After I Left the Mafia Don, His Empire Fell
Hachimitsu · Ongoing · 5.3k Words
Introduction
Chapter 1
For ten years, Elena Rossi built Don Nico De Luca’s empire from blood, bullets, and broken promises. She was his shield, his strategist, his most loyal woman, until he gave another girl the tenderness he had always denied her. When Elena finally walks away, Nico thinks she can be replaced. But without her, his throne begins to crack, and the woman he took for granted rises into a future that no longer has room for him.
By the time I reached the banquet hall, Nico had already left with Serena on his arm.
I crossed to the window. From there, I could see the private helipad below.
Nico removed the custom black cloak that marked him as Don and draped it over Serena's bare shoulders, shielding her from the night wind. Then he said something to the bodyguard beside him.
The guard hurried to the helicopter and returned with a gown covered in jewels. Even from above, it caught the light like spilled fire.
It was the most prestigious ceremonial gown any Mafia family could commission. A hundred tailors worked a full year on one like it. The gold thread and pearls were rare enough to buy loyalty in three territories.
Nico leaned close to Serena's ear. Whatever he whispered made her blush. She rose on her toes and kissed his cheek.
I had seen that gown once in the Family's ceremonial protocols, back when Nico and I had barely survived the rival crews hunting us across the border. I had been flipping through the heavy old book, half starved and still shaking from the last ambush, when I pointed to the page.
"Nico, when we build our own Family one day, will you have something like this made for me? It says this gown is the Mafia's most solemn mark of devotion."
He had been harder then, all calculation and sleep deprivation. He did not even look at the drawing.
"The mob survives on guns and influence. That kind of thing is useless. A waste of resources."
I never asked again.
Now the devotion I had been ashamed to want was resting on another woman's shoulders.
What Nico had called useless had only been useless when it came to me.
The men in the private hall watched the two figures below with open envy.
"The Don really does care about her. He flies her around himself every day."
"And when she first arrived and didn't know the rules, he taught her everything. Protocol, people, the black market. Everyone in the territory knows how patient he was with her."
"Every day?" I asked.
"Every day. Never missed one."
Pain cut through my chest.
Last week, the remnants of an enemy faction had hit our port. The defense line collapsed, and I had been left alone to rally the soldiers and hold the entrance until reinforcements arrived. Shrapnel tore through my arm. I sent Nico three urgent messages.
His only reply had been, "You know the port defenses better than anyone. Handle it yourself. I'm dealing with something important."
Three days ago, the old-guard capos had tried to force logistics out of my hands. Cornered on every side, I asked Nico to step in.
"You've been with me for years," he said. "You can't handle something this small? Deal with it yourself."
I never complained. I never clung to him. I knew how bloody his rise had been. I knew how many times he had almost died before becoming Don. I had believed every absence, every cold answer, every forgotten promise had been for the Family. For our future.
The truth was simpler. His important business had been Serena.
The tears came before I could stop them.
The banquet hall had the best view in the territory, but all I could feel was the hollow space where my last excuse for him had been.
A man hurried over with a phone. "Urgent call from the Don."
The moment I answered, Nico's voice tore through the line.
"Where are you? The estate is unguarded, and logistics are a mess."
For ten years on the run, I had been his only escape route and the force at his back. When assassins came for him, I shielded him with my body. When he lost a power struggle, I used every cent and every connection I had to turn the situation around. When he finally became Don, I was the one who kept the Family's logistics alive and kept the capos from tearing each other apart.
He never handled the daily work or the faction feuds because he was certain I would always be there, cleaning up whatever he left behind.
I looked down at the flawless ruby in my palm. "I'm looking at my brooch design."
He scoffed. "Get back here now. I leave overseas tomorrow for an arms deal. I want every classified file, route, and personnel assignment ready before I go."
Always expected. Always owed.
I said nothing and hung up.
One of my men handed me the rest of the stones I had requested. I turned the pigeon's blood ruby between my fingers, satisfied. After sending it to the jeweler to be set into a brooch, I ordered my men to take me back to the castle.

