What started as amusement for Nathan turns into a battle of wills.

Will they be able to overcome this new truth and find a way to rebuild what they had constructed, or will this secret be the end of any possibility of reconciliation?
Chapter 1
Suzanne was nervous as she tried to make everything look perfect for the arrival of her new boss: Mr. Strong.
People said he was a cold man who always had something grumpy to say, but she was willing to endure it since she needed the money badly.
The bills kept piling up, and her father had started feeling unwell, so she had to take him to the doctor as soon as possible.
"Remember not to say more than necessary and always be helpful and kind," they warned her in the office.
Nathan Strong's car arrived at the Heathrow building after a long flight and being stuck in traffic for over an hour.
His mood was worse than ever.
"I hate New York," he snapped coldly and impersonally, receiving a monosyllabic response from his chauffeur.
As an Englishman accustomed to London, he felt that city full of noise and people was overrated.
He headed towards the entrance and without further ado made his way to the elevator, sighing every two seconds due to its slowness.
He hadn't met his secretary yet, but she had been described as a young woman with honey-colored eyes and wavy, silky hair as dark as coffee, efficient, and very intelligent.
The latter mattered more to him; her physical features were indifferent to him anyway, as she wasn't his type.
The imposing man walked towards his office, and then she abruptly emerged from the room, colliding head-on. Nathan had good reflexes as he quickly caught her before she hit the floor.
She moved away from his reach and apologized without lifting her gaze, feeling very embarrassed by what had happened. Her eyes were fixed on those pairs of impeccable black leather shoes.
"Miss, be careful! Can't you see where you're going?" he snapped when he noticed she had frozen, starting to feel somewhat irritated.
Suzanne immediately deduced that the man must be wealthy. One didn't have to be an expert to know that a person of limited means couldn't afford a pair of shoes like those.
"Hey, are you listening to me?" The man's strong voice interrupted her thoughts.
She looked at him and smiled, irritated.
"Did you just smile?" He asked, his eyes narrowing and growing colder.
"Ugh!" Suzanne ran her hands through her soft brown hair and looked at the man in front of her. "You weren't raised properly, no one taught you how to apologize!"
Her words and attitude caught him off guard.
Suzanne wasn't accustomed to being trampled by anyone, especially not by a man who seemed rich and thought he could get away with anything.
"What?" The man's lips tightened, and his forehead creased. "Did you just talk that pedantic way to me?â
"Of course I am, who else is standing behind you, or do you have a ghost next to you?" Suzanne asked, raising her chin towards him to show how fearless she was.
"The nerve of this girl!" His eyes were ablaze as he assessed her, feeling like he could strangle her at any moment. "Do you have any idea who you're talking to right now?"
Suzanne briefly closed her eyes; this was not how she wanted to start her new job, by getting into a spat with someone she didn't even know.
She was already tired of this argument; it was starting to anger her.
"Look, mister out-of-nowhere," she tilted her head to the side and looked him up and down. "We both made a mistake, that's it. Don't act like I've committed a sin, okay? Go on your way and leave me alone; I'm waiting for my boss."
"But I am..."
"I don't care who you are!" she waved her hand. "If you're not capable of apologizing, then move on.â
"Mr. Strong, welcome!" greeted one of the employees, and she froze in place, her heart pounding.
"Strong?" She almost didn't dare to look up, swallowed hard, and noticed cold gray eyes looking at her with curiosity and some irritation.
"Are you going to apologize or not?" he snapped, and Suzanne nodded repeatedly. "You're clumsy and also rude..."
"Oh no, sir," she quickly began to explain. "I apologize for the confusion; I didn't see you, and I truly regret how IâŠ"
"Move along now; I've run out of patience," he said sternly, and she blushed, utterly embarrassed. "Where is my new secretary, Rose?"
He ignored the girl for a few seconds until she timidly raised her hand. She felt somewhat upset by her boss's treatment, but she couldn't make a scene at that moment.
"You need the money, don't lash out at your boss on the first day, Suzie," she thought fervently.
"Mr. Strong, Miss Peyton is your new secretary," Mrs. Spencer coughed, feeling somewhat uncomfortable. "She's usually very efficient, andâŠâ
She stopped abruptly when Nathan gestured with his hand, rolling his eyes in the process.
"Did I hear correctly? You're telling me that this rude girl who bumped into me is my secretary, and to top it off, she can't even introduce herself properly... or offer me a coffee...!â
"I-I'll bring it right away, sir."
Suzanne felt like she had grown wings. She was both flustered and annoyed, not just because of the incident and her lack of manners, but also because of his gaze, which had roamed her from head to toe in the last few seconds.
Her chest rose and fell rapidly, and she felt her cheeks getting warm, attributing this sensation to embarrassment and, why not, anger as well.
He watched her leave, not without scanning her body once again. He inspected her from top to bottom with those cold, calculating eyes.
Nathan Strong cursed under his breath as he felt a certain part of his anatomy starting to stir just from looking at her. Those voluptuous curves were a temptation, even though the girl dressed modestly. He had noticed that beneath that simple and unattractive attire, there was a tantalizing body.
He struggled to control himself; it was the first time he had reacted like this to a woman, but he had to admit that this girl was different in many ways.
Not even those glamorous women he used to date were like her. Miss Peyton had full, red lips. She was beautiful even though she wore no makeup; her beauty was natural.
Within moments, he knew he wanted her in his bed.
He was tired of the frivolous women he used to sleep with; he needed a change. Something new, different, and that girl was exactly what he was looking for. She was like a breath of fresh air in the middle of the desert.
She couldn't be more different, and yet, he liked that even more.
Suddenly the blonde he had a date night with seemed unattractive to him. He decided he would cancel the evening date since he wouldn't be able to focus on such a memorable image of magnificent hips.
"God, this will be a very fun problem," he thought to himself with a wolfish smile.
Suzanne handed the coffee to her boss almost without looking at him; she could feel how that man scrutinized her, and it made her nervous because she had never felt comfortable with her voluptuous body.
It was something she had struggled with for years, but she still found it difficult to look in the mirror and see her reflection; she couldn't feel at ease and couldn't understand the looks her new boss gave her so brazenly.
She tried to focus on work, acting very professionally and strictly, noticing a hint of amusement in Nathan Strong's gestures, a man who, although cold and somewhat cruel, seemed rather dangerous to her.
She could barely imagine what would come with her new boss, a man who was sexy and devilishly attractive.

The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasnât finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached â not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

One thing I know: now is the time.
