Billionaire's reborn bride
Ayomie Seun · Ongoing · 32.7k Words
Introduction
She woke up six years earlier the morning of her wedding.
Megan Cole knows every lie, every trap, every smiling face that will eventually destroy her. This time, she's not the girl who bleeds quietly. This time, she walks down that aisle on her own terms, stands next to the cold, brilliant man everyone warned her to fear, and makes one choice she never made the first time around.
She chooses herself.
And God help everyone who stole from her.
Chapter 1
"Mr. Ryan Shaw, do you take Ms. Vanessa Cole to be your wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to care for her, to cherish her, and to never leave her? Do you?"
"I do," the handsome and elegant groom in his sharp suit said gently.
On the other side, in the dark basement.
A man wearing a silver mask pinched Megan Cole's chin, forcing her to look up at the video.
"Take a good look at this, the man she loves is marrying her dear sister, wow, what a touching wedding."
Megan's eyes were bloodshot, as if sulfuric acid had been poured into them, flowing all the way to her heart and burning it.
In the video, her fiancé, Ryan Shaw, is marrying her half-sister, Vanessa Cole.
The lavish wedding was a grand affair, attracting a large number of guests, including almost half of the elite social circles, including wealthy and powerful figures.
Ryan said to the camera with deep affection, "Vanessa, I want to thank you. Without your support, I wouldn't have achieved what I have today. Having your love is the greatest fortune of my life..."
Shameless, the both of them!
Megan's eyes widened in horror, and tears streamed down her face.
At this moment, she finally realized that her stepsister had been having an affair with Ryan all along.
They conspired to frame her, slander her, and exploit her, tricking her into marrying the half-paralyzed, cold-blooded, and obsessive young heir of the Holt family, using her to extract profits from the Holts.
They seized the inheritance left to her by her mother, and her stepsister took her place as a famous designer, rising through the ranks by sucking her blood.
The masked man placed his expensive leather shoes on Megan's head, a smile playing on his lips: "Does it look good?"
Megan tried to see the man's face through her messy black hair...
"Oh? Still thinking about revenge? Do you think anyone still cares about you?" the man sneered.
"You betrayed your husband, who is worth billions, and messed around with all sorts of scoundrels. The Holt family has long since disowned you as their daughter-in-law. Grandpa Cole has also issued a statement severing ties with you and forbidding you from ever stepping into the Cole family again."
"Your only loving grandfather was so angered by you that he had a heart attack and died in the street. Now, even if you die, no one will collect your body."
What? Grandpa...
Megan's bloodshot eyes were filled with shock. She whimpered and struggled frantically to resist, biting the man's hand hard...
The man's eyes were filled with malice as he grabbed her hair and slammed her head against the coffee table...
Bang! With a muffled thud, the wine bottles and glasses on the table were smashed to pieces...
The wine smeared on her messy hair, and Megan's face contorted in pain as she collapsed softly to the ground, her face pale.
The man's eyes were full of contempt.
Her stepmother, stepsister, boyfriend, and best friend all leech off her, yet she believes that after fourteen years of wandering, she has finally found family, been accepted by them, and has a new life.
She naively thought that after she finished what they asked her to do and left Ethan Holt, Ryan would come and marry her.
Instead, what she got was him walking down the aisle with her best friend, looking high and mighty, carefree and at ease...
They framed her for adultery, ruining her reputation and alienating her from everyone. They then secretly sold her to this terrible man in exchange for more benefits...
"How boring. I don't know what Ethan Holt likes about you. You know, it's all thanks to your crazy attempt to escape him that he was seriously injured and fell into a coma while saving you. Heh, I just love watching him lose everything and suffer unbearable pain..."
"However, I'm tired of playing now, you can leave." The masked man smiled dangerously and wickedly.
Really? Megan couldn't believe her ears.
She struggled to her feet and was about to leave when suddenly, with a soft "plop," a sharp pain shot through her back.
She looked down, and the silver blade pierced her heart...
Megan endured the excruciating pain and slowly turned around...
Behind her, Ryan Shaw, dressed in a groom's suit, plunged a dagger into her heart...
His cold, handsome face was expressionless, and he looked at her as if she were a piece of trash: "Megan Cole, you are not good enough for me at all. You are not even one ten-thousandth as good as Vanessa. I feel disgusted just looking at you. Useless things do not deserve to exist, so disappear forever!"
Megan heard the sound of her heart shattering, and the pain was suffocating...
She moved her lips, and blood immediately gushed down the corner of her mouth, but she couldn't utter a single word...
The screen replayed the happy scene of the groom kissing the bride, so ironic...
She hated it so much!
I hate how stupid I was!
She hated them; they took everything from her!
My body grew colder and colder, and darkness descended upon me...
...
"Sister, sister!" A disgusting voice rang in my ears.
Megan had a splitting headache. She slowly opened her eyes, the suffocating feeling in her chest still lingering.
"Sister, are you alright? Are you too nervous? Do you want some water?" Vanessa Cole, dressed in a bridesmaid dress, held Megan's hand tightly.
Megan's pupils contracted, and she subconsciously shook off her hand.
Vanessa?
How could her stepsister, who took everything from her and ruined her reputation, be here?
"Ah!" Vanessa almost fell over. "Sister, what are you doing! The wedding is about to start, everyone is waiting for you!"
Megan was taken aback and slowly looked around.
The spacious dressing room was covered with congratulatory decorations and adorned with flowers and balloons, creating a festive atmosphere.
On the table lay a gold-embossed wedding invitation, bearing the blessings of a happy marriage.
Outside the window, roses bloom in the manor, a magnificent sea of flowers stretching endlessly, as beautiful and dazzling as the blazing fire of July...
Today is... Megan's eyes widened suddenly, and she grabbed her phone from the table.
The date on her phone clearly showed that she had actually returned to six years ago, to the day she and Ethan Holt held their wedding.
Is this... a dream?
Vanessa was getting a little impatient and urged:
"Sister, we know you feel wronged, so be firm during the ceremony later. Don't cooperate with their oath-taking. Let that cripple from the Holt family know that you don't like him, and make him give up any thoughts of coveting you."
"Give your mother-in-law a hard time and let her know how powerful you are! Don't give her a nice look. Remind her that it's not our Cole family who are marrying above their station, but the Holt family who are clinging to you. Make them face reality."
"Sister, status is earned through hard work. You must be resolute and not leave the old woman any way out..."
Be firm?
Megan looked at Vanessa with a cold, scrutinizing gaze, her eyes blazing with anger...
She will never forget her wedding day, when she refused to exchange vows, rings, or address the bride as a bride, creating an incredibly awkward situation.
Mr. and Mrs. Holt genuinely wanted to treat their daughter-in-law well, but they never expected her to be such an ill-mannered, arrogant, and vulgar woman. Their faces were so gloomy that they could practically drip water, leaving them with a very bad impression of Megan.
Grandpa Cole was so angry that he suffered a heart attack on the spot.
Her rudeness, barbarity, and arrogance left a deep impression on everyone.
"Sister, don't say I didn't warn you. If you don't handle things well, not only will Dad, Mom, and Grandpa and Grandma look down on you..."

His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
