Introduction
Chapter 1
Noises, cheers, loud music; it all filled up the room. Bodies rubbing against each other in sync as the beat literally shook the whole building.
“Tonight is going to be fun!” Evelyn screamed in order for us to hear her as she gulped down another of her whiskey.
Another of my friend's, Chloe turned to me, a grin on her heavily painted red lips.
“Tonight is all about your
accomplishment Anita, try not to be too stiff tonight.”
“I’ll try not to.” I managed to give a small smile.
The music suddenly turned up, the vibe of the party immediately shooting to a 100.
“Oh My God, this is our song!” Evelyn squealed “C’mon lets go dance.”
I felt myself being pulled up by Evelyn, dragged all the way to the middle of the dance floor. Almost Immediately, the dance floor was filled with people, dancing and grinding to the sound of the music. I suddenly felt that party rush inside of me as I take another sip from my glass.
This night is indeed supposed to be my night yet they seem to be the one having fun.
If someone told me that one interview will put a stop to my 4 years of job hunting, I wouldn’t have believed it. All interviews I had gone through over the last couple of years ended up being a dead end. From one fruitless interview to another; all ending with the same result— no returned calls.
In the span of 4 good years, I finally have the chance to show the business world what I've got. I was given the position of an assistant operations coordinator for Norex— one of Florida’s biggest construction companies. If possible, I felt on top of the word that moment, and my friends; Evelyn and Chloe didn’t hesitate to celebrate the moment the news reached them. At least now; Jake would be more happy as I could now be of support to him.
Letting myself drown in total bliss,I continued gulping down each glass one after the other, loving the feel of the hot liquor flowing down my tongue.
I was no longer jobless. Gulp
Jake would finally be proud to have me as his girlfriend. At that point all I could already feel the effect of the alcohol working strongly in my system but I was no where near stopping at this point. All I could feel was the constant alcohol making it’s way into my senses and system.

Somewhere in the steaming club, a set of guys looked down at the dancing person’s from above. Various drinks placed on their table—one of them on the other hand just stared at his carefree friends, observing their how they vibed to the music and ogled at the ladies.
“Aren’t you having fun, Declan?” Rick asked his friend who was continuously checking the his watch, anxiously waiting for the moment he could leave.
He let out a laugh “Declan, can you loosen up already?.”
“Rick’s right. You’ve been looking at your watch the whole night now.” Phil, another of his airheaded friend pointed out.
“We’ve been here for hours now.” Declan finally spoke “Don’t you think the celebration should be over by now?”
“Loosen up, it's your night after all. You finally caught the big fish.” Phil says as he raised his glass In the air. “ You’re one lucky bastard my dude.” He gulps down the full glass in one go.
A big fish? If anything, he's the big and the person he closed a deal with should be celebrating instead.
He checked his watch one more time “I really don't have the time for this”
“C’mon, just have a few drinks, can't you see I’m fine?” Phil flung his hands in the air as he slouched against his seat.
How exactly did he make friends who are his complete opposite?
Declan sighed as he watched his two friends drowning themselves, equally filling their eyes with woman while their systems with alcohol. The whole celebration is as a result of himself and his team finally closing a deal they’ve been chasing for the past months. The rest of the staff had gone out for their own separate celebration while Rick had insisted on them going out to celebrate the closing of the deal.
In as much as it is a big fish, Declan couldn't just see himself jumping for joy because closing deals has been a peace of cake for years now.
“But damn, they’re a lot of hotties here.
Don’t you think so Declan?”
“I don’t see how I should be concerned about that.” Declan says as he pops open the bottle of beer and fills up his glass—he’s obviously not leaving anytime soon.
“Talking about hottie, I see one at a distance right now.” Phil said as his attention is directed towards someone at a distance, not that it bothered Dec
lan who the person was. Just as Declan expected, his playboy friend dropped his glass and gets up from this seat.
What the hell was he doing?

My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.

Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
