Talia's pov
It feel like my lungs are burning up from the inside, but I can't stop, I can't let them get me! I'm sure it will be my end if I do! I have to press on, this is my last chance to get away from that hell.
My entire body is hurting and aching so bad from all my injuries but I just can't stop, I need to keep going. I can't take another beating from them! I don't understand why they always does this to me.
What have I ever done to deserve to live like this? I have always done my best to please them. But nothing I do is good enough. I have been planning this escape for a few weeks now, so I can't give up.
I took a good grip around the strap over my shoulder, pulling my backpack tighter to me. I look around and see I have come closer to the city, I just need to get on a bus, and get away from here. Hopefully they will never find me again.
But I need a break, my legs won't carry me any longer without a little break. I feel I'm about to pass out from exhaustion, I start to stumble over my own feet and suddenly I see a car coming straight for me and tires are screeching on the road.
I see some people rush out of the car towards me, before everything turns black and I can't keep my eyes open any longer.
(A few hours earlier)
I'm currently making dinner for my mother, step sister and step father. I know they will come home very soon, so I have to hurry to get it all done. I have already packed my backpack with all my valuables.
Not that I have a lot, but the few things I do have, the things I got from the one person that actually cared for me. I miss him! He had to move 4 years ago and after that I have been stuck here more or less without anyone.
I hid the backpack in a bush a little further down the road. So when I make my escape tonight, I have to hurry, grab it, then get away from here. I hear a car stop outside and I quickly plating their dinner. I place it on the diner table. Then stand ready to greet them when they open the door.
"I hope for your sake that the food is done!" Gregor walked inside and gave me a smirk. I kept my eyes down on the floor and gave a small nod while Gregor, my mother Bianca and my step sister Scarlette walked past me, and Scarlette pushed me hard when she passed me.
They sat down around the table and started to eat their food, while having a conversation with each other. Smiling, talking about their day and acting like I'm not even here.
"Get me a beer slut!" Gregor commanded. I quickly and quietly walked to the kitchen got a beer for him and walked back out to them, before I placed the beer on the table next to him.
He looked at the beer, then at me, then the beer again. Suddenly I got a hard slap to my face. "You think I can drink of it when you haven't even bothered to open it?" he sneered.
I quickly took the beer and open it before placing it back on the table. You see, nothing I do is good enough, if I had opened it before, he would be giving me a slap for open his drink without his permission, if I don't open it I get slapped for not doing it.
I silently moved back a little, keeping my gaze on the floor. A little later my dear mother spoke up. "Give me a glass of red wine!" She screeched. I quietly walked to the kitchen, found a wine glass and a bottle of her favorite red wine.
I walked into the dining room, put the glass on the table and open the wine and filled her glass. Then I left the bottle on the table before stepping back. They finished their dinner then stood up.
"Clean up this mess bitch!" Scarlette said before walking out of the room and headed upstairs. I started to take the stuff of the table as quietly as I could, but I accidently made a little noise, then suddenly I got a fist into my stomach.
"WE HAVE TOLD YOU TO NEVER MAKE A SOUND!" Gregor shouted. He then pulled my hair and dragged me to a little more open area, where he started to beat me up. He kicked me, then he lifted me up and tossed me into the wall.
"When we get down tomorrow all this better be cleaned up! If we hear one single noise you will get taught a new lesson!" Gregor said angry, before he and my dear mother walked up to the second floor.
I let a single tear run down the side of my face, before I carefully stood up. I waited a few hours before I even dared to move, so I had just been standing there straight up and down.
When I was sure they had gone to their rooms and gone to sleep, I very carefully walked to the door before closing it as silently as I could behind me. I walked quietly over to where I had hid my backpack, then I started running like crazy towards the city.
This is my only chance to get away from here! I just need to get to the city, get on a bus to some random place, then I can treat my wounds from today's beating. My body is a color chart of black, blue, purple, red, yellow and green due to all the bruises.
Some new, some starting to heal and some starting to form. This is how it has been for as long as I can remember. I have not been allowed to make a single noise, if I do, I get a beating.
I have to make their food or I get a beating, if they catch me eating something without their permission, I get a beating. It has been so many times I have prayed that I would never wake up the next day.
But for some reason, I always wake up and have to keep this shit going. But today, today is the last day, I have finally taken the step to get away. I had to save enough money so I could be able to finally run away.

After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

Invisible To Her Bully
Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human
A Lesson in Magic
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
