Stella · Completed · 5.9k Words
Introduction
“Selena, apologize to Shirley publicly—across every platform—or I’ll drop her into the sea.”
Watching my grandmother’s terrified face suspended in midair, my voice trembled with pain:
“Elvis, just because I called her a homewrecker… you’d threaten Grandma’s life?”
Elvis smiled, his tone dripping with indulgence. “Shirley isn’t like you. She’s sensitive.”
“Besides, I’m only asking you to apologize. It doesn’t mean I’ve stopped loving you.”
Loving me?
I stared at the 999 intimate photos of him and Shirley on my phone, feeling as if my heart had been brutally stabbed.
If that was his idea of love, then I wanted no part of it.
I texted my mentor: “I accept the offer. I’ll go abroad for the design competition in seven days.”
In seven days, I’ll stage my death and disappear—where he can never find me again.
Chapter 1
The night my husband, Elijah's female assistant Shirley, threatened suicide for the 99th time, he hung my grandmother from a helicopter.
"Selina, apologize to Shirley online, or I'll drop her into the sea."
Looking at my grandmother's terrified face in mid-air, I was in so much pain my voice was shaking: "Elijah, I just said she was a homewrecker, and you're threatening me with my grandmother's life?"
Elijah smiled, his tone full of affection: "Shirley isn't like you, she's sensitive."
"Besides, I'm just asking you to apologize, I'm not saying I don't love you anymore."
Love me?
Looking at the 999 intimate photos of him and Shirley on my phone, my heart felt like it had been stabbed.
If this is what he calls love, I don't want it anymore.
I sent a message to my mentor: "I agree. I'll go abroad for the design competition in seven days."
In seven days, I'll fake my death and leave, so Elijah can never find me again.
Just as I put away my phone, my grandmother's terrified scream came through the surveillance feed.
The helicopter suddenly dropped rapidly, and my grandmother was shaking all over.
"Elijah, let Grandmother down! She has a heart condition, she can't handle this!"
Elijah stood up from his chair, hooked my chin, his voice gentle and tempting: "I told you, as long as you're willing to apologize, I'll let Grandmother go immediately. Shirley has been crying all night because of what you said."
When he mentioned Shirley, his eyes were full of tenderness.
My heart was pierced with pain. The Elijah who used to rush home from the office just because I frowned now had his heart set on another woman.
Seeing my silence, he snapped his fingers.
The people over there pulled Grandmother up rapidly again. She completely passed out, her face deathly pale, no telling if she was dead or alive.
I couldn't take it anymore and gave in: "Fine, I agree. I'll apologize. Just let Grandmother go first."
I recorded an apology video as Elijah demanded, and only then was he satisfied enough to get up.
Before leaving, he stroked my cheek: "Selina, don't make a fuss like before. I'm just playing around with her. You're the only one in my heart."
Watching him leave, I couldn't help but laugh bitterly at myself.
I hurried to find my grandmother.
Grandmother had been left on the beach, her face deathly pale, completely motionless.
I clenched my fists in anger.
Grandmother had passed out, and they hadn't even sent her to the hospital first.
I ran over in panic, my hands trembling with fear.
Thankfully, Grandmother was still breathing. I took her to the hospital in a complete mess.
I received another message from Shirley on my phone.
Elijah had spent tens of millions of dollars creating a sea of roses for her, just to make her smile.
[Selina, did you see? Even though you have the title of his wife, I'm the one in his heart. He had sex with me many times tonight, and each time he said he wished he could die on top of me.]
These provocative words made my eyes well up again.
I couldn't help but remember when Elijah first confessed to me. He ordered 9,999 red roses and said affectionately, "Selina, I will love you forever."
After marriage, he really did keep his word. He gave me everything he thought was best.
When I was unhappy, he would do everything to cheer me up.
He said I was more important than his life.
I covered my face, trying not to cry.
But why did everything change in just three years?
Elijah then sent me a message. He seemed to know I had seen it.
After all, he had done too many things like this for Shirley.
[Selina, don't go looking for trouble with Shirley. I'm doing this to apologize to her on your behalf.]
Looking at this text, I wiped away my tears.
Elijah seemed certain I wouldn't leave him, but he forgot that before marriage, he had signed an agreement with me.
If he betrayed me, our marriage would automatically end.
In seven days, all he would see is my "corpse".

The head chef looked like he was silently praying for death.
I rushed forward. “Amara. Stop traumatizing these poor people.”
She spun around, delighted. “Sera! Good, you’re here. Taste this. It’s missing despair.”
The chef’s face morphed into existential crisis.
I grabbed her arm. “Put the spatula down.”
“But—”
“Down.”
With exaggerated offense, she dropped the spatula and muttered, “Fine. But if no one here has artistic vision, that’s not my fault.”

Vengeance of the Forsaken Luna
"Bella." Ethan's tone shifted, taking on that warning edge I knew too well. "Faye is vulnerable right now. She's terrified you'll resent her, that this will divide the pack. The last thing she wants is for this baby to come between us."
"Then you shouldn't have done it." I met his eyes squarely, letting him see the ice in mine. "Go back to your son."
"For fuck's sake." He dragged a hand through his hair. "How many times—it was artificial insemination. They used my sperm, yes, but Faye and I never—"
Bella let out a cold snort. Such brazen lies. Her mate had an affair with his brother's partner, and his entire family helped force her out with nothing, all to make way for the mistress to take her rightful position. Poor fool—he thought she was just an unwanted adopted daughter, easy to dismiss and control. He never knew the computer genius he'd been searching for was his own Luna.
Since he'd tainted himself, Bella was done. She rejected him and reclaimed what was hers, rising to the top with help from Victor, who'd been secretly in love with her for years.
When Ethan tried winning her back: "You don't want our child growing up fatherless."
Bella smiled mockingly. "The child's father isn't you."
