Introduction
Chapter 1
Matilda
"It's called Stockholm Syndrome, which is a situation where someone stays in a relationship full of violence," Dr. Collin explained.
One hour ago, I came here for healing; this is our third meeting after the first and second days when Dr. Collin only asked me to talk.
I came here after realizing that I had been trapped in the wrong relationship for three years after marrying a wealthy stranger.
"Forgive me, darling, forgive me. I didn't mean to. Please forgive me; don't leave me." Even his apologies often echoed in my ears after he slammed my body hard against the wall, and the image of him kneeling before me, crying as he saw me bleeding, repeatedly crossed my vision.
After all the apologies I gave, we finally divorced a week ago, and for that week, it felt like we were playing a game of cat and mouse. He has been looking for me everywhere to apologize and win me back. Even though I still love him, my desire to break free from him is just as strong. I ran to various places so that I wouldn't be tracked by him, and this week has been safe, but who knows about the next few days?
"Stockholm Syndrome was initially used to explain a psychological bond between hostages and their captors, kidnappers, or similar conditions where one individual has the dominant power to endanger the life of the victim," Dr. Collin explained again.
I would say our relationship is not like a typical husband and wife. My ex-husband Andrew was indeed more dominant. He is the owner of the renowned company Drew Furniture; he roams around on television voicing the spirit of the younger generation and SMEs in achieving their dreams, without anyone knowing he has a wife and has been cruel to her for the past three years.
"I don't have an ideal type, as long as she is kind-hearted, anyone can be my partner." His ambiguous and narcissistic words often make me feel disgusted and sad at the same time.
Andrew doesn't let the public know about me; he is young, handsome, and single all the time. He is surrounded by young women, as well as mothers who want to match their children with Andrew. He is so popular, but I am not even allowed to step out of the vicinity of his luxurious house for a minute. If you think that's normal, then you should see how many bruises he painted on my body. I also ended up in the hospital several times due to bleeding, and the children died because of his actions.
Stupidly, he said it was a form of love, and I believed him.
"Stockholm Syndrome itself is named after the robbery of Sveriges Kreditbank in Stockholm in 1973. The bank robbers, Jan Erik Olsson and Clark Olofsson, were armed and held bank employees hostage from August 23 to August 28 in 1973. When the victims were finally freed, the hostages' reaction was to hug and kiss the robbers who had held them captive. They emotionally became attached to the captors and defended them."
"Andrew bound me with marriage, we are legally and religiously married. Can it still be called Stockholm Syndrome?" I asked, thinking that Stockholm Syndrome could only be referred to in toxic relationships during dating, or like the case just mentioned between the captor and the captive.
"As studies have progressed, Stockholm syndrome can also be found in intimate relationships such as family or romantic relationships. Stockholm Syndrome involves the perpetrator showing a good side to the victim, and the victim will have hope that the perpetrator will change their behavior in the future, leading to an unhealthy bond and becoming the reason the victim finds it difficult to break free from the relationship." Dr. Collin explained again.
"Then what..." My sentence was not finished when I heard someone pressing Dr. Collin's doorbell repeatedly until it sounded very noisy.
Dr. Collin got up and looked out the window of his office, seeing a number of men outside. "I thought I was never in debt," Dr. Collin murmured, which piqued my curiosity to get up and look out the window.
"Oh God, that's Jimmy! He's my ex-husband's henchman," I said in panic.
"You wait here, I'll go out and convince them. In the meantime, you can hide anywhere because they might come in and search." I nodded in agreement, fully trusting Dr. Collin. As Dr. Collin walked out, I hurriedly approached a cabinet filled with piled-up documents. Under it, there was a spacious enough empty space; if I sat and curled up there, it might be sufficient.
I can't hear anything out there, and while cold sweat starts to soak my body, my hands are trembling. I'm really afraid of being caught and dragged back to Leo's house again. I know that when I encounter that man again, the feeling of love will take over me again, tolerating all his harsh actions. I ran here wanting to save myself; as long as I don't see Andrew, I can be more ruthless with my feelings.
Three minutes it seemed I held this position with mixed feelings until the sound of footsteps entered Dr. Collin office. They really did search, as Dr. Collin suspected. They even ransacked the room, slamming and banging the table roughly, making me flinch several times.
When I saw footsteps approaching my hiding place from the gap under the cupboard—I closed my eyes, and tears fell drop by drop unexpectedly. At that moment, even with my eyes closed, I could feel the cupboard door opening, and the sunlight from the window was blinding my eyes.
"Matilda, they are gone." Dr. Collin's voice made me open my eyes quickly. There was no one else in this room besides Dr. Collin and his smile that calmed his patient.
I came out of hiding with the help of Dr. Collin's hand. "Calm yourself first." Dr. Collin walked over to get a glass of water from the dispenser in his office to hand it to me.
"The people sent by your ex-husband could quickly track your whereabouts. Isn't it dangerous on the way home later?" asked Dr. Collin.
"I don't know; I'm scared too. I need a place to hide. Can the you take me to a safe place?"
"I don't know a safe hiding place. But if you want, I can take you to your destination to make sure they don't follow you." Doctor Collin sincerely offered to take me. But I don't know where I should go; both of my parents have passed away. I heard they also went back and forth to my parents' relatives' house to look for me. It seems that this is not a safe place. While thinking, Dr. Collin asked me to sit down again.
However, I still stood there, confused and directionless, tears streaming down unconsciously. If I follow my heart, then I want to go back to Andrew's house, but my logic tells me I have to leave there and heal myself. "I have no destination. I beg you, doctor, can't you hide me anywhere? I am willing to be taken to a mental hospital."

Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
New to the world of shifters, Draven is human on the run. A beautiful girl who no one could protect. Domonic is the cold Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack. A brotherhood of twelve wolves that live by twelve rules. Rules which they vowed could NEVER be broken.

But she doesn’t know about the child she’s carrying or that the moment she left, Domonic decided rules were made to be broken - and now will he ever find her again? Will she forgive him?
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."
Danielle Harris is the daughter of an overprotective police chief and has led a sheltered life. As a kindergarten teacher, she's as far removed from the world of Harleys and bikers as you could get, but when she's rescued by the sexy and dangerous Austin Carver, her life is changed forever.

The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
