting you.”
My body froze.
My throat rolled as my eyes settled on the man who sat behind the office table dressed in a suit.
His face remained the same, one I detest so much, the face of the man who had ruined me, manipulated and taken everything away from me.
Leon Stone…
And what does he mean by he had been expecting me?
My expression tightened, and my chest heaved, but still, thinking of the plans, I managed to calm down.
“What do you mean, Leon?” I asked coldly.
I watched as Leon, who had been sitting on the chair, stood up, and the smirk on his face widened. I watched in confusion as he walked to the side of his office and opened a drawer and brought out something.
The moment I saw what was in his hand, my heart jumped, and my eyes shone with rage.
His chuckle snapped me back to my senses.
Leon stood there and in his hand was the jewel that meant a lot to me which he knew.
“I knew you would come back for this, dear Ex-wife.” He spat.
My lips trembled.
“You purposely hide it right?” I asked sharply as I tried to rein in my boiling anger.
Leon looked at me relaxingly, his face had that disgusting smile that made me want to—
“You need your necklace right?” He asked, and a bad feeling filled me, and like I predicted, his next word left me speechless.
“Come back to me, Akira…” He paused, then began to walk towards me like a predator which made my body grow taunt.
“Are you crazy?!” I asked coldly, my eyes sparkled with disbelief.
“Why're you still so arrogant, Kira? Haven't you realized? Without me, you’re nothing! I own you, and only I can give you everything you want.” He said, and before I realised what was going on, I had been cornered by him which stunned me.
My heart thrumped as I moved back and at the same time glared at him coldly.
“You’re crazy if you still think of me as a fool you can manipulate, Leon! If you don't know, then I’ll let you know,” I paused, looked him in the eyes with mine filled with hatred, then spat out, “I find you disgusting! I hate you, Leon and I, Akira will never come back to you!”
My chest heaved as I glared at him coldly, I could see his stunned face but who cares about that?
I took the chance to push him off me, then move away from him sharply.
He’s crazy! And I knew I wouldn't be able to take my necklace from him today.
“You want the necklace? Then keep it till you won't be able to anymore.” I said, then turned to leave.
“I'm giving you a chance to beg for mercy now, Akira. Maybe I’d accept you as a slave, don’t miss the opportunity. Remember, you’re wretched!” His sneer rang out.
My steps paused, my fist clenched tightly, then I continued to move.
“Even if I'm to die on the street, I wouldn't beg you crazy beast!” I spat and then walked out of the office.
My blood boiled as I walked out of Leon’s company. I had come here to take back what was mine but I had only gotten angry instead.
I hopped into my car and inserted my key, then—
RING!
I s
napped back and checked my phone but the name I saw stunned me.
Bryan…?
I swallowed nervously, then picked up.
“Ms Akira, let's talk!”
