Introduction
With all of these, two years ago, I chose to leave.
Two years later, I'm a powerful, attractive she-wolf.
It was at this time, my Alpha mate reappeared. He tried to get me to come back to him, but he didn't even recognize it was me!
I rejected him, but he didn't give up.
And slowly, I realized that he was different from what I remembered.
Just like me, he had the same many secrets in that buried past......
Should I reject him again?
Chapter 1
Angel's POV
"Hey mutt, how dare you come out? You still have no wolf, right?"
"Look at her stupid face, who wants a mate like her? Disgusting!"
With a spit on my face, I was pushed hard to the ground and my clothes were covered with mud. Various mocking voices came into my ears, and I could feel the malice of these people.
Yes, as a member of the Moon Crescent Pack, I was the only one who had no wolf so far. The other werewolves looked down upon me and bullied me because of that.
I wiped the spit and raised my head to look around. Holding the slightest hope, I wished someone could stop them and protect me. In the crowd, I saw my brother, Micheal, just a stone's throw away. However, he gazed at me emotionlessly and then left, as if he didn't know me at all.
I know he still blamed me for my parents' death.
My parents used to be the bravest warriors in the Moon Crescent Pack, but they died for protecting me in a battle between two packs. Since then, I was ostracized, ridiculed, and no one liked me.
"Hey, Danna." They emptied a lane and Danna stepped out from between them. She looked down at me and gave me a hard kick.
She laughed, "Hello again, Angel. Didn't I tell you not to show up in front of me? Your face really makes me sick."
Danna used so much force that my legs hurt. Unexpectedly, an inexplicable feeling sprang up in my heart like something was roaring and about to come out.
Looking into her eyes, I asked, "Why can't I come out? This is my home pack."
"Home pack?" Danna's tone was mocking, "A weak, ugly, fat, clumsy girl like you don't deserve to stay in our pack. If I were you, I would leave here right now! How can an eighteen-year-old werewolf have no wolf?"
I clenched my fists and my whole body trembled. Miserably, what she said was right.
"No wolf, no mate. Angel, why do you have the courage to stay in the pack?"
Oh mate, her words made my heart ache again.
I turned eighteen today, and it was logical that every wolf could sense their mate on this day, which was why I was out today.
Danna noticed my twinkling eyes and she glared at me, saying incredulously, "You're not out looking for your mate, are you? Huh, you're so weak, the mate you found must be weak, too!"
"Are you kidding? Maybe your mate saw it was you and went to hit the wall in a fit of anger!" Danna's friend also teased.
These words were like a knife that pierced into my heart.
Why? Why do they humiliate me like this?
Is it just because I'm not strong enough?
I didn't believe what they said, and I still had expectations of my mate. He must not be, as they say. I am his mate and he will protect me!
A voice in my heart echoed the sentiment, and my movements froze for a second, then I looked in one direction and I sensed something.
I smelled a wonderful aroma, like a mixture of vanilla, rose, and orchids. It is so addictive. I closed my eyes and slowly went to perceive it.
It was like some creature slowly awakened, and a slightly husky voice broke into my mind, "It's him, our mate has appeared!"
Who's speaking?
Is this my wolf?!
My wolf and my mate have appeared together!
It seems that I should be happy, but I almost cried out. I tried to get up, but Danna kicked me again, and I fell to the ground again, surrounded by her companions.
'I'm sorry, I just woke up and I'm weak now, I may not be able to help you.' My wolf's name was Slade, her eyes turned red and she looked angry at the person who hit me.
"It's ok." I wasn't very surprised, I could feel her weakness, but I don't know if it was just my illusion. I always felt that there was much more under the surface of her weakness.
Danna turned around and ran in the direction I had just looked in.
She ran slowly, like a lady, not at all looking as fierce as when she had just hit me.
"Gabriel!" Danna shouted out, even her voice was much softer. "Are you here to see me? I know you care about me!"
I kept my eyes on the other side and widened at the name.
Gabriel! My mate is Claw Gabriel Rennon, the Alpha of Moon Crescent Pack.
I wanted to shout out to him, but Danna's friend covered my mouth and pulled me behind a tree.
I turned my head and could barely see Danna talking to Gabriel through a gap between a bunch of people.
Gabriel didn't answer Danna. He glanced around and it was difficult for him to see me.
Danna stopped Gabriel, who was ready to leave.
