Introduction
Chapter 1
Running through the woods, I wasn't wearing shoes, my feet bleeding, I looked back and the beast was right behind me. A big werewolf, teeth bared, blood spilling from it's mouth, pieces of flesh falling down, it jumped on top of me, my heart was beating fast enough to burst. All of a sudden my alarm went off, I sat up, it was just a nightmare. Another nightmare, I had them every night for as long as I could remember, it was a different beast every time. I rubbed my eyes and shut off my alarm. My room was still littered with boxes. We just moved in this house two days ago but I had school today, my 5th highschool. I was senior and I couldn't wait for this to be over. I would move out when I went to college. My parents tried to keep me close. Humans were becoming a rarity and I was to be betrothed to some stupid boy. I had no interest in becoming a baby machine, if it was our time to become extinct it was our time and that was it.
I finished my breakfast, my mom had left a note "We will see you at dinner, here is lunch money. Have a great day at school! Love Mom!". They were never home, my parents are hunters, once upon a time hunters killed all supernatural beings, now they only killed the evil ones, under different contracts. That was the reason why we moved all the time.
Back in my room, I put some jeans on, a white tank top. I don't bother to wear a bra, I didn't have much to put in one anyway. I brushed my teeth and looked at myself in the mirror. "You got this." I told myself. I brushed my hair and added a little mascara. I grabbed my bike keys and headed downstairs. I put my boots on and grabbed my leather jacket. I was just going to use my bike backpack for school, it was big enough. I opened the garage and rolled my bike out in the driveway, this stupid house did not have a remote for the garage. My dad said he would have it fixed but I wasn't holding my breath. I closed the door and locked it. Turning the key on my bike, I slipped my helmet on. I loved how my Ducati purred, having that much power beween my thighs felt amazing.
The school parking lot was full, I parked towards the back and closest to the gate. Locked up my helmet to my bike and headed to the registrar's office. All eyes were on me, werewolves, vampires, witches, this school had ogres and trolls too, wow. I wonder if there were any other humans.
"I am here for my schedule."
"Alice?" the gargoyle behind the desk asked.
"That's me."
She handed me my schedule, a PE uniform and a pile of books.
"On this paper is your locker number and the combination. Please let us know if you need anything else."
I walked to my locker and put all my stuff in there, then looked to see my schedule. I had English, Calculus, PE, Supernatural History, Human History and Art class. I put the my first two class books and the PE uniform in my bag. As I closed my locker, I noticed some guys looking at me. They were not vampires so werewolves. Vampires are pale, these guys had color to them. They were good looking but I didn't stare long.
"Hey, I am Katie." said a small girl with blond hair and brown eyes. Her backpack was huge. She was human.
"I'm Alice. Nice to meet you."
"Can I see your schedule?"
I handed it over, she was excited, we had some classes together. Katie told me there were only ten humans at this school. We were the only girls, the rest were boys. She was filling me on all the gossip. A huge guy walked up to us and wrapped his arm around Katie. He is human and her boyfriend. His name is Davis, he was beefy with wavy brown hair and light brown eyes.
More boys joined us, his friends. I looked over at the werewolves that were staring at me.
"Ah, they love new meat. That is Bentley in the middle, he is the Alpha. Then Jace, Zack on the left then on the right Keith and Kevin the twins. " said Davis.
"I am not interested. I don't date."
The bell rang and Katie grabbed me so we can go to English together. I stole another glance at Bentley, he smiled at me.
We sat at the back of the classroom, Bentley and the twins were in this class. He sat in the front sideways in his chair and looked at me. Our teacher was a werewolf, he had a huge scar on his neck but it only made him that more good-looking. He was tall with brown curly hair and piercing blue eyes, Mr Jones. His suit hugged his muscle covered body perfectly. I opened my book and looked through it. It was important to stay composed around supernaturals, all their senses were heightened. Us mere humans were too obvious with our feelings. I was as cool as a cucumber, I've had supernatural friends tell me I am hard to read.
A girl burst through the door, she was late and Mr Jones gave her a stern look. She took a seat behind Bentley, he leaned back and kissed her. She wasn't a werewolf though, she was a witch. They always wore flowers in their hair and of course had black tipped fingers and nails. He looked past her and at me again. She turned and glared at me, then grabbed his chin and turned him to look at her.
Mr Jones went on with his lesson. Explaining the year we had ahead and what was expected of us. I hadn't noticed Keith sat next to me, I was too busy looking at Bentley.
"Sooo, you don't date huh? What do you do?" Keith asked.
"I like to fuck around." I said with a straight face.
His mouth dropped wide open. The bell was about to ring, I put my book in my backpack, stood up and walked away.

His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.

“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.
