Introduction

My mate's mistress poisoned me. I woke up in a haunted castle with twenty-nine other dead people and a voice in my head telling me the rules: survive seven days, and I'd get to live again.
Everyone else ran from the monsters. I knocked on my monster's door and asked what was for dinner.
My brain has been wired wrong since the day I was born. The scarier something is, the prettier it looks to me.
So when a little girl in a blood-soaked dress grabbed my throat, I picked her up and checked her for cuts. Five minutes later, she was calling me Mama.
That night, her father walked in. The final boss. Anyone else would've seen a rotting corpse. I saw the hottest man alive.
"Wow," I said. "You're gorgeous."
The monster who'd killed every player before me went red to the tips of his ears. "...Say that again."

Chapter 1

My destined mate had been sleeping with another woman. She was the one who poisoned me with wolfsbane. When I opened my eyes again, I was somewhere else entirely.

Before I could figure out where, a voice spoke inside my head.

[Welcome to Blackspire Keep.]

[Stay alive in the castle for seven days, and you win.]

[Players entered: 30. Players alive: 30.]

[Enjoy your stay.]

The voice faded, leaving thirty strangers standing in a grand hall. Someone started crying.

"This place is horrible. Somebody get me out of here."

I looked around. Horrible?

I was born with my brain wired wrong. Doctors had a long name for it. The pack just called me broken. The more gruesome something looked to everyone else, the prettier it looked to me. Whatever the others were seeing in this hall, I saw warm candlelight and a place I wouldn't mind staying.

A man in a knight's armor was swinging his sword at the shadows. "Come out and face me, coward!"

Two people stepped out of the crowd, wands in hand, looking far too calm for the situation. They introduced themselves as Selene and Dorian, mages who'd been through this game before.

According to them, every one of us had already died back home. This castle was a game built to scare us to death all over again. It had thirty floors, and every floor had at least one monster living on it. The higher you went, the worse they got.

Clear all thirty floors and score 9,999 points, and you got your life back. There was a cash prize too. Big enough that you'd never have to work another day.

Now that got my attention.

"How do we score points?" I asked.

"Your fear meter," Dorian said. "It runs from zero to a hundred. Every time you clear a challenge, whatever's left under a hundred goes into your score. Hit a hundred, and you're dead."

The meter showed how scared you were. Experienced players knew how to keep theirs down. New players usually needed a few days before they could look at a monster without falling apart.

I did the math in my head. "So if I stay at zero, I get a hundred points every single time?" I grinned. "That's easy money."

The whole hall went quiet. Every head turned my way.

What I didn't know was that the whole game was being livestreamed. I couldn't see the live chat, but the viewers had plenty to say.

Live Chat:

GraveDigger_99: Every round has one newbie who talks like this. She'll be the first to scream.

NightOwl77: This is a nightmare-tier dungeon. Even veteran witches don't make it out of Blackspire Keep.

hexqueen: Okay, little wolf. Let's see that zero hold.

That evening, we had to choose where to stay.

"Every floor has an apartment," Selene explained. "At night, the monsters move in and play the part of your family. You'll live with them, eat with them and sleep under the same roof."

Judging by the faces around me, that was the worst news yet.

Selene and Dorian took the first and second floors before anyone could argue. Everyone else stampeded for the lowest floors left. By the time they'd finished shoving past me, there was only one floor nobody wanted.

"Hey, Miss Zero," someone called. "You're not scared of anything, right? Then the thirtieth floor's all yours. Go prove it."

They walked off laughing.

Fine by me. The thirtieth floor it was.

Live Chat:

RIPinPeace: They just sent her straight to the final boss. She's not seeing morning.

Upstairs, I took a look around. Warm colors, soft lamps, furniture nicer than anything I'd ever owned. If the hall downstairs was pretty, this place was a dream home.

Back home, I'd slept under bridges and on sidewalks, with my dog curled against me for warmth. On the worst winter nights, we'd just hold on and wait for the sun. A room of my own was more than I'd ever let myself want.

And now someone was going to live here with me.

I marched up to the bedroom door and pounded on it.

"Hello? I'm starving out here! Can somebody feed me before I pass out?"

