Chapter 1
Epilogue
"T
his is your time, Joe. You're definitely the man for the job, and the Board of Commissioners will see it that way."
Captain Joe Matthews swiveled around in his chair. It was a base chair, so it creaked and wobbled. The government spent top dollar on weapons for the men and women who protected their interests. Not so much on ergonomic office furniture.
"This is the first step in what you always wanted." Richard, Joe's soon-to-be campaign manager's voice crackled as it came over the satellite phone line.
Joe had wrapped up his time as a JAG officer in the Armed Forces. He'd spent the last three years serving as legal advisor to one of the military's top commanders. He'd done good work. But this wasn't the work he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
He wanted to continue to serve the people of this great nation. Especially little people like he and his brothers had been. When Charlie had called him a few days ago asking for help with a foster kid, some old spark in Joe's belly had ignited.
This was the reason he'd gone into the law. He'd spent the first years of his life not having a say in his own life. Now that he was grown and had a command of the law, he would never be put in that position again. He could help others in need to find their own voices.
The perfect platform to do that would be as the District Attorney for his county. And maybe, someday, the State Attorney. And then, later in life, something more…
"So, that's the plan," said Richard. "You head home, and we start the schmoozing campaign with the Board of Commissioners."
"I'm headed back home," Joe confirmed. "But when I get there, I first need to help my family with a legal matter."
"What legal matter?"
"Just some help with a foster kid they want to adopt."
"That's…" There was a bit of static over the phone, and a few of Richard's words were lost to the ether. "… great on your resume. It'll definitely convince Commissioner Benson that you're the man for the job."
"I thought you said they all see me as a fit to fill the District Attorney position."
"Yeah, well," Richard hedged as the phone line crackled. "A few need convincing. A good deed like that will convince them. That and you finding the right hometown girl to propose to."
"Propose?" There must've been a disconnect or interference with the line. Joe couldn't have possibly heard that correctly.
"Can't have a bachelor in line for U.S. State Attorney for Montana."
Joe heard that loud and clear. That was his ultimate goal. But marriage?
"I'll work on finding you the right girl," Richard was saying, his voice coming across loud and clear on the phone line. "We just can't have any scandals in the meantime."
"Right. No scandals."
"I'll also have a realtor looking into a condo for you."
"A condo?" asked Joe. "Why would I stay in a condo when my family has a two thousand acre ranch?"
"Didn't you say there were people staying there?"
"Yeah," Joe said, then added. "Just some foster kids." He hesitated another moment and then conceded. "And my brother's fiancée… and…"
The line crackled again. Joe waited for the interference to die down. It didn't. The connection snapped before Joe could finish his sentence.
What Joe didn't mention was that there was another adult guest staying there as well. But what happened between him and Foxy James was years ago. No reason they couldn't be on the same ranch. In the same guest house.
None at all.
You've met Foxy.
So you know her and her psychic abilities are a scandal waiting to happen for Joe.
Wonder if Foxy will predict what will happen when Joe returns?

The CEO's Unspoken Love
Before I could answer, he moved closer, suddenly looming over me, his face inches from mine. I felt my breath caught, my lips parting in surprise.
"Then this is the price for speaking ill of me to others," he murmured, nipping my lower lip before claiming my mouth in a real kiss. It began as punishment but quickly transformed into something else entirely as I responded, my initial rigidity melting into compliance, then active participation.
My breathing accelerated, small sounds escaping my throat as he explored my body. His touches were both punishment and pleasure, drawing shudders from me that I thought he felt reverberating through his own body.
My nightgown had ridden up, his hands discovering more of mine with each caress. We were both lost in sensation, rational thought receding with each passing second...
Three years ago, to fulfill the wish of his grandmother, I was forced to marry Derek Wells, the second son of the family that had adopted me for ten years. He didn't love me, but I had secretly loved him all along.

The Dragon's Last Fae Queen
“Prince? Dickhead? Asshole? Or stalker?” A slow, dangerous smile curved his lips. “Maybe I should show you the one title I want you to use.” Before I could react, his hand closed around my chin, tilting my face up. His lips crashed into mine, hard, claiming, breath-stealing. When he finally pulled back, his voice was a rough whisper against my lips. “You could call me yours… because you are mine.”
Bella and Her Beast
.
Locked in her frozen tower, Bella dreamed of warmth, of touch, of freedom and of love. Cursed with the power of ice and snow, she’s spent her life alone. A secret they tried to protect the world from. Her only escape comes in the form of the books she reads. Stories of heat, desire, and the kind of love that could melt even her frostbitten heart.
Damien is the Beast. A dragon King with a temper forged in flame and a soul hollowed by duty. The world fears him. The people call him a monster. But beneath the scales and the rage lies a man who has never been touched by love.
When frost meets fire, the world shatters. She was never meant to leave her tower. He was never meant to find her. But destiny doesn’t bow to kings or care for cages and now the question burns through them both: Can Bella have her Beast? Or will the girl of snow melt in the heat of his desire?
.
"I’m keeping her."
"What?"
Before I can react, he scoops her up. Her small body fits easily in the cradle of his talons. For a split second, she looks startled, but not afraid. Her hand rests against one scaled finger, and she stares up at him with that same curious wonder, as though she’s already forgotten she was ever meant to fear me.
"Put her down," I try to command, panic threading through my thoughts. "You’ll hurt her."
"She’s ours," the beast insists, possessive and fierce. "Our snowflake."
A pack of their own
What the Heart Wants (Book 1 of the Alpha Faros Series)
Not loving him will cost more.
Derek has one goal: survive high school without drawing too much attention or pissing off his pack’s alpha.
As the youngest son of the alpha, his life is governed by lycan hierarchy, tradition, and politics. With no signs of awakening a lycan spirit, his only value is what he can do for the pack’s image. He knows he’s only ever one misstep away from exile… or worse.
Then, he finds a boy trapped in a locker on orientation day, and everything changes.
Derek shouldn’t want Nikolias. He’s off-limits. A risk Derek can’t afford.
So why does it feel like he’s the only thing worth fighting for?
Nikolias has just lost everything: his parents, his home, and any sense of peace. Sent back to the town his family left years ago to live with his prejudiced and controlling uncle, who wants nothing to do with anything—or anyone—not human, he’s trying to do everything in his power to get out quickly.
But then he meets Derek again, and all of his plans vanish in the soft, yearning flecks of gold in Derek’s green-hazel eyes. He’s drawn to Derek in a way that’s impossible to deny, and he thinks Derek feels the same way, despite the danger their relationship holds for him.
As Moonshadow's politics turn deadly, Derek and Nikolai are caught in the crossfire of a war that had started long before they were born, and their bond becomes a threat and a lifeline that neither can afford to sever.
Because the heart wants what it wants….
And it never asks permission.
