Chapter 1
"Relax okay? It's like an ant bite." I said while smiling widely in front of Thirdy, he has a stage 3 cancer.
"You're always saying that to me nurse. But it always have been painful." Thirdy replied, i can see clearly the pain in his eyes. Although I don't want to do it but still, I have to. For him.
I smiled at him, he's pouting and I think that's cute.
I messed up his hair first and then came closer to him.
"You're a big boy right Thirdy? And you're brave so I believe you can handle it again like before okay?" At the same time, I showed him the injection in his face. His face was still sad, but later on he sighed and nodded his head so I was happy.
"Like I always told you ----" he cut me off.
"Close your eyes and everything will be alright." And that's when my smile widened even more, he didn't really forget what I was saying to him.
I held his hand and started my job, I looked at him when he started to close his eyes.
Even me, I hurt for him. I want him to actually heal all the children I take care of. Well, this is my job. I am a Pediatric Nurse, and most of all i handled children. A natural rapport with children may be the most important reason to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse... The ability of being a Pediatric Nurse to distract a child is perhaps as important as earning their trust, especially when you are administering immunizations or inserting IV lines.
Working with children who are sick is emotionally draining so it"s important to take good care of yourself you choose to work in this profession. But In addition, children get scared and can"t always clearly communicate "what hurts." Pediatric nurses like me know how to talk to children and how to dispel their fears. We are also know how to ask children questions about their health, so we can gather complete and accurate information to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
Thirdy is one of the children here in the hospital who has been diagnosed as one of the important to me and I believe that a child like him can still fight and overcome his illness. I believe that every child has a potential and all children are strong.
One advantage of being a pediatric nurse is the ability to work primarily alongside children, reassuring them when they are afraid of medical tests or even staying in the hospital. An additional advantage of working closely with children is that you can offer hope and care to the children you are treating. Because ever since I really love kids.
I love being Pediatric Nurse, to Avail this kind of job and if you love taking good care of children, you need to have a Respect, sensitivity and empathy are also important characteristics for a child nurse. You'll be responsible for patients with a range of needs so being highly organized, flexible and able to prioritize effectively will be vital.
And you must have a skills of values and behaviors care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and
commitment.
And like other nurses, pediatric nurses can perform physical examinations, measure vital statistics, take blood and urine samples and order diagnostic tests. Nurses with advanced training can interpret test results to form diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
"Wow you didn't cry!" I proudly said, he frowned.
"Nurse I'm used to it so i dont have to cry, I'm not a crybaby because I'm a big boy now." I was happy with what he said so I can't help to embrace him.
"That's good Thirdy. Nurse Sha is so proud of you."
"I need to be strong Nurse Sha, i wanna continue my study. I dont wanna be a burden to my family. I couldn't take to see my family hurting because of me." I bit my lip, because despite his age he already thinks about such things.
I touched his cheek.
"Hey, don't ever think about that Thirdy. You haven't been a burden for them okay? They do it all for you, to heal you. And I'm always here for you no matter what Thirdy." I wiped the tears from his eyes, then I hugged him, I don't want to see him like this because I'm hurting too.
This is the worst for being a Pediatric Nurse, you weaken the children who think they are a burden to their parents just because of their illness.
As a nurse, I should always be there for them, to somehow reduce the pain they feel. I will make them feel better.
I looked like rugged outside but I always have a big heart for Kids that other people don't see. Because kids are my weakness.
After I put Thirdy to sleep, I went straight to my office to get some rest first. I caught up with Jill there, well we were both in the office.
"No duty?" I asked when I entered and sat down. She just focused on her computer like me, Jill is also a pediatric nurse.
"There, 10 more tomorrow." I looked at the clock, it's already 9:23 in the morning. I'll be back later this afternoon, I'll go back to Thirdy for his treatment. I sighed.
I took my phone from my bag when it rang.
I immediately frowned.
It was Chaos.
Why is he so persistent?
Didn't he get married?
Chaos calling ....
I just shook my head and let him call after so many calls and finally stopped, I immediately looked at the text he gave me for the sake.
That's why I read it.
From: Chaos
"Hey butternut! Answer my calls please :("
I'm tired of having emojis, isn't there a rehearsal now and I'm busy again? He's always calling me for God sake!
I can't stop myself from remembering what happened in the parking lot, it's been a week but he still visits me every day even though I'm on duty. It's so skinny! But I'm thankful that he disguised himself but I still know him.
I ignored his message and rested my head in my swivel chair, I'm just doing it with Thirdy now but I'm feeling very tired rightnow.
I immediately looked at my phone again when he texted again and again.
F*ck!
From: Chaos
"Butternut please... I missed you :("
Shocks!
I read another one.
From: Chaos
"I'm here in the lobby, please let me come here, the others will notice. :("
Seriously? Is sad emoticon is his favorite? Take care of your life! I don't give a f*ck if you're upset!
Instead of texting him back, once again I ignored his message again and starting to close my eyes.
"Oh my God!" I was immediately startled by Jill's scream.
"What's that Jill? What happened?" I asked worriedly. She focused on his cellphone with her eyes widening. She looked at me but I just frowned.
