Regretting it now?
Too late!
Chapter 1
Mia Wilson held her fresh pregnancy test report, gently touching her belly with a blissful smile. "Little one, Daddy will be here in a few minutes to pick us up. Let's go downstairs and wait for him."
Today was her first wedding anniversary with James Smith. She hadn't expected it, but a special gift had arrived.
She had just found out she was six weeks pregnant.
As she walked, Mia took out her phone and called her husband.
After a long dial tone, someone finally answered. "Hello, James. I'm done with my checkup. When are you coming to get me?"
"Go back by yourself. I'm a bit busy."
James's cool voice came through the phone. She wasn't sure if it was her imagination, but there seemed to be a trace of impatience in his tone.
"James, I have some good news to tell you—"
"Mia!"
As she walked, she suddenly heard James shout her name. Startled, she froze and asked anxiously, "James, what's wrong?"
There was no reply. Suddenly, the call ended with a sharp click.
Mia's face turned pale. She immediately called back, but a mechanical voice answered, "Sorry, the number you have dialed is switched off."
Her heart tightened. All her thoughts were on James, and she failed to notice someone rushing toward her.
The impact knocked her hard to the ground. A sharp pain shot through her lower abdomen.
Her face turned deathly pale. Trembling, she pressed one hand firmly over her belly while gripping the man who had bumped into her with the other. Her face twisted in pain as she pleaded, "Take me to the hospital..."
...
By the time Mia was wheeled out of the ambulance, she was half-conscious from the pain.
Through the haze, she thought she heard James's voice.
Struggling, she forced her eyes open and looked toward the sound.
Through her blurred vision, she saw James. His face was full of worry.
The last of her strength gave out. Tears slid down her cheeks as she called weakly, "James..."
But the man she called did not rush to her side. Instead, he opened the passenger door of his car and carefully helped a woman out.
Mia recognized her immediately. It was Amelia Martinez, his friend, who had just returned from overseas.
As the stretcher passed him, James's usually composed and handsome face was filled with panic and helplessness.
Mia felt as if she had fallen into an icy abyss. Her heart ached as though it were being sliced apart. She closed her eyes, completely drained, and lost consciousness.
...
When she woke up again, she was in a hospital room.
The hospital.
"My baby!"
Her pupils contracted sharply. Panic filled her face as she lifted a trembling hand to her abdomen.
"Don't worry. The baby is fine."
James had been sitting by her bedside. Seeing her pale lips and frightened expression, he gently patted her head and reached under the blanket to hold her hand. Her fingers were ice-cold
James frowned slightly. "Why are your hands so cold?"
Before he could say more, Mia pulled her hand away.
The image she had seen before fainting resurfaced in her mind. Her nose stung.
James noticed her unusual reaction. His eyes grew subtly colder.
Normally, when her hands were cold, she would lean into him and ask him to warm them.
"Are you feeling unwell?" His long fingers reached toward her forehead.
Mia looked at him.
His tenderness now felt like a blade, each word cutting into her heart. Her eyes reddened instantly.
When she was young, her father's constant suspicion had driven her mother away with another man, leaving Mia behind.
Her father had then fallen into gambling and drinking, and violence filled their home.
So during the four years she had been with James, she had loved him wholeheartedly and trusted him completely.
She never imagined it would end in betrayal.
He had been lying to her all along.
Grief and anger surged within her. She used all her strength to slap his hand away. "Get away, don't touch me."
Don't touch her with the hands that had held Amelia.
James's hand froze mid-air. After a brief silence, he lowered it and looked at her as if she were being unreasonable.
"Mia, stop making a scene."
His voice remained calm, but it carried a chill.
Mia bit her bloodless lips. Tears gathered in her eyes, but she forced them back.
Fake.
All of it had been fake.
For four years, she must have looked like a fool. How ridiculous.
Her heart hurt unbearablyher voice was barely audible. "Don't touch me…"
She instinctively edged backward trying to distance herself from him. She did not realize she had reached the edge of the bed and was about to fall.
James's eyes sharpened. In one swift motion, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. Though his expression appeared calm, his gaze was icy.
"Mia, that's enough."
James was usually composed and in control. It was rare to see his emotions waver.
But whenever he called her by her full name in that calm, distant tone, she knew he was angry.
In the past, she would immediately soften, throwing herself into his arms and coaxing him playfully.
Most of the time, he would simply pinch her cheek in mild reproach.
But this time, she did not yield. She bit her lip and stared at him stubbornly.
"What are you arguing about?"
A woman in her forties wearing a white coat walked into the room.
Her voice was even louder than James's. Unfazed by his cold aura, she rebuked him bluntly, "If you're so capable, take it out elsewhere. What kind of man vents his temper on his pregnant wife?"
The doctor clearly had a poor impression of him.
His wife had been rushed to the emergency room, and no one could reach him. He didn't call back until almost midnight, yet now he dared to get angry here.
James's face darkened. If anyone else had spoken to him this way, they would not have escaped unscathed.
But this was Mia's attending physician. He suppressed his anger and said stiffly, "I apologize."
"Don't apologize to me. Apologize to your wife."
Seeing his restrained attitude, the doctor's tone softened slightly, though it remained stern.
She stepped forward to examine Mia.
Mia watched her anxiously. As soon as the examination ended, she asked nervously, "Doctor, how is my baby?"

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

My back hit the desk. Pain exploded through my skull.
"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.

The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."

The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