She asked directly, "Gabriel, can I be your mate? You're the leader of the pack, you need a mate! I'll turn eighteen in a few days, and I can be your mate!"
Gabriel is the Alpha of the Moon Crescent Pack, and also the strongest, handsome man of the pack. God seemed to be extraordinarily patient with him, giving him blond hair, a high nose, and sensual lips. He is a gift from God.
And Danna was the most sought-after she-wolf of the Moon Crescent Pack by the males.
They looked perfect for each other, but Gabriel was my mate!
"Gab-" I tried to shout out, but Danna's friend stopped my struggle.
She shouted in a low voice, "Shut up!"
Gabriel's eyes are a charming dark grey. I hold the firm belief that nobody could escape from his intimate gaze. He looks like a French model in the series EMILY IN PARIS.
But now he didn't look in a good mood as he glanced at Danna: "Only the strongest she-wolf is qualified to be my mate."
I have to admit that my heart hurt when I heard that as if it was being squeezed hard.
I didn't even dare to struggle anymore.
Gabriel needed a mate who was strong enough to know how to fight, but I was just an ugly, weak she-wolf.
Would he be disappointed to see me?
I shuddered to think of the look in Gabriel's eyes.
'You're sad.' My wolf suddenly voiced out. In her mind, finding her mate was something to be happy about.
'As you heard, I'm not the type of mate he wants.'
'But he's our mate, we're a gift from the moon goddess, and you should trust them!'
Really? Hope sprouted in me again.
I saw Danna glance my way, smile nastily, and then put her arms around Gabriel: ''And what if someone is eighteen years old but has no wolf? Is such a she-wolf worthy of being your mate?"
Gabriel was out of patience, his voice was as cold as ice: "How dare such a loser to stay in our pack? I am ashamed to have a mate like that, I would have rejected her."
Those words completely shattered me, and I almost forgot to breathe. I felt the whole world tremble violently.
I knew that Danna had succeeded.
She had peeked into my diary and she knew I had a crush on Gabriel. And Danna likes Gabriel too! She meant to do that!
Danna smiled, "Gabriel, can we have a date tonight?"
"Not available." Gabriel turned around to leave.
"How about tomorrow?" Danna kept pace with him.
As they were out of sight, the crowd dispersed and Danna's friend left.
'Hurry! Let's go find our mate!' Slade said.
My whole body was out of energy. I stood up and walked in the direction of home.
'Walk the other way!' Slade reminded me.
'I don't want to go to him! He doesn't even like me! He's going to reject me!'
I probably shouted too loudly inside my mind and Slade fell silent and didn't force me to go to my mate anymore.
I got kicked twice in the leg by Danna and it hurt, so I hobbled home.
On the way, I met my brother Michael, who was talking with his friends.
He noticed that I was walking strangely, and he headed to me.
Every time he looked at me, it made me feel like I was the most criminal person in the world.
"What did you do? Get into a fight with someone? Why do you always act like a kid?" His tone was so impatient.
"I'm eighteen now! I'm an adult! Today is my birthday, do you still remember?"
At first, there was confusion in his eyes, but soon, it turned to hate.
"Your birthday? Do you still have the will to celebrate your birthday? Have you forgotten the day our parents died?" He shouted at me.
Our parents died on my fifteenth birthday.
Michael always thought I should be responsible for my parent's death. He hates me, treating me like an enemy.
I didn't know how to answer him.
"Why should my parents save you? It's totally not worth it! Go away, I don't want to see you again!"
Michael's words were like a hand gripping my heart, which began to ache violently.
I suddenly developed a strange resentment towards my companions, my mate, and even my family!
The air here makes me feel depressed. No one likes me, and as Gabriel said, I don't deserve to be in this pack at all!
I've had enough of this!
Michael looked at me angrily and I turned away, panicking in my steps.
'What do you want?' Slade asked me.
'I'm getting out of here!'
I went home and started packing my things to leave.
'I need a kind of new life to help me forget all the bad things here!'
I'm sorry that Slade had to be separated from her mate just after he showed up, but I had to leave.
I don't know where I got the courage. I don't have the money, and I don't know where to go. But I just made the decision to leave. I know that if I kept staying here, I would only get more disgusted with myself.
Before I left, I took one last look at my home, which was filled with countless happy memories. Of course, I was sad to leave, but for me, living here again would only make me traumatic.
Before I left, I said "goodbye" softly.
Unfortunately, no one cares whether I stay or leave.
