My parents did their part, too. Give Sloane the good stuff, they'd say, or get cut out of the will.
In the past, I would have cried and made a scene.
But the hundredth time Callum waved divorce in my face and ordered me to test drugs for my sister, I said yes.
I even went out of my way to be kind to Sloane. Everyone said I'd finally grown up.

Chapter 1
My husband, Callum, had threatened me with divorce more times than I could count, always to guilt me into sacrificing myself for my sister, Sloane.
None of them knew I was dying, or that none of it mattered to me anymore.
The day I was diagnosed with cancer, Callum slid the divorce papers across the table at me. Again. For the hundredth time.
"Willa, Sloane's getting worse. She can't keep doing the drug trials. If we can't get this medication developed within a month, she could die. You two are twins, so your genes are close enough. The doctor says you can take her place. If you won't, then we're getting a divorce. Sloane doesn't have long, and she asked me to help with her last wish."
I sat there and listened. He said every word with a perfectly straight face.
Swapping one twin in for the other halfway through a trial. That was the kind of thing only a private clinic would ever dare to do. Nobody in my family seemed to notice, or care.
When this all started, Sloane would come home from treatment drenched in sweat, and suddenly everyone wanted me to take her place in the trials. Mom, Dad, and Callum took turns working on me. "Working on" was generous. It was closer to threats.
Mom and Dad said I'd be written out of the family trust if I refused. Callum had floated divorce close to a hundred times.
I didn't know I was sick back then. I only knew my body was getting weaker, so I said no. The second I did, the whole room filled with disappointment. Heartless, they called me. Childish.
"Your sister is dying! One small favor, and she could live. How can you say no?"
"Exactly! Sloane's been on the trials for half a year. You'd only have to finish the last few months, and you won't even do that? I'm so disappointed in you. If you won't save your sister, fine. We'll pretend we never had a daughter like you!"
Those words still cut deep, even now. But that was all behind me. I was dying, and none of it mattered.
Whether I died at home or on a testing table, what was the difference? Nobody would care either way.
Callum's frown deepened, like he was about to start in on me again. I smiled at him instead. "Okay. I'll do the trials for Sloane."
He froze. Then his head snapped up, surprise and joy all over his face. "Really? That's amazing! Sloane's finally going to be okay!"
He practically ran out to the balcony to call my parents with the good news.
I watched his happy silhouette and smiled bitterly at myself. Then my eyes landed on the divorce papers. I picked them up, pulled a pen out of my bag, and signed the petition without a second thought.
When Callum came back in, I was just setting the papers down.
He stopped. "What are you doing?"
I smiled. "Nothing."
He saw how low I looked, and a flicker of regret crossed his face. He grabbed the papers and shoved them into his bag. "I was kidding. I'm not going to divorce you."
I hummed something that passed for okay. My face gave nothing away. He studied me for a second, then let it go.
On the drive home, he suddenly turned attentive. He asked what I needed, then pulled over to buy me a whole bag of health supplements.
But all that concern was probably just about getting my body in shape for the trials.
I tossed the bag in the back seat and stared out the window. The sun was bright. I wouldn't get to see it much longer.
We hadn't even made it through the front door when I heard my parents' excited voices. Mom had Sloane in her arms, crying. "Sloane, you're saved! You're not going anywhere…"
Dad, afraid I'd change my mind, shoved a test subject consent form into my hand the second I walked in. Only after they watched me sign it did they relax and smile.
"Willa, you've finally grown up. You're finally thinking about your sister and this family. Don't hold this against us. Your birth was so hard that Sloane came out sickly. Next to you, she needs us more.
"But we won't shortchange you. The family money gets split evenly between you and your sister. You won't get a cent less."
I shook my head, swallowing the bitterness.
"Give it all to Sloane. I won't be needing any of it."

