Introduction
The fire took more than walls. It took names. Faces. Pieces of me I’ll never get back.
Now it’s back. Different street, same smoke. Same teeth in the dark.
The brass call it arson. I call it unfinished business.
Every blaze leaves a mark a body, a whisper, a threat carved in soot. Someone wants me chasing. Someone wants me choking on the past.
I should walk away. Let the flames eat the city clean. But the next fire is already lit. And I know where it’s burning.
Not a matter of if I get there in time. Just what I’ll lose when I do.
Chapter 1
The call hit at three a.m. A whisper through the static, dispatcher half-asleep, half-panicked. Structure fire. South side brownstone. One confirmed fatal, maybe two. I pulled myself out of bed, boots laced before my head even caught up. I hadn’t been sleeping anyway.
Port Meridian doesn’t sleep, it smolders. The city’s skin peels back in the hours when everyone decent hides. Sirens scream in the distance like lullabies for the damned. By the time I hit the block, the fire was almost out, smoke crawling low like it didn’t want to leave. Greasy, chemical smoke. Not the accidental kind.
The brownstone sagged on its bones. Windows gutted, brick face blackened. Firefighters moved through the wreck like surgeons pulling organs out of a corpse. Their eyes slid over me, then away. Nobody wants a detective around while the embers are still hot.
“Detective Ellison.” The fire chief’s voice was gravel wrapped in whiskey. He pointed me inside with a jaw twitch. “Body’s yours.”
The stairs creaked under my weight, damp from the hoses. My flashlight sliced through steam, cut into the charred ribs of the house. Second floor landing. That’s where they’d set him. Not burned in panic. Not caught by accident. He was arranged.
Male. Late forties. Dressed in a suit that should’ve been hanging in a dry cleaner’s, not smeared in soot. His body was strapped upright to a wooden chair, arms pinned tight, head tilted like a man waiting for his shave. The fire had licked him, but not swallowed. Clothes blackened, skin blistered, but his face was intact. Too intact.
The eyes were wide open. Glassy. They looked at me like he knew I was coming.
I circled the body slow, the beam of light crawling across ash. That’s when I saw it. Words written on the floor in gray-black smear. Not carved, not painted. Written with ash.
HELLO, MARA.
The letters stretched jagged, uneven, but deliberate. My chest went cold.
I heard my name in the walls, in the hiss of dying flame. Heard it like the voice was pressed against my ear.
I stepped back. Too quick. My heel hit something soft. I turned the light down. Matchbox. Red cardboard curled from heat but not consumed. I bent, picked it up with gloved fingers. Logo burned into the side. Same brand from twenty-four years ago. Same ones I used to flick at twelve years old, the night my parents died in a blaze that gutted half my childhood.
My hands didn’t shake, but my throat burned like smoke was lodged there. Whoever staged this wasn’t sloppy. They wanted me to find this. They wanted me here.
Footsteps on the stairs broke the moment. My partner, Rourke, broad frame filling the doorway. Shirt rumpled, tie loose, eyes sagging like he’d been dragged through a bar before he got the call.
“Christ,” he muttered, eyes on the body. “Looks like theater.”
“Looks like a message,” I said.
He saw the writing. His jaw clenched. “Someone’s screwing with you.”
No. Someone was inviting me.
The room stank of accelerant under the char. Whoever the victim was, he hadn’t gone gentle. His fingernails were chipped down, blood caked around them. But the staging said control. Patience. This wasn’t about the man in the chair. It was about me.
I bagged the matchbox, slid it into my pocket. Evidence would go through the usual chain, but I wanted it close. Like an anchor.
Rourke’s phone buzzed. He muttered something under his breath, stepped out to take it. I stayed. Staring. The corpse stared back.
Then I heard it. A click. Subtle, behind me.
I spun. Flashlight beam darted across the ruined walls, floor slick with water. Empty. Empty—
Another sound. This time behind the wall. A faint scratch, like nails dragged against wood.
I stepped toward it, ears tight, heart beating harder than I wanted to admit. The sound moved with me. Following. Taunting.
The wall gave a sigh. A panel of scorched wood shifted, slow. Not by my hand.
“Mara!” Rourke’s voice barked from the hall.
I didn’t answer. My light fixed on the crack opening in the wall. Heat breathed out, fresh and alive. Smoke coiled.
And then I saw it. A shadow inside the crawlspace. Not human-shaped. Not animal. A smear of black, limping, bending, dragging itself like it was half-broken, half-born.
The beam caught its edge, but the face never showed. Only the limp. Left side. The same as in my father’s last moments.
It stopped, turned. I felt eyes on me even if the dark gave me nothing.
Rourke’s footsteps thundered closer. The thing slid back into the crawlspace, swallowed by the dark. Wood snapped shut like it had never moved.
“Mara!” He was in the doorway now, face pale. “What the hell are you doing?”
I stared at the sealed wall, smoke still curling at the edges. My flashlight beam shook now. Just once.
