How is the next story?
Chapter 1
Zara's POV
The breeze penetrated the depths of my pores. Feeling so cold this morning. As usual, my father really likes to watch television shows accompanied by a cup of hot black coffee. Likewise, my younger sibling, who is still a teenager, still likes to watch cartoons in the morning before going to school. So it is not uncommon for there to be an argument between my father and my younger sibling. They fight over the television remote.
"Come on, Dad! Just a moment before I go to school." Zena begged, pleading like a child.
"No way! Cartoons are not more important than the news." My father said while folding his arms across his chest and holding the remote with his hands. Like a child who doesn't want to lose.
Zena grabbed the remote from her father. My father snatched it back from Zena's hand. Both of them acted as if they were still small and so childish.
"Zena, you are already a teenager, and you are a girl; why do you still like to watch cartoons? Let Dad stay on the news!" I said to break it up because I felt dizzy seeing their behavior which was out of control.
"But, Zara..." Zena looked reluctant to me.
"But what? I won't give you pocket money today if you keep acting like a child." I threatened Zena.
"Hmm, okay." Zena weakened and gave the television remote back to my father.
Immediately my father took the remote that Zena handed over. My father immediately changed the television station channel according to his wishes. Until I heard a broadcast that voiced exclusive news. New news about a rare phenomenon that occurred in almost all parts of the world. The worst is in my country, especially my city, which is experiencing the highest spike in numbers regarding the impact of this phenomenon.
Approximately the core of the news was about a rare phenomenon around women. Where there has been a low birth rate lately. Not due to the practice of the free child concept trend. But this concerns scientific matters. Many reports have been censused that women experience menopause at an early age. In the age range under thirty years old, even tending to approach the age that should still be productive in the range of twenty to twenty-five more. This is clearly a very strange thing. This phenomenon does not happen to a handful of people. But in many cases, women experience it. It is truly beyond reason.
"Here are the warm snacks ready... Sandwiches made by me with love." My mother came to break our view and focus on the news on television. Proudly and happily, My mother carried a pile of sandwiches on a plate that she carried in her hands.
“Shut!!!" Suddenly, we were a little annoyed with my mother and simultaneously turned our heads together to signal her to be quiet. Because we were focused on listening to the scary and strange news.
My mother's expression looked guilty and she even joined in watching the news program. We watched the news until it was cut off by an advertisement.
"Zena, you'll be late, let's go!"
"Oh yeah, that's right, then I'll go now." Starting to realize and rush to leave.
"Hey, wait, I have prepared provisions for Zena." While taking food supplies in a closed container and giving them to Zena.
Zena paused and waited for my mother.
"Hurry up, Mom!"
"Patience, wait a minute!"
"I might oversleep, I'll be late soon."
"Yes, yes, here." My mother om came in a hurry.
Zena received the food supplies from her.
She had just turned around when she suddenly slapped her forehead.
"Oh yeah, I forgot."
"What else?" My father asked.
Zena turned around and started asking me for pocket money.
"As usual, hehe..."
"Hmm." I gave her the usual amount.
"Hehe.. thank you, Dad, Mom, Zara, I am going now.”
Hmm, she is still so childish because she is in the transition period from childhood to adolescence. Around the age of thirteen to fourteen. But she has not yet menstruated. So it is natural that maybe that makes her feel like she is still a spoiled child.
After Zena left, my mother and father continued to remind me to go to work soon.
"Aren't you going to work now, Zara?"
"Yes, you will also be late if you keep hanging around here for too long."
"Oh yes, I will go now." Since earlier I have been ready with my clothes and equipment that I usually bring every time I go to work.
"Yes, this is your food supply."
"Yes, thank you, ma'am. Okay, Dad, Mom, I'm going to work."
"Yes, be careful, Zara."
I also drove the car myself. Driving the car at the usual speed. Along the way, everything was safe, nothing strange. Until the point where I arrived at the hospital gate. Everything seemed different and it felt like something was strange this time.
I turned on my car horn, hoping to be heard by the hospital security who was off guard trying to park his car in front of mine. Until I arrived in front of the security post and he turned to me while saluting as usual. I smiled and then began to question the strangeness of today that I had witnessed.
"What's wrong?" I asked curiously.
"Many patients are complaining."
"Huh, what patients?" I became even more curious.
Because there were so many of them and they seemed to be queuing in droves, even past the entrance. However, there were many young women, especially teenagers and young adults.
"It's like it was broadcast on the television news." explained the security guard.
"Wow..." It turned out that the news was true, not just a gimmick.
I thought that this had something to do with the country's ongoing politics or related to pharmacology business tricks. Hmm, I don't know, it just feels very strange. This is the first phenomenon I have encountered in my life so far. Hoping that everything would be fine, I immediately drove my car back to the parking lot and said goodbye to the security guard. When I arrived at the parking lot, without waiting any longer, I immediately rushed into my office. But to get inside, I had to squeeze through the gaps in the deep-rooted queue. Pushing to get inside the room. Passing the registration counter, I finally arrived inside. Although it felt very stuffy, even my appearance was a little messy because I had been pushed. So it looked a little shabby. I shook off the dust that was stuck to my work jacket. Moreover, the color of this jacket was white and there were very striking stains on it.
“Huh." Taking a deep breath and letting it out of my mouth.
Feeling relieved because I had just gotten out of the crowd. The people around here were looking at me very strangely. I remained focused on getting to my office and had the chance to meet the person I knew best.
"Hey, you."
"Did you just arrive, Zara?"
She whispered with meaningful caution.

He didn't finish. He didn't need to.
I didn't tell him to stop.
Instead, my fingers curled into his shirt, clutching the fabric as though it was my only anchor. Something in him snapped—something he had been holding back for too long. His mouth found mine in a kiss that wasn't tender, but hungry, desperate.
I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.