Iron And Glamour Just Don't Mix
Well… Sometimes you just might turn out to be right.
It turns out, the fae stole my little brother. In his place? A pixie with boundary issues and a talent for home repairs.
I’ve spent my life taking care of everyone else. So when my baby brother is taken, I don’t hesitate. I walk straight into a faerie mansion and make a bargain with its infuriatingly charming master.
Kie is everything you’d expect from a dangerous fae, beautiful, political, and entirely too amused by me. Power wrapped in a smirk. Sensual, mischievous, and far too aware of the effect he has on people. He agrees to help me find my brother.
For a price.
Now I’m bound by a faerie bargain and navigating a world of glamour, manipulation, and ancient rules I definitely should have learned sooner, enchanted forests, political games, magical contracts, and a fae lord who treats seduction like a perfectly reasonable negotiation tactic.
Iron is how I keep people out.
Glamour is how he draws them in.
And apparently, they just don’t mix.

I should hate Kane Alexander, but the more time I spend with him, the more I long for him in ways I cannot understand. I am not here to be his lover, though. I am here to be his feeder. But even before his lips graze my skin the first time, I know I would give myself to him in every way imaginable if only he should ask. Kane: I long to taste the wolf shifter, but not her blood, her body... her essence. I want her in every way imaginable. But I'm already betrothed to marry another blood-born vampire, and if I call that off, I have resigned my kingdom to yet another war. There has to be a way to keep Emory Moonraker as my feeder but not claim her in my bed. I just haven't figured it out yet, and every time I look into her jade eyes, I forget everything and everyone but her. But I have enemies, and every moment she spends here in my home, Castle Graystone, she's in danger.

A secret they tried to protect the world from. Her only escape comes in the form of the books she reads. Stories of heat, desire, and the kind of love that could melt even her frostbitten heart.
Damien is the Beast. A dragon King with a temper forged in flame and a soul hollowed by duty. The world fears him. The people call him a monster. But beneath the scales and the rage lies a man who has never been touched by love.
When frost meets fire, the world shatters. She was never meant to leave her tower. He was never meant to find her. But destiny doesn’t bow to kings or care for cages and now the question burns through them both: Can Bella have her Beast? Or will the girl of snow melt in the heat of his desire?
.
"I’m keeping her."
"What?"
Before I can react, he scoops her up. Her small body fits easily in the cradle of his talons. For a split second, she looks startled, but not afraid. Her hand rests against one scaled finger, and she stares up at him with that same curious wonder, as though she’s already forgotten she was ever meant to fear me.
"Put her down," I try to command, panic threading through my thoughts. "You’ll hurt her."
"She’s ours," the beast insists, possessive and fierce. "Our snowflake."

Pregnant by My Husband's Rival Alpha
Those words should have destroyed me, but the truth was worse: I'd been used as a broodmare by the man who swore to love me, set up in a hotel room with a stranger because My husband Alexander Cross couldn't father children himself, and now I carried the secret babies of Damon Lester—the most powerful and dangerous Alpha in San Loris—while my own family replaced me with the daughter they'd always wanted. But when that same stranger's doctor appeared at my door, when twenty million dollars exchanged hands over a fake perfume bearing my secret identity, and when Damon's gray eyes locked onto mine with recognition I couldn't afford, I realized my carefully hidden life as the legendary perfumer Vera was colliding with a pregnancy that could cost me everything.
Could I protect my babies from the husband plotting my death, hide my true identity from the Alpha who's been hunting me for years, and reclaim the freedom I'd buried along with my dreams—even if it means standing alone against the wolves who see me as nothing more than a womb to be used and discarded?
The First Female Alpha

But I didn't cry. I didn't scream. I didn't even flinch.
Because the pain had carved me hollow long before he ever touched her.
He thinks I'm weak. That I'll stand by his side in two days, smile for the ceremony, and hand him my loyalty with the Alpha title.
But he's wrong.
I'm not the broken little Luna they think I am. I'm the storm they never saw coming.
The Pack worships him, but only I know the truth buried beneath his perfect lies. So I'll take everything he wants most—the throne, the title, the crown he was born to wear—and win it out from under him, in front of everyone who ever called me unworthy.
Screw the Pack. Screw the respect. Screw being tame.
I'm fury dressed in skin, madness wearing heels, and heartbreak turned into a goddamn weapon.
They wanted a loyal Luna??
Instead...
They created a monster.
And when the throne is finally mine...
The Pack won't remember the name of the Alpha who betrayed me.
They'll remember the woman who took his crown...
and became the First Female Alpha.
