The Girl Beneath the Jersey and the Alpha Twins
June Calva · Ongoing · 208.4k Words
Introduction
But fate has a cruel sense of humor. Her new roommates are the very twins who tormented her out of her own life, the sons of the Luna who destroyed her family. Now they're sharing a dorm, competing for the same spot on the team, and slowly starting to notice that "Rhys" isn't quite who he claims to be.
Every day is a tightrope walk between exposure and survival. Every night is a battle to keep her secret, and her heart, locked down tight. Because the closer she gets to the truth about her father, the closer Xavier and Hunter get to her, and the more she realizes some walls were never built to keep everyone out.
Chapter 1
Kerensa's POV
The private charter bus gleams in the morning sun, its polished exterior throwing my nervous reflection right back at me.
Great.
I tug my cap lower, making sure it shadows most of my face before climbing aboard. The smell of leather and fresh carpet hits me immediately. Clean. Expensive. Nothing like home, where everything smells faintly of earth, pine, and whatever somebody cooked the night before.
I swallow and straighten my shoulders.
Wider stance. Loose arms. Chin level.
I've practiced this for years. It should be automatic by now.
My phone buzzes in my pocket.
I pull it out, and my fingers shake just enough to annoy me.
Mom.
Be careful, Rhys. Please remember who you are. I love you.
My chest tightens.
She fought so hard to accept this. To call me by the name I chose. Even now, I can hear the effort in every text she sends. She means well. I know she does.
I type back before I can overthink it.
I'll be fine, Mom. Don't worry about me. Love you too.
Another message pops up almost immediately.
Alpha Julian.
Remember your purpose. The pack stands with you.
I stare at the words for a second.
My stomach twists.
Purpose.
That's what this is supposed to be about.
The tournament. The Southern Kingdom. The North. The Alpha King's promise.
One wish.
Any wish.
Even freedom for a man they've called a murderer.
I lock my phone and shove it back into my pocket.
Seven years of binding my chest. Seven years of lowering my voice, changing the way I walked, learning how to take up space like a boy instead of shrinking into myself.
Seven years of pretending to be my dead brother.
All for this.
My chance to make one impossible wish come true.
I won't forget, I reply to Alpha Julian before putting my phone away for good.
I head toward the very back of the bus and drop into the window seat.
Out of the way.
Out of sight.
Exactly where I want to be.
The engine rumbles beneath my feet. Outside, trees slide past the windows as the bus pulls away, and I press my head against the cool glass.
Seven years.
Seven years since I last saw my father.
Seven years since Rhys had—
No.
I shut the thought down before it can finish.
Not now.
My hands knot together in my lap. I squeeze until my fingers ache, using the pressure to keep myself steady.
That isn't helpful right now.
The bus picks up speed.
The Hockey Tournament.
My chance to change everything.
If I can make the team, if I can win, maybe—
Maybe I can finally outrun the girl I used to be.
A guy drops into the seat beside me.
I flinch.
He smells like mint and clean laundry, and for one stupid second my heart jumps hard enough that I think everyone on the bus must have heard it.
I pull away from him instinctively.
"Sorry." His voice is smooth, easy. Friendly. "Didn't mean to startle you."
"I'm fine."
I lower my voice automatically.
Low. Even. Controlled.
The register I've practiced so many times that sometimes I forget what my real voice sounds like.
I turn back toward the window.
Conversation isn't part of the plan.
The less attention I get, the better.
Maybe he'll take the hint.
He doesn't.
"Heading to the Academy too?"
I glance at him from the corner of my eye.
"Tryouts are brutal, but I hear the training is top-notch."
I shrug.
One shoulder.
Nothing more.
Apparently, my subtle hint isn't subtle enough.
"Nervous?"
His gaze drops to my hands.
I immediately realize they're clenched into fists.
Damn it.
I force my fingers open and flatten my palms against my knees.
"First time at tryouts?"
"Yeah."
One word.
Flat.
Final.
Please let that be enough.
"Same."
He grins.
"Though you look really familiar to me. Have we met before?"
Every muscle in my body tightens.
Familiar.
That's dangerous.
Familiar means recognition.
Recognition means questions.
Questions mean I'm screwed.
"Don't think so, man."
The last word feels awkward coming out of my mouth, but I add it anyway. A small piece of the role. Another reminder that I'm supposed to be Rhys.
"Huh."
He tilts his head, studying my profile.
"What pack are you from?"
"None of your business."
The words come out sharper than I intend.
Shit.
I regret them immediately.
Rhys wouldn't say that.
He'd laugh. Make a joke. Toss the question right back at the guy and somehow turn the whole thing into a conversation about anything else.
I know exactly how my brother would've handled it.
I just can't seem to make my mouth cooperate.
The guy chuckles.
Instead of getting offended, he looks amused.
"Feisty. I like that."
I finally look at him.
He smiles.
"Seriously, though. I can't shake this feeling that I know you."
I study him for half a second.
Clean-cut. Handsome. Kind eyes.
And that smile...
Yeah. The sort of smile that probably makes girls forget their own names.
Not me.
He's not my type.
Not that I have a type anymore.
Not since becoming someone who can't afford to want anything.
I turn toward him fully.
"Look, I'm here for tryouts. Not to make friends. Not to chat about old times. So if you could just—"
His smile changes.
Widens.
Recognition flashes across his face.
My stomach drops.
"Wait a minute."
He leans forward slightly, staring at me.
"I know who you are."
I stop breathing.
His eyes search my face.
"You're Kerensa."
The name hits harder than it should.
Harder than any punch ever could.
My breath catches, and my hands curl into fists in my lap.
Everything around me seems to disappear.
The bus.
The other players.
The engine.
All of it fades beneath the sound of that one word.
Kerensa.
My name.
The name I haven't heard spoken aloud in seven years.
The name that belongs to a dead girl.
"You're wrong."
My voice comes out low.
Too low.
I force myself to breathe and keep my expression still, even while panic claws its way up my throat.
"My name is Rhys."

