Chapter 1
CHAPTER ONE
Kaylan.
My fate was sealed!
There's no way I'll be getting married to this demon staring at me and sucking every last surviving breath in my soul.
"Calm down Kaylan, he's only mocking us." My wolf assured me and I felt at ease, knowing that it would only be in my wildest dreams before such a thing could happen.
"ARE YOU DEAF!" He roared out, making me crumble to my feet in fear as I shook terribly in shock.
"I'm sorry Alpha. " I managed to breathe out, not daring to look at his forest green eyes that were already glowing with unforeseen danger. His jaw twitched with every step he took towards me and I'll be pissed with myself if I don't find him attractive.
He was like the god of sea with perfect looks to make anyone hypnotized but carried a dark heart of hell to make my life miserable.
"You haven't said a word yet, Kaylan." He growled, almost whispering in my ears and I shivered to my toes.
"I'll be doomed to say a word, Alpha. Please, spare my life."
I vibrated and felt a trickle of wet tears flowing down my cheeks as my face was covered on the floor. Lord, what was he going to do this time around? Hit me?
Beat me, hang or choke me? Whatever it is, I was preparing for the worst.
"Are you saying that I'm stupid?"
"No, Jeez! Never."
He asked me again, shutting his eyes and acting as if he was having a difficult time breathing. His first three buttons of his black shirt were open and his sleeves were all rolled up to his arms revealing two sinful art of nature before me. Well defined bulging muscles and a perfect sexy chest.
I can't believe I'm still not over this habit of mine, checking him out when I'm supposed to be praying for my fate.
"Then who the fuck are you to decide whom I choose to be my bride." He retorted in spite.
"I think you're mistaken, I'm not the right person to.."
Slap!
It was sent straight to my cheeks sending a tingling signal to my brain that I gasped.
"You dare call me incompetent."
"I never said so!" I cried out.
"How then am I mistaken huh?"
Good Lord! I thought he was bluffing. What the hell is Cypher up to?
Having me as a castigated piece of trash for a slave isn't enough, now he wants to burn me with this test?
How the hell will I marry him out of the blue? Does it even make sense to his hearing right now?
Why me of all people?
I want to yell out at him to stop making my already cursed life more suffocating, the only crime I committed was being a Slave rogue in the Lycan Kingdom.
"I..uh…please." I stuttered not knowing what to say as I swallowed hard. Trying to fight back the lump in my thrusts that was threatening to make me burst out in tears.
"Kaylan.." My name rolled out of his lips like some wretched curse that would be perished soon and my insides quaked with deep fear.
"Crescent Star Pack is in doom and you will do the pleasure of being at service to be my Luna!"
I gasped at his words.
"You're going to save and serve me from the impending doom that will befall me and stop my brother from doing something foolish, so how dare you open your filthy mouth to sway my words?"
He spat out every word with venom in his tone and my teeth trembled.
I won't survive this, maybe I'm in a dream and I would soon wake up from it.
Cypher Thompson would never ask me to be his bride out of the blue no matter what will befall him.
"I'm sorry, Alpha!"
Slap!
It sent me crashing to the ground that my lips bled and my jaw clenched in fury. The tears flowed endlessly and sniffed, trying so hard to hold myself or I would receive worse than this.
"That's for wasting my precious time you filth."
He spat out and I bowed, not staring at him lest I curl into fresh pain of forbidden tears.
"I'm so sorry, Alpha."
"The fact that you're going to be my Luna would never give you the privilege of misusing it. You remain my slave, for life."
I nodded, shaking my head frantically and he kicked me with a fierce force that made me land my back at the beautiful dresser, making me earn a crack from my spinal cord and I winced in pain bottling it all up.
I dare not cry in his presence, or I'll be whipped by the palace guards under the sun. That was one of the rules I dread the most.
Infact, their rules must never be broken or you live to see a war rage between hell and demons.
"Get lost and bring my meal immediately. If you're going to be my Luna, make sure you change those rags you're wearing before serving me."
"Eh?" I opened my mouth, so shocked at what he just uttered. This is the only surviving clothes I have on me, where does he want me to get another?
"Come closer, let me tell you clearly."
He said casually and I shook my head
"I heard you perfectly, Alpha "
I said and bowed, turning my back to leave his presence immediately.
The moment the fresh air hit my skin, I crumbled on my feet and let out the tears that were bottling up in my heart, crying my eyes out till I shook and trembled in dread.
Dear moons, tell me it's not true.
Tell me that he's bluffing and he just wants to make fun of me please.
I'll not survive a day with him in the same chambers, no! The Pack members will kill me themselves if they find out that their drop dead gorgeous Alpha is getting married to a wolf!
Damn!
My heart beat palpated at the thought too?
Why would he even say such when we are both different? Would the elders even concede to such union?
I pushed all thoughts away and ran to the kitchen like a maniac, fixing his meal to prepare when my hair was dragged backwards and my veins almost popped out.
A slap was sent across my face and I knew immediately that it was no one but the head servant.
"How dare you?" She screamed in disgust and washed her hands immediately as if she just touched a leprosy disease.
"I'm so sorry" I muttered
"You did that on purpose, didn't you? Barging into the royal kitchen with your inflicted and cursed wolf self to poison the members right?"
I gasped as my tears dropped without control. She was fond of doing this, making sure to make me cry, calling me names and never got tired of it even though I'm never at fault.
"I wouldn't dare, Alpha Cypher requested for his meal!"
"Liar!" She screamed and the other maids who recently came around giggled in mocking chuckle.
"She thinks she's special just because she's the Alpha personal maid!" One interjected and I bit my lips.
"She's bleeding! I'm sure the Alpha would burn her to ashes soon. Why not just die, you're never going to be accepted in this kingdom as a wolf? Don't try so hard, or you will meet yourself in a grave!"
They continued and the head servant pushed me out in fury. Throwing all sorts of ingredients on my face as they splattered on my ragged body before finally throwing the pot on me, earning a cut on my skin.
"There, cook your poison out there and don't come in here."
I bowed in pain, twitching my jaw in hot fury and fisted my hands.
I need to serve the Alpha no matter what, whatever he's going to do to me will be ten times worse than what these ones were doing.
"Please, let me serve the Alpha and I'll do anything you want me to do."
I pleaded as hot tears streamed down my cheeks.
"Never!" She batted her lashes at me, blinking her big eye ball.
"Please, I'll do anything."
She smirked and raised her hands to caress her jaw.
"Fine!"
I heaved a sigh of relief but I knew that a greater hell awaits me.
"When you're done let me know "
I nodded and thanked her as if she just lifted a heavy weight and watched her leave while I hurriedly prepared his meal.
When I'm done serving the Alpha, I'll flee.
I'll run so far away and never come back, being a slave was already a thorn of fire for me but being his Luna would rip my existence.
I carried the tray of food and walked blindly in tears, not focused until I bumped myself heavily on a hard rock, splattering the hot contents all over.
I gasped, shaking and wishing for the earth to take my life as I stared at the rock,
Cypher's brother
The second Alpha that can command the whole pack to get burnt with just a snap of a finger.
He turned fiercely to meet me and scoffed before letting off his inner demons to consume me and yelled.

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

Instead, my fingers curled into his shirt, clutching the fabric as though it was my only anchor. Something in him snapped—something he had been holding back for too long. His mouth found mine in a kiss that wasn't tender, but hungry, desperate.
I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.