"Someone posted on twitter that he saw Chaos here! Oh my God!" I'm getting really close, you're really dead because of Chaos!
"And look! The person who saw said he was carrying sunflowers!" Jill was still thrilled.
How many times have I thrown away all the flowers he gave me, but he still won't really stop.
Annoying!
I looked at my phone again when he texted again.
From: Chaos
"Some of my fan saw me here. You know it's a big trouble for you right? So please come down..."
He really knows me well.
Shall I lower him? So in the end I replied to him.
Me:
"Go back to your car Chaos and go home!"
After a few seconds he replied,
Chaos:
"I wont, I wanna see you."
I'm closing my eyes again. Why is this man so stubborn?
I would have replied when Jill played music.
That voice was familiar, even though its just a cover but still a nice cover.
"Who sang that Jill?" I asked, her eyes widened.
"Seriously you don't know?"
"Shall I ask if I know?"
"I said that." She said then roll her eyes. "Well the moonstone please."
"Moonstone? The band that Chaos belongs to?" She was almost hysterical when I mentioned the name Chaos. That idiot is really popular!
Even though I hate that, Chaos is well known, not only as an actor and vocalist of the band but also a notorious playboy. Well! You heard me. That's legit anyways
"Omg girl! Fafa Chaos' voice is really hot! It's like I'm the one she's singing here! Do you know girl, I've been to their concert one time! F*ck! It was superb! As in! It's worth it my gen ad paid for 3k! " My eyes widened at what she said.
"General admission 3 thousand?" Isn't the gen ad usually not worth a thousand? Why is it so expensive?
"Yes girl! All the seats are sold out! I would have taken the VIP 15k case to be sold out quickly! The moonstone is really different! And I'm proud of moonstonians!"
Moonstonians? Are their fans like that?
I just went home, those people are also just defecating but the whole Philippines is going crazy! Seriously who"s the fool to spend 15k just to watch them? F*ck! 15k is only one day.
People nowadays.
"You're just wasting your money on those."
"I can't! It's worth it! They're handsome! I bet the drummer is Vino too! Shocks his arm flexes when he's beating. I wonder how he can----"
"Jillian!" I sit because maybe that's where she'll go.
"How can he be with you! The green of your brain!" But I just stared at her, I took my phone and texted Chaos.
It's not really going away, it's stubborn!
"Where are you going?" Jill asked when I left.
"I wanna buy something ." I didn't wait for her to answer and quickly walked to the lobby.
While I'm walking I cant help listening to people talking.
"Chaos seems to be here right now!" I looked at the woman sitting with the others.
The truth? Why are they here? Just for that windy?
I just squeezed my two hands into the pocket of my uniform.
"That gay man is wearing a jacket! Let's find him quickly!" I just shook hands with the two women.
So pathetic.
Surface of their pleasures.
You're really dead Chaos!
When I got to the lobby I immediately rolled my eyes but he wasn't there, and I noticed a lot of people and seemed to be looking for someone.
Looks like I already know who they're looking for.
I hope he goes home.
I turned around when suddenly my phone rang
It's Chaos.
That's why even against my will, I answered.
"Hello?" My lazy said.
"I can see you butternut." I looked around, where is he?
"Where are you?"
"Turn around please." I immediately followed what he said but I still couldn't see him. Is this man cheating on me?
I would have been annoyed when his head appeared on the grass and his phone was in his right ear.
The fool smiled again. As usual
"Stop smirking Chaos, it doesn't matter to you." He chuckled, making me even more bored.
"Why? Do I look more handsome even when I'm far away?" Even from a distance, I could see him raising his eyebrows.
This jerk!
"It's really your wind! It's up to you to catch your crazy fans!" I would have taken it down when he answered quickly.
"Okay fine, I'll come out then I'll shout my name so they know you're the one I'm bringing back here." He said coolly. Based on his face, it looks like he is calm and I know he will really do that
I will reall kill you Chaos!
I saw him smile again when I started to go with him.
What should I do to get rid of this taxman in my life?
"Chao--" how come he pulled me, just like him I was already sitting. In our spot it was really blurry to see us.
"Shh!your noise they can hear you." He whispered, I was bored but the idiot was still smiling and seemed to be still happy in our position. We are very close to each other.
"What are you doing here?" Instead of answering my question, he handed me again his sunflowers. But I just looked at it.
"C'mon accept it, I can't count how many times you reject me and even when you haven't accepted anything from me." He frowned, as if I had a boyfriend.
"Believe me Chaos, it's better that you don't hand over it because I'm sure it will grow in the trash again."
"So? And at least you accepted it, didn't you?" He proudly said. And is he really proud that I'm throwing away his flowers? Really crazy.
The fool was still smiling. So I did nothing and accepted the flower of this wind.
I looked to the side near us, I smell something. That's why it stinks because the trash can is next to us. Luckily!
Without hesitation, I threw the flower in the trash again, his smiles immediately disappeared.
"It's okay." Then he shrugged his shoulders but I just roll my eyes.
"Aalis na ---" I was about to stand when he pulled me again.
F*ck! That hurts!
