Introduction
But I was wrong. My mate—Alpha Simon Abbott—had fallen out of love with me. It turned out he had been pretending all along.
That day, I followed my mate and discovered he was having an affair with Lindsay Turner. I also learned the tragic truth: the death of my pup was tied to these two.
Lindsay came to find me, boasting about it.
"Everyone says he's been spoiling you, but I think you're the most pathetic. Do you know who convinced Alpha Simon to use the blood of an Omega fetus to save me when I was injured and couldn’t conceive?"
"You’ve been drinking that ginseng soup every day, but there’s already abortifacient herbs mixed in. You thought he didn’t touch you out of respect? Ha, Callie Snider, he just didn’t want you getting pregnant again."
My heart shattered completely.
Chapter 1
For three years of marriage, I always believed I was the Luna of Stormgrove Pack, the only Omega in his heart.
Alpha Simon Abbott pampered me to the bone. Every time I was in heat, he treated me with tenderness, handing me every concoction of nourishing herbs himself. He said he liked my light scent, that he appreciated how I never begged to be marked during my heat, how I just wanted to stay by his side.
I believed him, and willingly submitted to him for three years.
Until that day, when I accidentally overheard a servant whispering that Alpha often stayed at the guest house in the back mountains, and it seemed... he had another lover.
I didn’t want to believe it, until I saw it with my own eyes.
He was holding a beautiful Omega in his arms, a woman with a voluptuous figure, her pheromones thick and pungent, clearly in her heat. She leaned softly against him, and he... slipped his hand under her clothing, his expression drunk with pleasure, his eyes filled with lust.
That light I had seen in his eyes countless times was now burning for another Omega.
A few Beta men sat nearby, laughing lewdly:
"How many times did Alpha take her last night? Miss Turner must be completely worn out today."
"Haha, looks like he's eager to get her pregnant, so he can officially bring her into the Alpha’s castle."
"Does it even need saying? For Miss Turner, Alpha didn’t even hesitate to kill his own Luna’s pup—rumor has it, the fetus was used as an ingredient in a fertility potion! The witch from Herbane Pack made it, and that concoction is deadly..."
The words buzzed in my ears, and I nearly lost my balance.
Then, Alpha Simon’s voice rang out in a low, furious growl: “Shut up! I’ve told you before, don’t mention the past again! If Callie finds out, I swear I’ll make you pay!”
The men froze, quickly lowering their heads, subdued.
He picked up Lindsay Turner and walked into the room, his voice hoarse and restrained, his tone laced with familiar heat.
Soon, the soft moans of the Omega echoed from inside the room. Each gasp was like a dagger, plunging deeper into my heart.
In that moment, I finally understood—Alpha Simon had fallen out of love with me. He had been pretending all along.
The Alpha who once said, "You are the only one in this life I am spiritually connected to," had long since changed his heart.
I said nothing, turned, and walked away.
If you could abandon the pup in my womb for her, if you remained silent as others mocked me, then Alpha Simon, our bond ends here.
From now on, I will no longer be the Omega you marked.
You destroyed not just my pup, but the last shred of hope I had for us.
Heartbroken, I fled from the Alpha’s castle.
I couldn’t believe it—how could the Alpha who had protected and cherished me since we were pups, the one who had been my everything, be the one to kill the pup we were meant to share, all for another female?
And yet, I had foolishly blamed myself, thinking my Omega body was too weak to keep him and our pup together.
At the end of a small village lane, an elderly witch sat beside a cart, wrapped in a woolen cloak. She lifted a string of silver bells and wind chimes, her voice hoarse but kind. "Luna, I’ve made some new blessing talismans today. Would you like to see? They say the Moon Goddess favors those made on a full moon night."
After losing my pup, the older female Beta had told me that according to ancient beliefs, placing symbols of rebirth in a room—feathers, moonstones, and carved wolf pups—could bring the Moon Goddess’s blessings.
So every time I passed by, I stopped to buy a few. Now, my room was filled with little tokens of hope, but my womb... was still silent.
I instinctively took the small drum she offered—made from reindeer hide, palm-sized, with the phases of the moon carved into the drum face.
If my little one were still alive, I’m sure he would have loved something like this...
Tears quietly slid down my cheeks.
The witch seemed flustered, gently soothing me. “Don’t cry, Luna. Alpha cares for you deeply. The whole Stormgrove Pack knows you are his one and only mate. Your bond with him was tied by the Moon Goddess herself, and your pup will return.”
Yes, even the ordinary pack members knew how much Alpha Simon loved me... but how did it all change?
