Alpha's Desertion
Zelda Blair · Ongoing · 217.2k Words
Introduction
The Alpha is the most powerful being in the werewolf world, ruling over everyone and having complete control over everything, but not in this story. What would happen, though, if the Alpha is blindly following a centuries-old prophecy that prevents him from selecting his own mate? While some people believe in the prophecy and worry about its ramifications, others claim it is just a fallback narrative for the Alpha's extramarital affairs. As a result, the alpha will not accept the girl the elders have chosen for him and will reject his true mate even though he knows he loves her. The girl the elders selected was a power-hungry individual who merely desired to move up the social hierarchy's ladders. Feeling hurt by the rejection, Adara, his fated mate, vowed to uncover the truth. Adara develops an obsession with discovering the truth, a quest entwined with mystery and unsolved issues.
To what extent are these myths true? Did this prophecy apply only to an alpha male who could mate with any girl? Was it merely an old folktale meant to frighten people? How did the prophecy come to pass? What was the intention behind it? Except for one person, nobody knows the answers to these questions. Until it was eventually disclosed, the individual in question was unaware of anything. The curse could only be broken by someone with witchcraft power.
Chapter 1
ADARA'S POV
I was sitting on my bed with a book about the mythical creatures when my eyelid felt heavy and I couldn't help but slip into the realm of dreams, a place where memories intermingled with imagination. Closing my eyes, a vivid recollection of my childhood unfolded.
DREAM
The scene was our family home, adorned with warmth and laughter. I could hear the clinking of cutlery and the murmur of conversations as I sat at the dining table with my parents.
The air was filled with the aroma of a home-cooked meal, and the flickering candlelight cast dancing shadows on the walls. My parents, radiant with love and affection, exchanged smiles as they shared stories from their day. It was a tableau of familial bliss, frozen in time.
Suddenly, the tranquility shattered. A low growl echoed through the air, sending shivers down my spine. The room darkened as ominous shadows slinked across the walls. Red eyes gleamed in the darkness, revealing the presence of menacing wolves that had materialized within the comforting walls of our home.
My parents stiffened, their expressions shifting from joy to concern. The wolves circled, their eyes fixed on our family with an eerie intensity.
My father, a pillar of strength, stood up, protective instincts kicking in. "Adara, go! Run as far as you can! Don't look back!" he pleaded, urgency tainting his voice.
I felt a cold sweat breaking out as fear paralyzed me. The wolves, with their long teeth glistening in the dim light, growled menacingly, their eyes locked onto my parents. "Why are they here? What do they want?" I thought, my mind a whirlwind of confusion.
My mother, though frightened, spoke calmly, "Adara, sweetheart, listen to your father. Run, and don't stop. We love you." Tears welled in her eyes as the wolves closed in. I hesitated, the weight of fear holding me rooted to the spot.
With tears streaming down my face, I witnessed my mother, blood flowing from the side of her mouth, staggered forward. Despite the pain, she uttered words that resonated with both strength and sorrow. "Don't be scared, my dear princess. Avenge your parents," she implored before succumbing to the relentless assault.
The room erupted into chaos as the wolves lunged at my parents. There were desperate pleas, the clash of jaws, and agonized cries. My father, now in the clutches of a wolf, managed to shout one last command, "Go, Adara! Live!"
My father, a bastion of strength, rose to shield our family. "Run, my dear! Save yourself!" he implored, his voice teetering between desperation and determination. Shocked and frozen in place, I could only watch in horror as the wolves launched a ferocious assault on my parents.
Amidst the chaos, my father confronted the beasts, demanding answers that remained elusive. "Who are you? Why are you doing this?" he questioned, the wolves responding only with predatory snarls. The dream became a symphony of terror, the unanswered queries lingering like a dark cloud.
As the wolves overpowered my parents, my father, with a mix of disbelief and urgency, yelled, "Tell me who you are!" The wolves, shrouded in sinister silence, spared no words, their actions speaking louder than any response. The dream descended into a heart-wrenching tableau of brutality.
With tears streaming down my face, I finally found the strength to break free from my stupor. I ran the echoes of my parents' voices and the growls of the wolves haunting my every step.
The dream, a nightmarish tapestry of loss and unanswered questions lingered in my subconscious.
DREAM END
I awoke with a heavy heart, haunted by the specter of a past that demanded resolution, vowing to uncover the truth behind the red-eyed wolves and fulfill the silent mandate left by my fallen parents.
I quickly went inside the washroom and splashed some cold water on my face. It was the dream of the night when I became an orphan, a parentless child who wanted nothing more than to avenge my parents' killer.
I wore my sneakers and moved out of the house where I found my uncle sitting on the dining table with a newspaper. He looked up at me worriedly and asked, "Same dream?"
I just nodded my head in agreement and took an apple before going out of the house.
I pedaled my bicycle along the narrow trail, the rhythmic creaking of the wheels resonating through the quiet forest. The sunlight filtered through the dense canopy above, dappling the path with patches of warm golden light.
As I approached the familiar clearing, a mixture of excitement and trepidation filled me, memories of the past flooding my mind.
The old tree house stood nestled among the towering trees, its wooden planks weathered by years of exposure to the elements.
With a confident climb, I ascended the rickety ladder and entered the small haven that held a world of mystery and secrets. The air inside was filled with the earthy scent of aged wood, and the sunlight filtered through the leaves outside casting a gentle glow.
In the corner of the tree house, a faded mattress lay surrounded by a collection of worn-out pillows. I settled myself on the mattress, a flood of nostalgia washing over me.
I took a deep breath, grounding myself in the sanctuary of my childhood retreat. My small hands reached into the hidden compartment beneath the mattress, retrieving a bundle of papers wrapped in a tattered ribbon.
Carefully, I unfolded the papers, revealing a series of sketches and drawings. The images depicted strange, otherworldly creatures with long limbs and indistinct features. My brow furrowed as I studied them, the memories of the fateful night when those creatures attacked my parents resurfacing in my mind.
I traced the lines with my finger, the pencil strokes telling a story I was too young to fully comprehend at the time. The creatures' faces remained blurry in my sketches, a testament to the haziness of my childhood recollections. Yet, the urgency to understand the events that unfolded that night spurred me to revisit these drawings.
With a determined gaze, I spread the sketches across the mattress, arranging them in a sequence that hinted at a narrative. The rustling leaves outside and the distant chirping of birds accompanied me as I immersed myself in the details of each drawing, trying to unlock the secrets concealed within the lines and shadows.
As the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting long shadows in the tree house, my thoughts delved deeper into the mystery. I couldn't shake the feeling that these sketches held the key to understanding the creatures that changed the course of my life. With renewed purpose, I continued my investigation, determined to unravel the enigma that had haunted me for so long.

Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.
Bonnie has spent her entire life being broken down and abused by the people closest to her including her very own twin sister. Alongside her best friend Lilly who also lives a life of hell, they plan to run away while attending the biggest ball of the year while it's being hosted by another pack, only things don't quite go to plan leaving both girls feeling lost and unsure about their futures.
Alpha Nicholas is 28, mateless, and has no plans to change that. It's his turn to host the annual Blue Moon Ball this year and the last thing he expects is to find his mate. What he expects even less is for his mate to be 10 years younger than him and how his body reacts to her. While he tries to refuse to acknowledge that he has met his mate his world is turned upside down after guards catch two she-wolves running through his lands.
Once they are brought to him he finds himself once again facing his mate and discovers that she's hiding secrets that will make him want to kill more than one person.
Can he overcome his feelings towards having a mate and one that is so much younger than him? Will his mate want him after already feeling the sting of his unofficial rejection? Can they both work on letting go of the past and moving forward together or will fate have different plans and keep them apart?
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The War God Alpha's Arranged Bride
Yet Alexander made his decision clear to the world: “Evelyn is the only woman I will ever marry.”
Invisible To Her Bully
My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate
My drunk stepfather remained indifferent, his weight suffocating, making it hard to breathe as my heart raced.
Suddenly, the door slammed open, and two figures burst in.
"Get off her!" a deafening roar echoed.
I didn't expect the twin brothers who'd bullied me at school to come charging in like gods to save me.
After my grandmother passed, I had to move in with my mom and stepdad, who treated me like a servant. I prayed every day for my 18th birthday to come, so l could leave and escape this broken home.
However, on my first day at my new school, l encountered the legendary twins everyone feared.
To make matters worse, the Moon Goddess revealed they were both my mates!
After helping me out with my stepdad, my twin mate cornered me, played with my hair, and whispered possessively, "You belong to us, our little mate..."
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
New to the world of shifters, Draven is human on the run. A beautiful girl who no one could protect. Domonic is the cold Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack. A brotherhood of twelve wolves that live by twelve rules. Rules which they vowed could NEVER be broken.

When Draven meets Domonic, he knows that she is his mate, but Draven has no idea what a mate is, only that she has fallen in love with a shifter. An Alpha that will break her heart to make her leave. Promising herself, she will never forgive him, she disappears.
But she doesn’t know about the child she’s carrying or that the moment she left, Domonic decided rules were made to be broken - and now will he ever find her again? Will she forgive him?
Falling for my boyfriend's Navy brother
"What is wrong with me?
Why does being near him make my skin feel too tight, like I’m wearing a sweater two sizes too small?
It’s just newness, I tell myself firmly.
He’s my boyfirend’s brother.
This is Tyler’s family.
I’m not going to let one cold stare undo that.

I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.
And still—
Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.
Especially not her.
