Chapter 1
The day my mother succumbed to complications during childbirth, her younger sister, Vanessa, wed my father.
Fifteen years later, I beheld my husband accompanying Vanessa as she tried on seductive lingerie.
In that moment, I understood—what she truly coveted was never my father, but rather all that my mother and I shared.
My mother perished during childbirth, a casualty of an illicit affair.
I vowed not to repeat that tragic cycle.
Then I returned home, removed my wedding ring, and left behind the divorce papers.
......
Fifteen years ago that summer, my mother died on the operating table. Two lives lost.
Later I learned that she had discovered the affair between my father and her sister Vanessa, and the emotional breakdown triggered premature labor.
She was carrying a boy—the son my father had always wanted.
But what did it matter?
My mother died, the baby died, and Vanessa became my stepmother.
Due to public pressure, they kept it low-key—just registered their marriage.
My father's sister, my fierce Aunt Vivian, cut ties with my father completely over this. She took me in to raise, and I never called that man "Father" again.
History always repeats itself in shocking ways.
That day, when I passed by the downtown lingerie boutique, I saw the scene I least wanted to see in my life.
Henry was helping Vanessa shop for lingerie. Vanessa posed in front of the mirror, laughing coquettishly at Henry.
My heart stopped beating in that instant.
She was at it again. She would take my husband just like she took my father.
I stood outside the window, fingers ice-cold, nails digging into my palms.
Three years ago at that business gala, I first met Henry Sorensen.
He stood among the crowd, handsome and distinguished, talking with several investors. Sorensen Tech was his baby—built from scratch, reaching industry prominence in five years.
Aunt Vivian held my arm and whispered, "That's Henry. I've been observing him for a long time. Capable, intelligent, not the type to fool around."
I knew what my aunt was implying. She was telling me Henry was different from my father.
After the gala ended, Henry came over to talk to me.
We chatted for less than ten minutes before he said directly, "Miss Winters, I'd like to pursue you."
I froze.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because you look very unhappy," he said, his gaze intense. "I want to make such a beautiful woman smile."
I refused. Not because he wasn't good enough, but because I was afraid. Afraid that if I gave my heart away, all I'd get in return was betrayal and death.
My mother had taught me that lesson with her life.
But Henry didn't give up. He pursued me for three months, never getting upset when rejected, only saying, "That's okay, I can wait."
Aunt Vivian also pushed from the sidelines: "Ella, you can't condemn all men just because of that bastard Charles. Henry is different. He's rational, restrained, he won't do those bastard things. He's exactly the kind of person you need."
Eventually, I agreed.
On our wedding day, when Aunt Vivian placed my hand in Henry's, her eyes reddened. She said, "Henry, I'm entrusting her to you. You must treat her well."
Henry squeezed my hand and said, "I will."
I believed him. I thought this time would truly be different. But reality slapped me hard in the face.
I knew I couldn't repeat my mother's fate. I couldn't die in despair and let Vanessa smile at my funeral.
Just as I had vowed, I left my wedding ring and the signed divorce papers on the table.
Two hours later, I sat on Aunt Vivian's couch.
After a long silence, I finally spoke: "Aunt Vivian, you once called my father a bastard."
"But Henry—what's the difference?"
I remembered that day—Vanessa and my father's anniversary party.
Also the death anniversary of my mother and the brother who never got to be born.
Henry had urged me: "You and your father have been at odds for fifteen years. Are you going to keep this up forever? Tonight is an opportunity to mend things."
The party was held in the most luxurious hotel ballroom downtown. As soon as I walked in, I saw walls covered with sweet photos of Vanessa and my father. The huge anniversary cake had "Love and Rebirth" written on it, decorated with white roses.
How ironic. The day my mother died, she didn't even get a single decent flower.
Vanessa walked over with a wine glass. "Ella, I'm so glad you came. We're family."
I looked at her expressionlessly and said nothing.
Henry nudged my arm and whispered, "Say something. Don't make this awkward for everyone."
I still didn't speak.
Vanessa's eyes immediately reddened, as if she'd suffered the greatest injustice.
Henry sighed and said:
"It's been fifteen years. Vanessa is now your father's legitimate wife and your aunt. You share blood. Why make the relationship so difficult?"
"Perhaps your mother's spirit wouldn't want to see you like this either. If she were still here, she'd surely want you to let go of the past and live well."
"How can you be married two years and still be so unchanged? Always overthinking, so stubborn."
Then Vanessa walked toward the cake and smiled, beckoning to me: "Ella, come, let's cut the cake together."
When I didn't move, Henry reached out and grabbed my wrist, pulling me toward the cake table.
In that moment, I understood completely—he had already taken Vanessa's side.
I shook off his hand, walked to the cake, and pushed it over with both hands.
The cake crashed to the floor, shattering into a mess.
The entire room went silent.
I looked at my father and asked, word by word: "Charles Winters, do you remember what day it is today?"

"Let me see."
My hands dropped to my sides.
I lowered myself into his lap, facing him. His eyes peered into mine, and I could feel his hot breath fan my face. His dick responded to all my moves, hardening against my now-moist vagina. I swallowed hard, allowing my lips to part in a ragged breath. His hands trailed up to my waist.