“Listening,” I said. My voice wasn’t mine anymore. It was low. Burned out.
He frowned, followed my light. Saw nothing. Just blackened wall.
But I’d heard it. A whisper in the static, threaded through smoke.
“Wrong sister.”
The words hit like a match strike. And then the floor under my boots groaned, gave way with a crack.
The last thing I saw was the corps
e in the chair staring down at me as I fell into the fire-black basement below.

The Hunter and The Hunted
Mihai’s hand slowly slides up my stomach, his fingers wrapping around my neck as he cuts of my ability to breathe, black spots clouding my vision, and yet, I am not afraid. I want more. I want everything that he can give to me.
He slowly inserts a third finger, the intense fullness that I feel teetering me over the edge of a cliff I cannot even see, and then he sucks and pulls at my clit. Sparks erupt throughout my body, the orgasm shaking my soul, and destroying what was left of my resistance.
She was the Daughter of a Hunter, he was one of the creatures that her family had sworn to destroy, what could possibly go wrong?
When their worlds collide, who will be left standing, will it be the hunter or the hunted, and which is which?
Vengeance of the Forsaken Luna
"Bella." Ethan's tone shifted, taking on that warning edge I knew too well. "Faye is vulnerable right now. She's terrified you'll resent her, that this will divide the pack. The last thing she wants is for this baby to come between us."
"Then you shouldn't have done it." I met his eyes squarely, letting him see the ice in mine. "Go back to your son."
"For fuck's sake." He dragged a hand through his hair. "How many times—it was artificial insemination. They used my sperm, yes, but Faye and I never—"
Bella let out a cold snort. Such brazen lies. Her mate had an affair with his brother's partner, and his entire family helped force her out with nothing, all to make way for the mistress to take her rightful position. Poor fool—he thought she was just an unwanted adopted daughter, easy to dismiss and control. He never knew the computer genius he'd been searching for was his own Luna.
Since he'd tainted himself, Bella was done. She rejected him and reclaimed what was hers, rising to the top with help from Victor, who'd been secretly in love with her for years.
When Ethan tried winning her back: "You don't want our child growing up fatherless."
Bella smiled mockingly. "The child's father isn't you."

Ruined : You will always be mine.
“Fuckkk”, I couldn’t help but scream.
“You need to learn to be obedient” he said as he kept thrusting into me. When I felt his hands on my clit my body shook.
“Asher please, it’s too much”.
“No. if I really wanted to punish you, I would give you all of me”, he said against my ears and my entire body froze. Suddenly he moved and I was standing again. This man was insane.
I felt him behind me. “Ten Lashes for your disobedience”, he said
“Asher please”,
“No”. His voice was cold and void of any emotion.
Asher was what I wanted , what I truly craved until it was too late. An orphan should never fall in love with someone out of their reach. I thought loving him was the right thing to do until he revealed his true identity and Ruined me. I was ruined for everyone one else . I could still feel his touch, it was as if it was etched into my skin. I tired to avoid him but fate wouldn't let it happen.
The Sterling's were the most powerful in Havenwood and Dorian Sterling was off limits.
As an orphan finding out you still have people looking for you is hard to take but when it turns out to be people of wealth and standing I took the other road and ran, but running led me right back to the place I was avoiding and the person I was avoiding.
Asher and Dorling Sterling one and the same. When his first love shows up and along with everyone that has set out to ruin me, I prayed that he could protect me.
I Found the Babies
"When..." He growled in my ear, "When we will be getting married, I will be your only king, do you get my point? Only one queen, no misters or mistresses. Just me, just you, and yeah, our babies."
I shivered.
Alyssa Reynolds found herself in a situation, while returning home from work, and she had three choices:
Simply walk away and forget that you ever heard the sound of wailing infants.
Call the police and inform them about the innocent wails.
Follow the sounds of the wails and take the matter in your hands, deciding what to do later.
Being a kindhearted soul and a sucker for babies, she found herself choosing the third option, finding the two little lives.
Two little lives that changed her whole life, her love life included. Her life now revolved around the babies as diapers, vomit and shit seemed to surround her.
Just when she thought that now it's just her and the babies, her whole world flipped over and she found herself living under the same roof as the egotistical, obnoxious and hot-as-hell Terence Powers, the business tycoon who was not going to let the woman fend off for herself and the babies alone.
The Unwritten Princess
My name is Mia, and everything I touch is dying.
The flowers beneath my mother's window turned black overnight. The herbs I gathered at dawn rotted in my hands. When the court wizard finally told me the truth—that someone cursed me, that my presence would kill everyone I love—I realized the prophecy everyone believed was never meant to save the kingdom. It was meant to destroy me.
So I ran. Not to fulfill some destiny, but to survive it.
Now I'm traveling with a hunter who lost his companions to the same curse I carry, chasing fragments of a prophecy the Fae sing differently. An elf took a baby from the palace the night I was born. And somewhere between the lies I've been told and the truth I'm hunting, I'm starting to suspect: What if I'm not the princess from the prophecy at all?
