Chapter 1
Inside the walls of a brothel, the smell of lust and desire was stronger than steel. A woman's laughter echoed within the four corners of the room. Beside her, was the man whom she had just pleasured.
Her fingers slid up his chest, tracing along the line of several scars he'd gotten from his victorious battles.
Another woman, retrieving herself from below his groin,, rested by his side, her blonde hair sprawled over her naked body
“ My Lord.." She murmured, dragging her tongue over her lips to wipe off the remnants of his releases.
" You leave and never visit for months, but then return like a starving beast” Her breath fell against his neck like a warm caress.
A curve formed by the end of his lip
" A beast that hasn't been fully fed” He replied in a tone deep enough to cause a shiver
The first woman pressed forward, leaning herself against him. Her lips grazed the line of his jaw
" Then allow us to feed you to your fill My Lord”
At once, his hand slid firmly around her waist. His movements were skilled and filled with a silent command.
Lewd moans filled the room, accompanied by the sound of creaking bed and clapping flesh
With a final thrust, he emptied his seedlings inside her well cave, falling slack like a man defeated in battle, however, a moment after, he leaneded in, going for another round when a sharp knock echoed from the door.
Jacob paused, a deep frown tainting his brows.
" My Lord” a voice called from outside but a second later, the door was pushed open.
“ Forgive my intrusion…" A hesitant voice came from non other than his squire, Luke.
.
Jacob shut his eyes briefly as if trying to calm his nerve but the tick in his jaw told otherwise.
“ What!" He asked, irritation obvious in his tone
" My Lord, there is someone here to see you”
" I don't recall scheduling any visitors,..now out”
" He says it is a matter of urgency, and has to see you at once “
The woman laying beneath him groaned in displeasure, then ran a slow hand through his hair
“ Have him wait" Jacob ordered but he should've known better that his squire would never interrupt him like so except it was something of great importance.
" He insist my Lord, he says his name is Theodore “
Silence reigned briefly. A noticeable change could be spotted on Jacob's face.
With a heavy sigh,he plunged in one last time, gaining a sharp inhale from the woman under him before pulling himself away.
With practiced composure, he reached for his clothes, fastening them on with slow reluctant movements.
The women watched him with great disappointment.
“ Will you return my Lord" she asked, successfully pulling his gaze to her but he said nothing before turning over to the door and walking out.
The path leading through the corridors lacked proper light due to the fact not all the night torches were lit.
Luke, his squire, stood stiffly with arms crossed behind him and eyes glued to the floor.
" Where is he?” Jacob asked while adjusting his cufflinks
" He is at the second lower chamber my Lord"
With a brief grunt, Jacob began walking. Luke followed closely behind.
“ Did he give any details to why he's asked for me?"
Jacob asked just as he reached the first lower chamber.
“ He refused to when I asked" Luke replied
“ Of course he did"
Soon, both men walked down through a much quiet part of the building. The second lower chamber was a reserved part, kept only for those who fit the elite role.
With a light push, Jacob opened the door.
By a dine table, a man sat comfortably with legs crossed and hands lightly draped over.
Cladded completely in black, the silver strands of his hair were neatly plied to the back. His sharp calculative eyes rose the moment Jacob walked in
" For a minute, I believed you would keep me waiting for longer"
" What do you want?”
Jacob asked, shutting the door with a loud thud.
“Have a seat" Theodore offered but instead, Jacob leaned himself against the wall, crossing both hand across his chest.
" Say whatever it is you called me for”
The man stared at Jacob for a while
" Why the rush?”
" You chose an inconvenient time”
At his words, Theodore's gaze flickered briefly to Jacob's unbuttoned shirt, immediately grabbing meaning.
" I see”
“ What have you called me for?”
Theodore gave a slight tilt of his head before answering
" It concerns the white rose”
At once, Jacob's posture stiffened.
“ What about her?"
Theodore reclined in his seat
"It appears we may need her blood alot sooner than predicted"
“Why?”
With a brief pause, Theodore clicked his tongue as if the words he wanted to say tasted bitter.
“ My experiments are…. deteriorating..faster than usual” he diverted briefly " And so you must depart for Rakai a day earlier than scheduled “
Jacob's jaw tightened at his words, a tick could be seen by his jaw.
" You assured me we had until the next full moon”
" Yes I did” Theodore replied " But as it stands, we no longer do"
A thick layer of silence stretched between them. Jacob shifted his posture briefly.
Out of this task he did, Theodore had promised him something so absurd it sounded even ridiculous to think about.
Immortality.
A desire horned by many warrior of his likes and the only way to get it, was through the White rose. A child rumored to have been born with the very essence of the goddess. With blood pure enough to grant immortality to those who consumed it.
“ These…experiments of yours.."Jacob began “ may I have a look see”
Theodore didn't respond, instead, he simply stared in silence as if in thoughts
“ Why the sudden request?" He asked
" Has your faith in my work began to dwindle"
Jacob didn't give a reply, but his silence was heavy and loud enough to push Theodore into obliging.
He stood.
“Come"
Both men descended through a low passageway, then down a row of stairs that led further down, past several wine cellars and disposable artifacts.
Soon, they entered a room, cold enough to tell the atmosphere inside here carried something dangerous.
The tight stench of blood reached Jacob before his eyes could even take in the place but once he did, he frowned at the sight.
Heavy silver chains bound in stone stretched along the walls. In the middle of the room, something resembling a man was seen, completely held with those chains.
His frame was crotched over, hiding his face, unnatural wounds were sprawled across his skin, accompanied by blood that streaked down his torso.
The chains clanked when he rose his gaze, supposedly sensing the two men that just entered. His eyes were as red as rubies, it caused Jacob to frown since he could smell it was a lycan, so why did he possess red eyes.
“ What is this?"
Jacob asked and his voice caused the man's red eyes to flicker to his frame.
They looked violent and…hungry.
" A hybrid” Theodore responded, clasping his hands behind him. His voice seemed to have alerted the man creature who immediately strained against the chains that held him but snarled harshly when the silver burned his skin.
“ A mix between the breeds of a lycan and a vampire" Theodore explained “ An enhanced creation with strength, reflexes and power"
“ It looks unstable"
Just as Jacob said those words, the hybrid lunged at him, claws extended and ready to tear at flesh but a foot away and the chains rattled, tightening against his frame to have him growl in pain.
“ It is" Theodore replied with a smile.
“Power beyond that any lycan possesses, even an Alpha wouldn't surpass in combat..but…” he paused, a low frustrated sigh left him
" They do not survive long, their lifespans are even shorter than that of a feable human, their bodies cannot sustain the dual bloodline running through their veins"
" Then what is the point if they're simply disposable weapons “
“ For now, that is all they remain, but with the blood from the white rose…just imagine…an army of them”
The hybrid lunged forward relentlessly again, closer to Jacob this time, but the chains were too strong to break. The creature snarled loudly, blood mixed with silver dropped from his mouth.
Jacob mets it's eyes, there was a speck of consciousness there, a trace of intelligence, but also there was an ounce of pain in the splatters of red within it's eyes.
“ You require the White rose for their extended life span”
" Correct, and tonight, you shall ride to Rakai, to claim her as your bride"

“Until you die!”
With that, he left. As he wished. At that moment, my wish came true; I died.
But not in a frozen pool; I was struck in the head by a bullet from afar, blood splattering everywhere—that was far more gruesome.
My consciousness began to fade, but suddenly, I opened my eyes again and found myself mopping the floor in an ordinary restaurant.
I was startled: What happened? I was reborn? This is unbelievable!