Moonfire: Betrayed By The Alpha
Alpha Caden Blackwell believed those words would break me. That after three years of marriage marked by silence, humiliation, and quiet rejection, I would fear a life without him.
I did once.
As the Luna of the Shadowcrest Pack, I gave everything to a man my wolf recognized as her mate, enduring whispers, cold stares, and a pack that never truly accepted me. I stayed because I believed love required endurance. Because I believed patience would one day be rewarded.
That belief shattered the night Caden welcomed his former lover back into our home, along with a child he claimed as his heir. It ended the moment his choices nearly cost me my life and the life of one of my unborn pups. Leaving was no longer a matter of pride. It was survival.
Caden does not know the woman who walked away. He still sees the Luna who waited, who forgave, who loved without limits. He does not see Nova Ashton, a woman capable of rebuilding her identity and claiming a future on her own terms.
I will never crawl back.
Tango 2 the Alpha's Heart
My gaze snapped to his. He was smiling, causing my heart to skip a painful beat. Before I could respond, the music began, and my body instinctively reacted to the sweet melody.
I found myself molded to Lex's will, my feet irresistibly following the dance steps.
The crowd gasped as Lex pulled me into a more intimate position, his hands roaming over my body in a seductive manner.
The experience was both terrifying and magical, allowing me to feel every longing emotion through the dance.
I soon found myself lost in his arms.
When the music finally stopped, my arms were wrapped around his neck, his hands resting on my back, our noses almost touching. He gazed deeply into my eyes.
The ballroom fell silent.
Was he about to kiss me?

My Billionaire Husband's Secret

He was gentle. Romantic. Attentive. I fell for him fast.
But a year into our marriage, I began to notice something — a pattern.
Lucas's sexual appetite was intense — he wanted me almost every night. Yet every single month, he arranged a solo trip to send me away. I told myself it was his way of spoiling me.
Then a message arrived from someone called Sweet An.
Do you really know your husband?
From that day on, my life filled with shadows.
I suspected my husband of having an affair.
When Lucas and I made love, something felt wrong — his body too large, too much, like something I couldn't explain.
I heard sounds during sex — animal sounds, like something feral had crawled into bed with us.
My best friend Mia said: "There are men sick enough to let dogs fuck their wives."
The family doctor, Daisy, told me: "You could never stay by Lucas's side forever. Your background doesn't make you worthy of being his wife. Do you understand?"
I went looking for whoever had been tearing my marriage apart. I fought to win my husband back.
But the deeper I searched, the larger the secret grew — something far darker hiding beneath this supposed betrayal.
Does Lucas truly love me?
And why, out of everyone in the world, did he choose to marry me?

GO ON YOUR KNEES, ALPHA.
He was wrong.
Six years ago, Pete Leadsilver had everything an Alpha could want. Power, a respected pack and a future already written for him.
Then he met me.
What began as a game became a mistake I would spend years trying to survive. When I told him I was carrying his child, Pete chose not to believe me. He rejected me, humiliated me, and allowed the people around him to make sure I understood that there was no place for me in his world.
So I disappeared.
I took the secret of my pregnancy with me and built a life far away from the Alpha who had broken me.
Six years later, Pete finds me again. Only this time, he isn't the man with all the power. His pack is dying, his people are running out of time, and I may be the only person capable of saving them.
But I'm no longer the woman Pete remembers. And beside me is a little boy who carries far too much of Pete's face to be a coincidence.
Our reunion should have been about a cure, but instead, it becomes the beginning of a war neither of us saw coming.
Because Pete's greatest danger isn't outside his pack.
It's inside his own family.
Old resentment turns into manipulation. Loyalty becomes betrayal. And the people Pete trusts begin hiding secrets that threaten to destroy everything he's built.
Then someone comes for the people I love.
Suddenly, this is no longer about whether Pete can earn my forgiveness.
It's about whether he can keep me alive.
Whether he can protect the son he never knew existed.
Whether he can uncover the truth before the people closest to him destroy everything he has finally learned to value.
Along the way, we'll lose people we thought would always stand beside us, I'll be forced to confront wounds I've spent six years trying to bury, and the family we're slowly building will be tested in ways neither of us could have imagined.
Because sometimes love isn't the hardest thing to find. Sometimes it's the hardest thing to survive.
Pete once believed power meant never needing anyone and I once believed surviving him meant leaving him behind.
We were both wrong.
Because some bonds refuse to die, some betrayals cut deeper than rejection and some people don't come back into your life to give you a second chance.
They come back to show you exactly what you almost lost.
Pete Leadsilver lost me once.
This time, he'll have to fight to keep the family he never knew he needed.
