The Abyss King’s Pet
Cameo Andrew · Ongoing · 50.3k Words
Introduction
"Oh dove, my vile, sick dove," his voice wrapped around me, thick as the deep, forcing itself into my lungs like I was drowning in him.
"You're vile," I panted, my body pinned against the cold glass of the tank, his inhuman strength keeping me right where he wanted.
His mouth brushed the column of my throat, his teeth grazing my skin—hard enough to shiver. "No, little pet," he growled, his hands roving, clawing, owning. "You're vile. I am evil."
Dr. Lila Monroe never believed in myths, only science. But when her team captures something impossible—a creature too beautiful, too deadly—she knows she has discovered something beyond human comprehension.
Something that has been waiting for her. Night brings the dreams. Too vivid. Too near. His voice coils around her mind, whispering secrets and promises, drawing her into a place where she is not herself.
He tells her she is his. Possesses her in ways that make her shake when she wakes. But the creature in the tank is no normal specimen. He is an elder abyssal deity, a being who doesn't plead for affection—he demands, he takes, he consumes.
His hunger is never-ending, his obsession unwavering, and Lila is the only one who can hear him, feel him, and crave him.
As forces beyond her control rage above and reality warps around her, she has to make an impossible choice—fight the pull of the void or surrender to a bond she can never break because some hunger will never be denied. And he has waited eons to drown her in pleasure, in terror, in him.
Chapter 1
I never imagined I’d feel so small, standing on the deck of the Neptune’s Pursuit, gazing into an endless, midnight ocean. The Mariana Trench lay below us, darker than ink, miles of water pressing down into the planet’s oldest, most secret places. I was supposed to be a scientist, a researcher driven by data and logic. But tonight, I felt like a girl again, lured by stories of monsters and gods hidden beneath the waves.
I glanced at my watch. Midnight. The air was still, heavy with the scent of salt and metal. Most of the crew were asleep by now, but a few of us lingered on deck, waiting for something—anything. Maybe it was superstition, or maybe we all felt it: that strange, almost magnetic pull that had settled over the ship the closer we got to our target.
Dr. Graves strode across the deck, cutting through my thoughts. His dark suit looked almost too neat for the grimy deck, and he walked with the brisk, clipped steps of a man who always knew exactly what he wanted.
“Dr. Monroe,” he said, nodding toward the lab doors. “Everything is ready. Shall we begin?”
I nodded, slipping into my role, trying to push down the strange tension that had been building in my chest since we arrived. “Right. Let’s do it.”
Inside the lab, the air was cooler, filled with the low hum of machines and blinking lights. My team was gathered around the massive tank in the center of the room, the one we’d prepared to contain… well, whatever it was we were about to encounter.
“Status report?” I asked, looking at Mira, my closest colleague and friend. Her eyes were bright, her usual optimism mixed with nervous energy.
“All systems go, Lila,” she said, glancing at the tablet in her hand. “Readings are… strange. Unstable. But we’ve got the sedatives ready, and the tank’s at maximum reinforcement.”
The words “strange” and “unstable” hung in the air, and I felt a shiver creep down my spine. I should have been used to this—researching strange creatures and unknown phenomena was practically my life’s work. But this… this felt different.
Outside, a loud mechanical whir echoed as the team lowered the deep-sea probe into the water. My heart pounded as I watched the monitor, a deep, greenish blur coming into view as the probe descended, closer and closer to whatever was waiting below.
And then, finally, it appeared on the screen.
A figure, almost humanoid, but not quite. Luminous, with long tendrils of dark hair floating around it. Its eyes were closed, its body moving ever so slightly with the deep currents.
“It looks… asleep,” Mira whispered, her voice barely audible.
I leaned closer to the screen, transfixed. The creature was hauntingly beautiful, even in its stillness. Its skin was a pale blue, shimmering faintly, and its body seemed to ripple like water. But there was something else—something that felt ancient, almost regal.
“Let’s bring it up,” Dr. Graves said, his voice sharp. “Get the restraints ready. We don’t know what we’re dealing with here.”
A few technicians scurried to their stations, activating the robotic arms on the probe. I watched, my chest tight, as the arms extended, closing in around the creature. For a moment, I thought it might react, might open its eyes and shatter the calm in one sudden movement. But it stayed perfectly still, allowing itself to be restrained and lifted toward the surface.
An hour later, the creature was in the tank.
I could barely believe it, even as I stood inches from the glass, staring at it through the rippling water. It was far more extraordinary up close. Its body was long, fluid, with scales that shimmered in shades of green and blue. Dark hair fanned out around it like ink in water, and its face… its face was almost human, but far too perfect, like a sculpture.
“Congratulations, Dr. Monroe,” Dr. Graves said, his tone dripping with satisfaction. “You’ve made history tonight.”
I barely heard him. All I could focus on was the creature. Its eyes were still closed, its expression eerily calm, almost as if it were just… waiting. I pressed a hand against the glass, feeling the cold seep through to my skin.