"Chaos what--"
"Ssh! someone will pass by." Then two women passed by.
"It looks like Chaos left earlier. We've been touring this pest hospital." I heard someone say, I looked at Chaos he was just serious.
"What is that! We were just fooled when we posted! Maybe Chaos isn't really here!"
"I'm sure he is here!" Then they went straight.
"I don't know why you're so crazy." He looked at me.
"What? I'm handsome so it's normal." I gasped, and the screw in his brain was really big because of his wind.
Very proud of yourself.
"I'm also impressed with your courage." I sarcastically said.
"Admit it, that somehow my charms are still effective with you." His eyebrows went up and down again.
"You wish Chaos."
Again, I heard his laugh again.
Annoying.
"Really? Maybe one day you'll eat what you're saying."
"I'd rather just throw up." He chuckled again.
When I saw that no one was in our direction, I stood up and he followed.
"I'll pick you up later?" He asked shaking.
"Get your head."
"Which head is mine? Up or down?" When he teased me, I don't know but I felt the heat on my cheek. I slapped his arm.
"What? You said we're heads two men." And it looks like the idiot is still having fun with me.
Seriously?
Fools just can't get what he said!
"Stop it!"
"Woa! Are you blushing?" He was amazed and approached me, I immediately backed away.
"N-no! Assuming you are!"
"No, I'll see you."
"You really hate me make you blushing?" But he kept coming.
"Chaos! Go home!"
"Not when I do this." I was frozen of what he did, before I even knew he quickly disappeared from my sight.
F*ck! He kissed me!
it's just on my cheek!
My brain screams but even! He has no right!
Trembling, I touched my cheek as he kissed me. And disgusted erased even though it cannot be erased.
Damn!
I blush not out of trepidation or anything if not out of anger.
The thickness of that man's lime! Annoying!
he feels like all women are touched by his wind! But he changed me! I have strong standards for a man, not for someone like him!
He's just famous but I don't like him.
Like him is the kind of man who will only make a woman cry.
I looked at my phone when he texted.
Chaos:
"I'm not sorry for what I did butternut, next time on your lips."
I immediately stared at that emoticon! F*ck!
I immediately typed for him to reply.
Me:
"F*ck you!"
He quickly replied to what I said at four o'clock.
Chaos:
"Not now butternut, we will do that soon."
And again I felt my blood boil again.
There are so many of these men ever!
I know what he replied!
Annoyed, I just turned off my phone, next time I'll turn off the windy Chaos.
I wasted my time just for that idiot!
"Nurse Sha!" I frowned at the panting Jill.
"Why?"
"Because Thirdy suddenly woke up and started crying." I was immediately worried.
"H-ha? But I'll just sleep with him."
"He's crying even though his parents are there. They can't settle down so Doctor Patrick calls you so you can settle down."
"Okay, lets go." Then we almost ran to Thirdy's room.
Why is it? He was okay earlier.
"Leave me alone! I dont need all of you here!" Up outside we heard Thirdy shout.
When I entered I saw the couple on the side and the lady crying while Doctor Patrick was removing the blanket that covered Thirdy, and stomping on his feet.
Doctor turned to me so I approached.
"Pleaseee go away I dont need all of you."Thirdy said while crying, Doctor gave me way so I came even closer and touched the blanket.
"Remove your hands!" Thirdy shouted as I touched the blanket.
"Thirdy it's me, Nurse Sha."he stopped crying when I spoke. Quickly at four o'clock he removed the blanket and hugged me.
"Shh..." I said while stroking his back.
"Nurse pleaseee, they are hurting me. I don't like them. I don't trust them."
"Hey that's your mom and dad, don't you want them here?"
I was sad when he shook his head, I turned to the couple. The lady cried even harder.
"But they are your parents Thirdy."
"No! They let me suffer nurse. I dont want them. They are bad."
"Son Thirdy..." The lady approached, I was about to remove Thirdy's hug when he tightened it.
"Don't touch me!" Thirdy shouted when his mommy touched him.
"Thirdy..." The lady cried.
"He needs to drink his med Nurse Sha." Doctor said, I looked at the pile of medicine on the table. I sighed,
"Thirdy you need to take your meds. You want to go to school right?" I felt him nod.
"That meds are so more Nurse Sha." I'm sad,
"How will you recover if you don't take your medicine?"
"But---" I turned to Thirdy.
"Please you said you're a big boy right? What does Nurse always say?" I rubbed his cheek.
"Close your eyes and everything will be alright." I smiled and took his medicine and he took it.
I saw him close his eyes while drinking his snacks. I feel sad every time he has such a scene.
he is so pale.
I immediately held his water carefully and helped his drink.
He looked up when he finished, I don't know but I felt the lightness in my chest when he smiled.
"Are you sleeping okay?" He nodded and I helped him lie down and arranged the blanket.
When I thought he was asleep I got up and faced his parents.
I was surprised when the lady hugged me.
"Thank you nurse." She was crying in the middle of her hug, I smiled.
"I don't just look like a patient to Thirdy ma'am, I look for him as my little brother."
She broke away from the hug and took my hand.
