After I Married, the Werewolf Bodyguard Regretted It
lily · Completed · 5.9k Words
Introduction
But just as I reached the bodyguards' private lounge, I saw him under the moonlight, reverently kissing a photo of my sister Seraphina.
After he released his desires, a werewolf quietly appeared:
"Alpha Anthony, if Thea knew your true identity as the king of the Thunder Tribe, she’d probably be shocked."
Anthony smirked disdainfully:
"What does it matter? I came here only to get close to Seraphina. As for the others, I don’t care whether they live or die."
His words sent me fleeing in despair. My heart felt as if it were being crushed by a massive wolf’s claw, the pain so intense that tears streamed down my face.
So it was all just my own wishful thinking.
Resigned, I walked into my father’s room and said:
"Father, I am willing to enter a political marriage with Alpha Caleb."
On the Moon Goddess Festival three days later, I would marry the brutal Alpha Caleb.
And as for Anthony—I would personally deliver him to Seraphina.
Chapter 1
After dreaming about having sex with Anthony for the 99th time, I finally decided to confess my feelings to him.
But when I reached the bodyguards' lounge, I saw him kissing my sister Seraphina's photo devotedly under the moonlight.
After he finished venting his desires, a werewolf quietly appeared: "Alpha Anthony, I wonder if Beatrice would be shocked to know your true identity as the king of Thunder Tribe."
Anthony laughed dismissively: "So what? I only came here to get close to Seraphina. As for everyone else, I couldn't care less whether they live or die."
Anthony's words made me flee in panic. My heart felt like it was being crushed by a giant wolf's claw, the pain bringing me to tears.
It turned out everything was just my wishful thinking.
I walked into my father's room resignedly and said, "Father, I'm willing to marry Alpha Richard."
At the Moon Festival in three days, I would marry the cruel Alpha Richard.
As for Anthony, I would personally give him to Seraphina.
Father was surprised by my change of heart.
After all, just yesterday, when he told me to marry Richard in Seraphina's place, I had firmly refused.
Now seeing me give in, Father finally softened his tone: "It's good that you're being sensible. Your sister is still too young, really not suitable for marriage."
I sneered inwardly.
This so-called sister was just an illegitimate daughter, the same age as me.
She was young, but I was only one month older than her.
I didn't want to expose Father's favoritism. I only made one request: "I'll marry him, but you must return Mother's belongings to me."
The day Father brought Seraphina home, Mother was literally driven to death by anger. The only thing she left behind was the necklace symbolizing her status.
Father hesitated briefly, but for Seraphina's sake, he agreed. "Fine, I'll give it to you in three days."
With his promise, I prepared to return to my room.
Maybe my mind was too chaotic - I twisted my ankle going up the stairs.
The expected pain didn't come. I was caught tightly in someone's arms.
Anthony coldly steadied me: "Miss Beatrice, be careful."
Looking at him like this, I only felt sadness.
Back when I was being hunted by werewolves from other tribes, he appeared and saved my life.
Later, when he came to my family to apply as a bodyguard, to thank him, I directly requested him as my personal bodyguard.
All these years, no matter what danger I faced, he was always there to protect me.
Once, when someone pushed me off a cliff, he risked everything to save me and nearly died.
I thought his tenderness was only for me, so I fell hopelessly in love with him.
But now I realized his kindness to me was just to use me to get close to Seraphina!
Thinking that the hands touching me had just done those things to Seraphina's photo, I felt disgusted and roughly pushed him away. "I'm fine."
Anthony's eyes widened slightly, surprised by my attitude.
After all, I used to be most tolerant of him.
I didn't explain. Maybe I was too angry - I twisted my ankle again.
But this time, Anthony didn't protect me.
Because Seraphina's cry suddenly rang out from downstairs.
The moment the sharp pain hit, I only saw Anthony's figure rushing downstairs.
The reason was just that Seraphina's foot had gotten slightly red.
I followed downstairs through the pain, watching Anthony kneel at Seraphina's feet, tenderly applying medicine for her.
Werewolves have healing abilities. Even though my foot gradually stopped hurting, my heart felt like it was being gnawed by countless ants.
'Anthony, so this is how obvious the difference between love and indifference is. But don't worry, I'll help you get what you want.'

He moaned against my throat as he drank, and the sound was devastating.

Love's Deadly Equation
I was sent to her.
To watch her. To protect her. And, when the order comes… to kill her.
My name is Keegan Caffery. I’m the Carter Mafia’s best hitman. I don’t miss. I don’t fail.
At least, I didn’t use to.
I don’t know what it is about her that got to me first—her mouth, her mind, or the way she looks at me like I’m not what she should fear.
I’ve had a gun to her head since I walked into her life.
She knows it.
And she still doesn’t run.
She just watches me back like she’s studying a problem she refuses to call impossible.
She’s the one variable I can’t control.
And God help me… I don’t want to.
I have an order. I have loyalty. I have a trigger.
But every time I imagine it—
I can’t stand it.
Her or me. That’s the math.
It’s a deadly equation I don’t want to solve.
⬥ Maisie ⬥
I’m not ordinary. I stopped pretending long ago.
My name is Maisie Seo. IQ 145. Clinical genius.
Which sounds impressive until you realize what it actually means: I don’t fit anywhere people expect me to.
I see patterns everywhere. Outcomes before they happen. People like equations I’ve already solved.
It gets lonely in a world you’ve already figured out.
So I dull myself down. Smoke the edges off. Pretend, badly, to be the kind of normal that lets people stay.
Then he walked in.
I knew what he was immediately. Dangerous. Intentional. Wrong in all the right ways.
I should be afraid of him.
I keep waiting for that to kick in.
Instead, I’m fascinated.
Because for the first time in my life… I’ve found something I can’t solve.
He is my deadly equation.

I’m not going to let one cold stare undo that.

**
I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.
And still—
Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.
Especially not her.
Especially not someone like her.
She’s not my problem.
And I’ll make damn sure she never becomes one.
But when my eyes fell on her lips, I wanted her to be mine.