“Lila,” Mira murmured, touching my shoulder. “Are you okay?”
I nodded, tearing myself away from the creature and turning to her. “Yeah. It’s just… I don’t know. It feels… wrong. Like it’s letting us do this.”
Mira laughed nervously. “Maybe it’s just the nerves. I mean, we’re standing in front of an actual sea creature that’s… well, almost mythical. Who knows what its mind is like?”
“Right,” I said, trying to shake off the feeling. But I couldn’t help noticing the way its lips were slightly curved, as if it knew something we didn’t.
As the night wore on, most of the team drifted off, satisfied with the capture. Dr. Graves had stayed just long enough to observe, then retired to his quarters, confident that everything was under control. But I stayed.
I pulled a stool up to the tank and sat there, watching it. Studying it. The creature didn’t move, but there was a strange energy in the room, an unspoken tension that felt alive.
It was only me and the creature, locked in silence.
The minutes slipped by, and my mind began to wander. I started asking myself questions I didn’t want to answer. Why was I so drawn to it? Why did I feel like it was watching me, even with its eyes closed? And why did I get the unsettling feeling that it was here… for me?
Suddenly, its eyelids fluttered, just barely. I froze, my heart slamming in my chest, waiting to see if it would open its eyes. But they remained shut, its face as calm as ever. Still, the movement was enough to send my mind spiraling with questions. Was it really sedated? Or was it just pretending?
I shook my head, trying to banish the thought. “Get it together, Lila,” I muttered under my breath. “You’re letting your imagination run wild.”
But as I stood to leave, I caught my reflection in the glass. And for a split second, I could have sworn I saw something in its expression shift, just a little—a flicker of awareness, maybe even amusement. Like it knew exactly what I was thinking.
I backed away, a chill crawling up my spine. I tried to convince myself it was just a trick of the light, just fatigue from a long day. But as I turned and headed for the door, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I’d just made a terrible mistake.
That night, I couldn’t sleep. I lay in my bunk, staring at the metal ceiling, the hum of the ship’s engines vibrating through the walls. My mind kept circling back to the creature’s face, the haunting stillness, the strange calm. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get it out of my head.
Eventually, I slipped out of bed, pulled on a jacket, and made my way back to the lab. The halls were dark, silent. The ship was a floating ghost in the middle of the ocean, and I felt like the only living thing aboard.
When I reached the lab, I found the creature still motionless in its tank. I walked up to the glass, hesitating, and then placed a hand against it again. The cold seeped through my fingers, grounding me, giving me a strange sense of calm.
“What are you?” I whispered, barely aware I’d spoken out loud. “Why are you here?”
For a moment, I almost thought I’d get an answer. The water rippled ever so slightly, and its eyelids fluttered again, just enough to send a jolt of adrenaline through my veins.
But then it stilled, its face as serene as ever, and I forced myself to step back. I was being ridiculous. It was just a creature—a fascinating, beautiful creature, but still just a creature.
At least, that’s what I kept telling myself.
I forced myself to leave the lab and head back to my bunk, but the feeling of unease followed me. I could still feel the icy glass against my hand, the unshakable sensation that, in that moment, I hadn’t been alone. That somehow, the creature had reached back.
As I finally drifted off to sleep, one last, strange thought passed through my mind.
What if it was here… for me?

I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. Badass in Disguise
"Jade, I need to check your—" the nurse began.
"OUT!" I snarled with enough force that both women backed toward the door.
Once feared by Shadow Organization that drugged me to replicate my abilities into a more controllable version, I had escaped my restraints and detonated their entire facility, ready to die alongside my captors.
Instead, I woke up in a school infirmary with women arguing around me, their voices piercing my skull. My outburst froze them in shock—clearly they hadn't expected such a reaction. One woman threatened as she left, "We'll discuss this attitude when you get home."
The bitter truth? I've been reborn into the body of an overweight, weak, and supposedly dim-witted high school girl. Her life is filled with bullies and tormentors who've made her existence miserable.
But they have no idea who they're dealing with now.
I didn't survive as the world's deadliest assassin by allowing anyone to push me around. And I certainly won't start now.
Mated by Contract to the Alpha
William—my devastatingly handsome, wealthy werewolf fiancé destined to become Delta—was supposed to be mine forever. After five years together, I was ready to walk down the aisle and claim my happily ever after.
Instead, I found him with her. And their son.
Betrayed, jobless, and drowning in my father's medical bills, I hit rock bottom harder than I ever imagined possible. Just when I thought I'd lost everything, salvation came in the form of the most dangerous man I'd ever encountered.
Damien Sterling—future Alpha of the Silver Moon Shadow Pack and ruthless CEO of Sterling Group—slid a contract across his desk with predatory grace.
“Sign this, little doe, and I'll give you everything your heart desires. Wealth. Power. Revenge. But understand this—the moment you put pen to paper, you become mine. Body, soul, and everything in between.”
I should have run. Instead, I signed my name and sealed my fate.
Now I belong to the Alpha. And he's about to show me just how wild love can be.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