Back at the castle, the maid Carmen, dressed in a dark green uniform, greeted me with a steaming bowl of herbal soup. “Luna, this is the deer blood soup Alpha personally made this morning. He used a secret recipe from Herbane Pack and simmered it for three whole hours, just to help you recover faster. He really cares about you; even we servants are moved…”
I turned away and poured the soup into the pot of withered lavender by the door without hesitation.
The maid jumped back in shock, quickly shutting her mouth and retreating.
After the miscarriage, my health was extremely frail, and Alpha Simon sent people everywhere to find herbs to restore me. Every bowl of soup was made by his own hands, never delegated to anyone else.
The first time he made soup, he was clumsy and even burned his entire hand. I cried when I saw it, but he gently stroked my hair and smiled, saying, “Callie, if it means you’ll get better, this hand is worth it.”
I still can’t understand what kind of feelings he must have had when he spoke those words so gently.
I was staring out the window when the door creaked open, and Alpha Simon walked in.
He came up to me, reached out, and draped his arm around my shoulder, his voice soft. “What are you thinking about, Darling? I heard you were being stubborn today and refused to drink the soup?”
I gazed at the still-gentle Alpha, my eyes unconsciously scanning his entire figure.
He wore a black shirt, his hair slightly damp, the scent of mint from his recent bath lingering, his appearance clean, as though nothing had happened.
But I knew, he couldn’t hide it—the faint blush behind his ear, the lingering scent of female pheromones on him, instantly bringing back the images of him with Lindsay Turner. My stomach churned.
I spoke softly, “Nothing… all these years, the tonic has tasted so bitter, and it hasn’t seemed to help. I don’t want to keep going through this for nothing anymore.”
“Maybe... you should find a new she-wolf to carry on your bloodline. That would make more sense, right?”
A flicker of panic passed through Alpha Simon’s eyes.
“Darling, I won’t allow you to say such things. I’ve told you, I only recognize you in this life. pupren, bloodlines—they’re nothing compared to you.”
He seemed to realize his outburst and softened his tone. “Callie, don’t say such foolish things. Promise me, you won’t think like that anymore.”
I stared at his anxious expression, and slowly nodded.
“Okay.”
He sighed with relief, gently tapping my nose and affectionately saying,
“Silly Omega, always scaring me… Tonight, I’ll punish you properly so you’ll learn your lesson.”
His tone was playful, as he took my hand and led me toward the bed.
I quickly yanked my hand back. “You’ve been running around all day, you must be exhausted. Go rest early.”
Alpha Simon suppressed the confusion in his eyes, silently holding me close, and we slept together, fully clothed.
In the darkness, my fingers traced his familiar features.
This Alpha... how could someone who once loved me so much, now... hurt me so cruelly?

He was wrong.
Six years ago, Pete Leadsilver had everything an Alpha could want. Power, a respected pack and a future already written for him.
Then he met me.
What began as a game became a mistake I would spend years trying to survive. When I told him I was carrying his child, Pete chose not to believe me. He rejected me, humiliated me, and allowed the people around him to make sure I understood that there was no place for me in his world.
So I disappeared.
I took the secret of my pregnancy with me and built a life far away from the Alpha who had broken me.
Six years later, Pete finds me again. Only this time, he isn't the man with all the power. His pack is dying, his people are running out of time, and I may be the only person capable of saving them.
But I'm no longer the woman Pete remembers. And beside me is a little boy who carries far too much of Pete's face to be a coincidence.
Our reunion should have been about a cure, but instead, it becomes the beginning of a war neither of us saw coming.
Because Pete's greatest danger isn't outside his pack.
It's inside his own family.
Old resentment turns into manipulation. Loyalty becomes betrayal. And the people Pete trusts begin hiding secrets that threaten to destroy everything he's built.
Then someone comes for the people I love.
Suddenly, this is no longer about whether Pete can earn my forgiveness.
It's about whether he can keep me alive.
Whether he can protect the son he never knew existed.
Whether he can uncover the truth before the people closest to him destroy everything he has finally learned to value.
Along the way, we'll lose people we thought would always stand beside us, I'll be forced to confront wounds I've spent six years trying to bury, and the family we're slowly building will be tested in ways neither of us could have imagined.
Because sometimes love isn't the hardest thing to find. Sometimes it's the hardest thing to survive.
Pete once believed power meant never needing anyone and I once believed surviving him meant leaving him behind.
We were both wrong.
Because some bonds refuse to die, some betrayals cut deeper than rejection and some people don't come back into your life to give you a second chance.
They come back to show you exactly what you almost lost.
Pete Leadsilver lost me once.
This time, he'll have to fight to keep the family he never knew he needed.
