Introduction
She woke up in a body that was never meant to be ordinary.
Now trapped inside sixteen-year-old Ivy Whitfield—a girl born into one of the powerful Warden Houses—Claire inherits more than a new life. She inherits betrayal. Three years ago, Ivy’s own brothers sealed her Sovereign-class summoning core, convinced she was too dangerous to control. Too unstable to trust. Too much of a risk to the family name.
They were wrong.
Beneath the seal lies something vast. Ancient. Waiting.
As fragments of Ivy’s past surface, Claire begins to piece together the truth: the “accident” that led to the sealing was no accident at all. Lies were planted. Fear was cultivated. And someone in the Whitfield household made sure Ivy would never rise.
But Claire isn’t the girl they remember.
In a world rebuilt after collapse—where spirit beasts soar beside drones and ancient magic powers modern empires—strength is everything. And Claire has no intention of staying weak.
To reclaim her power, she’ll have to break the seal no one was meant to touch. To survive, she’ll have to outmaneuver the very family sworn to protect her. And to uncover the truth, she’ll have to risk unleashing something even they were right to fear.
They sealed her power.
Now she’s about to show them why they should have killed her instead.
The Forsaken Summoner Reborn is a gripping fantasy of rebirth, betrayal, and unstoppable ascent—perfect for fans of fierce heroines, slow-burn power progression, and worlds where magic and technology collide.
Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — Waking Up Wrong
The last thing Claire Whitfield remembered was the delivery truck.
The next thing she knew, she was staring at a ceiling that wasn't hers — old wooden beams, a crack shaped like a lightning bolt, the smell of dust and candle wax instead of hospital antiseptic.
She sat up too fast. Her body listened a half-second too slow, like she was wearing someone else's skin. Because she was.
Thin arms. Small hands, calloused across the knuckles in a way office workers didn't get. A single braid of dark hair fell over one shoulder when she turned her head, and when she caught her reflection in the water basin by the bed, the face looking back was maybe sixteen years old — and definitely not hers.
Okay, she thought. Okay. That's a normal Tuesday now, apparently.
Memories weren't hers, but they were there, layered under her own like sediment — flashes she could reach for if she pushed. A name: Ivy Whitfield. A house full of brothers. A little sister who wasn't blood, who smiled sweet as sugar and lied sweeter still. And underneath all of it, something enormous and coiled and silent — a well that should have been overflowing and had instead been capped shut for three years.
Ivy Whitfield had been born with a Mythic-class summoning core — the tier above Sovereign, the tier tutors only mentioned in hushed asides, because Mythic-class summoners didn't pull spirit beasts or elementals through the veil. They pulled myths. Entities old enough to remember every summoner who had ever called them before, and to arrive with opinions about it. One in — Claire searched the memory and found no number, just an ache of rarity, like the girl herself hadn't been told how rare, only that she was dangerous and needed to be controlled.
And three years ago, her core had been sealed. Not by an enemy. Not by an accident.
By her own brothers.
Claire — she was going to have to get used to being Ivy, but for now the two names sat side by side in her head — pressed her palms flat against the quilt and made herself breathe.
Think. Gather facts before you panic.
The memories cooperated, slowly, the way a bruise reveals itself under pressure. This wasn't the past. It wasn't ancient China dressed up in someone's imagination — the world outside that window had cracked skyscrapers retrofitted with ward-stones, drones that flew alongside summoned wind-hawks, a calendar on the wall that read a date two hundred years past the one Claire had died in. The old world had ended in something the histories just called the Collapse, and what grew back was this: cultivation and combustion engines, spirit beasts and satellite arrays, side by side.
The Whitfield family was old blood in this new world — one of the eleven Warden Houses tasked with holding the border wards against the Feral Reaches. Four brothers. Ivy, the fifth child and only daughter by blood. And Daphne — sweet, soft-spoken Daphne, adopted in from a lesser house nine years ago, who had spent three of those years very quietly making sure everyone in the household believed that Ivy's summoning core was unstable. Dangerous. Something to be protected from, not nurtured.
There was truth buried in that lie, which was what made it work. Weaker summoners anchored their pulls in spirit-stones — something outside themselves to absorb the strain. Mythic-class was too vast for stone. The only anchor big enough was the summoner herself. Push a pull too hard, too young, without control, and the backlash didn't kill you. It unraveled you — memory first, then temperament, then the parts of a person that made them them, fraying at the edges like a rope taking too much weight. A panicking twelve-year-old, forcing a pull she didn't understand, really could have come apart at the seams.
Her brothers hadn't been wrong to be afraid. They'd just been afraid of the wrong danger, aimed at the wrong solution — and someone standing very close to the family had made sure it stayed that way.
Claire found the memory of the day it happened sitting right at the surface, raw as a fresh scar: twelve-year-old Ivy, half-collapsed after her first real summoning attempt, and Daphne's voice trembling as she told the eldest brother, Marcus, that Ivy had lost control, that something had almost come through, that she'd been so scared — and underneath the fear in Daphne's voice, something else Ivy had been too young to name at the time. Not triumph. Not malice. Something closer to relief, like a person who'd been dreading a diagnosis and just had it confirmed.
Marcus had sealed the core himself. To keep his little sister safe. He still thought that's what he'd done.
Claire's jaw tightened, and it wasn't her jaw, not really, but the anger underneath it felt entirely her own.
She'd spent thirty-four years as an adult who'd learned, the hard way, what it cost to let other people narrate your life for you. She was not about to spend whatever this life was sitting quietly under a seal some liar had talked her real family into placing.
But anger wasn't a plan, and Claire had built an entire career out of not confusing the two. She made herself set the fury aside like a tool back on its shelf and looked at the seal the way she'd have looked at any badly-documented system someone handed her cold: not is this fair, but how was this built, and what did the person who built it think they were building.
Marcus hadn't engineered a cage for a monster. He'd built a pressure valve for a panicking child mid-collapse — something designed to catch chaotic, involuntary bursts and choke them off before they spread. That was a very different lock than one built to hold back a deliberate, controlled pull. Every system had a shape, and every shape had edges nobody had bothered to test, because nobody expected the girl on the inside to stop thrashing and start thinking.
Down the hall, she could hear voices — low, familiar-to-Ivy, unfamiliar to Claire. Brothers. Awake, probably eating breakfast, probably still convinced they'd done the right thing three years ago.
Claire swung her legs off the bed, testing them like new shoes.
First things first, she thought. Find out exactly what this seal is made of. Nobody builds a lock without leaving a key somewhere — even if the person who built it doesn't know they left one.
She caught her reflection again on the way to the door. Sixteen years old, unfairly underestimated, sitting on top of a power everyone around her had been taught to fear.
Ivy Whitfield's family thought they knew exactly who she was.
They were about to find out how wrong they'd been.

But I didn't cry. I didn't scream. I didn't even flinch.

He thinks I'm weak. That I'll stand by his side in two days, smile for the ceremony, and hand him my loyalty with the Alpha title.

I'm fury dressed in skin, madness wearing heels, and heartbreak turned into a goddamn weapon.
They wanted a loyal Luna??
Instead...
They created a monster.

The Pack won't remember the name of the Alpha who betrayed me.
They'll remember the woman who took his crown...