Alpha Caden Blackwell believed those words would break me. That after three years of marriage marked by silence, humiliation, and quiet rejection, I would fear a life without him.
I did once.
As the Luna of the Shadowcrest Pack, I gave everything to a man my wolf recognized as her mate, enduring whispers, cold stares, and a pack that never truly accepted me. I stayed because I believed love required endurance. Because I believed patience would one day be rewarded.
That belief shattered the night Caden welcomed his former lover back into our home, along with a child he claimed as his heir. It ended the moment his choices nearly cost me my life and the life of one of my unborn pups. Leaving was no longer a matter of pride. It was survival.
Caden does not know the woman who walked away. He still sees the Luna who waited, who forgave, who loved without limits. He does not see Nova Ashton, a woman capable of rebuilding her identity and claiming a future on her own terms.
I will never crawl back.
Love's Deadly Equation
I was sent to her.
To watch her. To protect her. And, when the order comes… to kill her.
My name is Keegan Caffery. I’m the Carter Mafia’s best hitman. I don’t miss. I don’t fail.
At least, I didn’t use to.
I don’t know what it is about her that got to me first—her mouth, her mind, or the way she looks at me like I’m not what she should fear.
I’ve had a gun to her head since I walked into her life.
She knows it.
And she still doesn’t run.
She just watches me back like she’s studying a problem she refuses to call impossible.
She’s the one variable I can’t control.
And God help me… I don’t want to.
I have an order. I have loyalty. I have a trigger.
But every time I imagine it—
I can’t stand it.
Her or me. That’s the math.
It’s a deadly equation I don’t want to solve.
⬥ Maisie ⬥
I’m not ordinary. I stopped pretending long ago.
My name is Maisie Seo. IQ 145. Clinical genius.
Which sounds impressive until you realize what it actually means: I don’t fit anywhere people expect me to.
I see patterns everywhere. Outcomes before they happen. People like equations I’ve already solved.
It gets lonely in a world you’ve already figured out.
So I dull myself down. Smoke the edges off. Pretend, badly, to be the kind of normal that lets people stay.
Then he walked in.
I knew what he was immediately. Dangerous. Intentional. Wrong in all the right ways.
I should be afraid of him.
I keep waiting for that to kick in.
Instead, I’m fascinated.
Because for the first time in my life… I’ve found something I can’t solve.
He is my deadly equation.

Filled, Owned, and Fucked by My Best Friend’s Father
He was supposed to be off-limits. Untouchable. The kind of man you only fantasize about when you’re alone in the dark with your hand between your thighs.
But the night I caught him eating another woman alive by the pool, I couldn’t look away.
And he knew it.
The moment his dark eyes locked on mine through the glass, I became prey. His filthy smirk promised one thing—he saw me touching myself to him, and he wasn’t about to let me forget it.
Now, every time I’m in his house, I can’t breathe without thinking of his mouth between my legs.
I left my cheating boyfriend behind, only to fall into something even more dangerous:
a man who could ruin me, break me, and make me beg for his cock while his own daughter sleeps in the next room.
He’s too old. Too powerful. Too forbidden.
But Gianni doesn’t ask—he takes.
And I don’t want him to stop.
Letters to a Dark Prince
Thrown into Isteros Academy—a world of old money, blood money, and cruel social games—she's an outsider by birth and an afterthought by design. Her sister Solyn is the school's untouchable queen and Mara is her favorite target.
Everyone expects Atreus to treat his fiancée’s scholarship sister like everyone else does—as if she doesn’t matter.
Instead, his dorm room sits directly across from hers, close enough that she can see his light go out at night. Some nights, he climbs the old maintenance trellis just to check on her. He teaches her chess. He shows up exactly when something's gone wrong—and never once asks to be thanked for it.
"Don't fall in love with one piece," he warns her, over a board neither of them treats like a game anymore. "It punishes the person who only sees half of it."
Mara doesn't understand why the boy who's supposed to make her life harder keeps quietly making it easier—not until she realizes the anonymous stranger she's been writing to every week already has a name.
His.
He doesn't know he's writing to her, either.
By the time they find out, it's too late to stop what's already happening. Far too dangerous for anyone to find out.
In an empty studio, in the middle of a rainstorm, she asks him: 'Am I the kind of girl who kisses a boy engaged to my sister?'
He doesn't answer.
So she asks: 'What are we?’
He told her not to fall in love with one piece.
She fell anyway.
And he was never far behind.

He reached for the back of my head and pulled me up just enough to reach my neck. When his fangs slid into me, the pain was instant, electric. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. My hands found his shoulders, clawing for something to hold. My legs kicked. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
He moaned against my throat as he drank, and the sound was devastating.
Let Them Kneel
Cast out by her pack. Forgotten by the Lycans.
She lived among humans—quiet, invisible, tucked away in a town no one looked at twice.

Her body ignites. Her instincts scream. And something primal stirs beneath her skin—
summoning a big, bad Alpha who knows exactly how to quench her fire.
When he claims her, it’s ecstasy and ruin.
For the first time, she believes she’s been accepted.
Seen.
Chosen.
Until he leaves her the next morning—

She’ll be the dream he keeps chasing… the one thing that ever made him feel alive.
