Introduction
Sophia's ironclad empire comes under threat when investigative journalist Ethan Cross uncovers incriminating evidence linking the Moretti family to a series of high-profile crimes. Determined to protect her empire, Sophia confronts Ethan with a shocking ultimatum: marry her to shield her family’s name and gain her protection, or face total destruction. What begins as a calculated arrangement between two enemies soon spirals into a dangerous game of trust, passion, and ambition.
Ethan, a former ethical hacker with his own troubled past, challenges Sophia in ways she never expected. As their forced alliance deepens, they uncover a web of betrayal that stretches to Sophia’s inner circle. Together, they must navigate rival mafia families, high-stakes cyber warfare, and their own emotional vulnerabilities to survive.
Blending intense action with emotional depth, Queen of Shadows explores themes of power, gender dynamics, and morality in the digital age. Sophia must confront not only her enemies but also her own fears of trust and vulnerability. As the lines between enemy and ally blur, both Sophia and Ethan are forced to question everything they believed about loyalty, love, and the cost of control.
In the end, Sophia must decide, will she protect her empire at all costs, or risk everything for a chance at love?
Chapter 1
The rain lashed against the towering windows of the penthouse, streaking the city skyline with fleeting silver. Inside, the room buzzed with quiet menace. Sophia Moretti, the Queen of the Moretti empire, sat at the head of a long marble table, her manicured fingers tapping a deliberate rhythm. Across from her, Ethan Cross, his jaw tight with defiance, refused to be cowed by her piercing gaze.
"Do you know why you're here, Mr. Cross?" Sophia's voice was low and measured, carrying the weight of authority that made grown men tremble.
Ethan shifted in his seat but held her gaze. "I know enough. Enough to bring you down."
Sophia’s lips curled into a half-smile, amusement flickering briefly in her emerald-green eyes. She leaned back, crossing her legs with the elegance of a panther sizing up its prey. "Bold of you to assume that. But let me correct your assumption, you are not here to take me down. You’re here because I’ve already won."
She slid a sleek tablet across the table. Ethan hesitated before picking it up. His eyes darted over the screen, widening as he scrolled through its contents. Bank statements, encrypted files, surveillance footage, it was a dossier of his life, his secrets laid bare.
"How...?" His voice trailed off, disbelief mingling with dread.
"Your mistake was underestimating me," Sophia said, her tone devoid of sympathy. "You thought you could dig into my family’s affairs without consequence. I’ve been watching you, Mr. Cross. Every keystroke, every email, every whispered conversation. You’re impressive, I’ll admit. But you’re not as invisible as you think."
Ethan slammed the tablet down, anger flaring in his eyes. "So what now? Blackmail? You think you can control me?"
Sophia’s smile didn’t falter. "Control you? No. Collaborate with you? Yes." She leaned forward, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "I need someone with your skills, someone who can think outside the box. In return, I’ll ensure that none of this" she gestured to the tablet, "...sees the light of day. And more importantly, you stay alive."
Ethan snorted, his defiance returning. "And if I refuse?"
Sophia’s expression hardened. "Then you’ll find out just how far I’m willing to go to protect my family. Your reputation, your career, your loved ones.... everything you’ve built will crumble. But that would be a waste of talent, don’t you think?"
Ethan stared at her, the weight of her words sinking in. She wasn’t bluffing. Everything about her, from her calculated demeanour to the steel in her voice, told him she was a woman who didn’t make idle threats.
"What’s the catch?" he asked finally, his voice tight.
Sophia’s smile returned, but this time, it was edged with something darker. "You’ll marry me."
The room fell silent, save for the rhythmic pounding of the rain. Ethan blinked, convinced he’d misheard her. "Excuse me?"
"You heard me," Sophia said, her tone as sharp as a blade. "A public alliance will cement my position and throw my enemies off balance. And you, Mr. Cross, will have the privilege of being untouchable, under my protection."
Ethan let out a harsh laugh. "You’re insane if you think I’ll go along with this."
Sophia stood, the motion fluid and commanding. She circled the table, her heels clicking softly against the marble floor. "Insane? Perhaps. But I didn’t rise to the top of the Moretti empire by playing it safe. And neither will you, Ethan. This is your chance to rewrite the rules, to be more than a journalist scratching at the surface of power. You could stand at its very centre."
She stopped behind him, leaning in close. He could feel the heat of her presence, the scent of her subtle perfume. "Or," she murmured, "you could walk out of here and watch everything you care about burn."
Ethan’s hands clenched into fists. Every instinct screamed at him to fight back, to call her bluff. But deep down, he knew she wasn’t bluffing. Sophia Moretti wasn’t just a mafia boss; she was a strategist, a predator who always stayed ten steps ahead.
"What’s in it for me?" he asked, his voice strained.
Sophia moved back to her seat, satisfaction flickering across her face. "Power. Protection. Access to resources you’ve only dreamed of. And, of course, the opportunity to stay alive. A generous offer, wouldn’t you agree?"
Ethan exhaled slowly, the weight of her proposition settling on his shoulders. He was trapped, and they both knew it. But if he was going to survive this, he needed to play the game, and play it well.
"Fine," he said finally. "But don’t think for a second that this makes me your puppet."
Sophia’s smile widened, a spark of amusement in her eyes. "Oh, Mr. Cross, I wouldn’t dream of it. Welcome to the family."
As Ethan rose to leave, he caught a flicker of motion outside the penthouse window. A surveillance drone hovered in the darkness, its red light blinking ominously. It was a subtle but chilling reminder of who was now in control. Behind him, Sophia watched his retreating figure, her expression unreadable. For the first time in years, she felt the stirrings of uncertainty. She had always played to win, but had she just invited a danger she couldn’t predict into her empire?

Accardi
“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