Live Chat:

Lurker_Lou: Who bangs on the BOSS'S door and asks for snacks??

DeadEyeDan: She's faking. Three seconds after that door opens, she's screaming.

GraveDigger_99: Eyes on her fear meter, people.

The Rejected Luna’s Rise

They were already married for three years when Alpha Damian Zeus’s long-lost first love, Lily, returned bringing along a five-year-old pup.

Luna Ariana Volkstane slid the formal rejection request across the table. "Let's end this bond. It's better for you, me, and your first love."

He just smirked. "You want me to reject you? You think you can break our bond that easily?"

So she did. Ariana cut ties with him completely, poured herself into her career, and rose to global fame as a legendary healer, her knowledge of rare herbs, wolf anatomy, and ancient magic sought after across continents.

The powerful suitors lined up. The Alpha of an overseas empire whispered, "Ariana, hurry up and perform the severing ritual. I can't wait to claim you." A powerful pack leader vowed, "I'll be there with you the day you break the bond." A legendary wolf attorney promised, "I'll handle your rejection case with the pack council myself."

Ariana just rubbed her temples. It's not that she didn't want the split, she wanted it more than anything, it's just that the Alpha she was mated to refused to let go.

Finally, she announced, "Whoever can officially get me rejected, I'll put you at the head table of my bond-breaking celebration."

Not long after, Alpha Damian was served the official rejection request right in the middle of an emergency pack council meeting. That same afternoon, he was attacked by rogues at the gates of his own territory.

When Ariana showed up at the pack infirmary with healing herbs, she repeated calmly, "Let's sever the mate bond. It's better for you, me, and everyone else."

But the cold, untouchable Alpha pulled her into his arms, his eyes blood-red with fury. "You want me to reject you? Over my dead body."

I caught him.

The man I was meant to marry—the rising Alpha, the pride of the Pack—thrusting into another girl like I didn't exist.

But I didn't cry. I didn't scream. I didn't even flinch.

Because the pain had carved me hollow long before he ever touched her.

He thinks I'm weak. That I'll stand by his side in two days, smile for the ceremony, and hand him my loyalty with the Alpha title.

But he's wrong.

I'm not the broken little Luna they think I am. I'm the storm they never saw coming.

The Pack worships him, but only I know the truth buried beneath his perfect lies. So I'll take everything he wants most—the throne, the title, the crown he was born to wear—and win it out from under him, in front of everyone who ever called me unworthy.

Screw the Pack. Screw the respect. Screw being tame.

I'm fury dressed in skin, madness wearing heels, and heartbreak turned into a goddamn weapon.

They wanted a loyal Luna??

Instead...

They created a monster.

And when the throne is finally mine...

The Pack won't remember the name of the Alpha who betrayed me.

They'll remember the woman who took his crown...

and became the First Female Alpha.

AN AGE GAP, FORCED PROXIMITY, BLACK FLAG ROMANCE

Vincenzo Valentini is a man who sees the world as a business counter and human beings as merchandise.

The owner of an empire built upon corpses and submission, he is the reflection of pure perversity.

When fate places Andrew Thompson, the son of his greatest rival, into his hands, the plan was simple: use him, break him, and discard him like a toy that has lost its appeal.

What Vincenzo did not expect was that, beneath the youthful skin and the appearance of innocence, Andrew hid the same abyss as he did.

Vincenzo never wanted redemption. He never wanted someone to save him from his own darkness. He was seeking a mirror. And in Andrew, he found the partner who, upon seeing his blood-stained hands, does not recoil in terror, but trembles with desire.

In this perverse game, the "little toy" proves to be the perfect executioner. The mafia leader found someone who not only accepts his cruel side but cultivates it, feeding the monster Vincenzo has always been.

Where there should have been fear, lust emerged. Where there should have been hatred, a perverse loyalty was born. Andrew Thompson is the dark reflection of Vincenzo, the soldier the underworld did not see coming, and the man who proved that, for some, paradise only makes sense if it is in the middle of chaos.

Vincenzo opened the doors to his empire, but Andrew was the only one capable of invading his heart.

They are not heroes. They are hell on earth.
