Labor in the Forest
Coralie Sullivan · Completed · 6.5k Words
Introduction
Six months ago, my father died in a car accident. Marco took over part of the family business. One day when I was feeling down, I passed through the slums and saved a girl named Gianna who was being beaten for stealing food. I took her in as my assistant and treated her like a sister.
But when I was six months pregnant, I walked into the company break room and found Gianna in lingerie, seducing Marco.
I ordered my guards to send her back to the slums immediately.
Marco tried to plead for her. I cut him off coldly: "I don't want to see her again."
He went silent for a moment but didn't oppose my decision.
Over the next three months, Marco seemed warm and caring on the surface but grew increasingly distant. I thought he was just busy with work and decided to help him after the baby was born.
My due date is this week.
Last night, Marco lulled me to sleep like always, his voice so gentle.
But now when I wake up, I find myself lying in the middle of a deserted forest.
And my husband, holding Gianna whom I had sent away, looked at me arrogantly and said, "Since you love sending people away so much, I suppose it shouldn't be a problem for me to send you here to give birth, should it?"
Chapter 1
I'm the only daughter of a mafia leader. I married Marco, an outsider, against my father's wishes.
I ordered the guards to immediately remove her from the company.
But now when I wake up, I find myself lying in the middle of a deserted forest.
...
Cold cuts through my bones.
I open my eyes and see tree branches and night sky. I'm wearing nothing but my thin maternity nightgown.
I struggle to sit up. My belly is terrifyingly heavy. My hands and feet are freezing, I can barely feel my fingers.
"Where am I?"
Panic floods through me like a tide.
Where is this? Why am I here?
"Marco..."
I try to remember. Last night Marco put me to sleep.
Now I'm in a forest.
There's light in the distance.
I turn my head and see a glass house glowing in the darkness.
Then I see him.
Marco sits on the sofa. Gianna leans against him, wearing his black coat.
My breath stops.
She's back.
Several men smoke outside the glass house. They see me wake up and burst into laughter.
"She's awake!"
"Boss, your wife's awake!"
Marco looks at me through the glass wall, a cold smile on his lips.
My heart clenches.
Anger and shock hit me at once.
I try to push myself up off the ground, but my belly is too heavy. I fall.
My palms scrape against the rough ground. It burns.
I grit my teeth and try again.
After several attempts, I finally stand steady.
"Marco!" I shout, trembling. "This is insane! I'm nine months pregnant!"
He stands up and walks to the glass wall.
Through the transparent barrier, we lock eyes.
"You like sending people to the slums?" Marco says. "Now taste what it's like to be helpless and alone."
He pauses, his smile deepening.
"Let's see how you deliver that baby."
My legs go weak instantly.
"Marco, are you crazy?" My voice trembles.
His men burst into roaring laughter.
My chest tightens.
I shout loudly: "Don't you remember how you swore to my father you'd always protect me?"
Marco and his men laugh even harder.
That laughter is more terrifying than the cold.
"Your father is DEAD," Marco says. "Stop using a dead man to threaten me."
One of his men adds loudly: "Lady, your dad died in that car crash six months ago! Wake up!"
My heart sinks heavily.
My hands start shaking, my nails dig deep into my palms.
"This is your child too," my voice comes out hoarse. "Don't you care at all?"
Marco shrugs.
"It's just one night," he says. "You'll be fine."
He turns and walks back to the sofa. Gianna gives me a triumphant smile.
My eyes instantly turn red.
The glass house is so warm with light, while I stand in the dark forest, holding my nine-month belly, like discarded trash.
My legs shake violently.
The baby kicks me. Hard.
I press my hand to my belly and feel a strong contraction.
No. I can't give birth here.
My hand reaches for the necklace around my neck. The emergency button is hidden inside.
I press it without hesitation.

Love's Deadly Equation
I was sent to her.
To watch her. To protect her. And, when the order comes… to kill her.
My name is Keegan Caffery. I’m the Carter Mafia’s best hitman. I don’t miss. I don’t fail.
At least, I didn’t use to.
I don’t know what it is about her that got to me first—her mouth, her mind, or the way she looks at me like I’m not what she should fear.
I’ve had a gun to her head since I walked into her life.
She knows it.
And she still doesn’t run.
She just watches me back like she’s studying a problem she refuses to call impossible.
She’s the one variable I can’t control.
And God help me… I don’t want to.
I have an order. I have loyalty. I have a trigger.
But every time I imagine it—
I can’t stand it.
Her or me. That’s the math.
It’s a deadly equation I don’t want to solve.
⬥ Maisie ⬥
I’m not ordinary. I stopped pretending long ago.
My name is Maisie Seo. IQ 145. Clinical genius.
Which sounds impressive until you realize what it actually means: I don’t fit anywhere people expect me to.
I see patterns everywhere. Outcomes before they happen. People like equations I’ve already solved.
It gets lonely in a world you’ve already figured out.
So I dull myself down. Smoke the edges off. Pretend, badly, to be the kind of normal that lets people stay.
Then he walked in.
I knew what he was immediately. Dangerous. Intentional. Wrong in all the right ways.
I should be afraid of him.
I keep waiting for that to kick in.
Instead, I’m fascinated.
Because for the first time in my life… I’ve found something I can’t solve.
He is my deadly equation.
The Lycan Kings and the White Wolf.
MOONLIT CHASE
But no, I had to walk through the park at midnight like an idiot. Now I've seen something I can't unsee—a massive black wolf tearing apart three men, then shifting into the hottest guy I've ever laid eyes on.
Kieran Vaughn. Wealthy lawyer, werewolf, and apparently, he thinks I'm his mate.
Here's the problem: I don't do relationships. I definitely don't do supernatural things. I absolutely don't do rich guys who think they can control my life just because their inner wolf has decided I smell like home.
When hunters start targeting me to get to him, Kieran drags me into his pristine penthouse for "protection." Now I'm living with a man who looks at me like I'm his last meal, whose touch sets my skin on fire, and who's barely holding onto his control.
He says everyone he loves dies. I say that's not my problem except it is because I'm falling for this broken, dangerous man and his beast.
And in his world? Love will get you killed.
My Billionaire Husband's Secret
He was the CEO of the Blackwood Group — a man whose wealth and power eclipsed ninety-nine percent of the world.
He was gentle. Romantic. Attentive. I fell for him fast.
But a year into our marriage, I began to notice something — a pattern.
Lucas's sexual appetite was intense — he wanted me almost every night. Yet every single month, he arranged a solo trip to send me away. I told myself it was his way of spoiling me.
Then a message arrived from someone called Sweet An.
Do you really know your husband?
From that day on, my life filled with shadows.
I suspected my husband of having an affair.
When Lucas and I made love, something felt wrong — his body too large, too much, like something I couldn't explain.
I heard sounds during sex — animal sounds, like something feral had crawled into bed with us.
My best friend Mia said: "There are men sick enough to let dogs fuck their wives."
The family doctor, Daisy, told me: "You could never stay by Lucas's side forever. Your background doesn't make you worthy of being his wife. Do you understand?"
I went looking for whoever had been tearing my marriage apart. I fought to win my husband back.
But the deeper I searched, the larger the secret grew — something far darker hiding beneath this supposed betrayal.
Does Lucas truly love me?
And why, out of everyone in the world, did he choose to marry me?
