Realm Weaver · Ongoing · 33.6k Words
Introduction
To his bewilderment, David awoke in the very world he had been reading about, reincarnated into the unfolding narrative. The catch? He had only read the prologue, leaving his knowledge of the future blank. His second chance at life took a dark turn when he was sold to a shadowy organization that subjected him to abuse, molding him into a lethal assassin.
His salvation came unexpectedly when he was rescued by the novel's protagonist, earning a place as the protagonist's right-hand man. As their alliance flourished, David found himself entangled in a tumultuous life, culminating in a heroic but tragic end on the battlefield. His dying wish for peace remained unfulfilled as, contrary to his expectations, death did not bring respite.
Instead, David experienced an unnerving regression, returning to the womb. Determined to embrace a serene existence in his next life, he vowed to rest peacefully. Yet, the relentless hand of fate had other plans for him. Will he find the tranquility he seeks, or is destiny bound to disrupt his quest for rest once again? The journey unfolds as David navigates the unpredictable twists of his reincarnated existence.
Chapter 1
Nyx's Pov
"Nyx! Behind you!"
Before Orion's warning reached me, I felt an arrow pierce my heart. It must have been a poison arrow because I could feel a burning sensation spreading throughout my body. I had already reached my limits and this arrow had sealed my fate. I was dying. I looked around.
Amidst the swirling dust and acrid scent of burning embers, the battlefield stretched endlessly before me. The clash of metal on metal, the thundering hooves of war-steeds, and the anguished cries of the fallen blended into a cacophony that seemed to reverberate through time itself.
The sun hung low on the horizon, casting long shadows across the scarred landscape. As I fell to my knees, I felt the weight of the decisions that had brought us to this point. The clash of civilizations, the thirst for glory, and the endless pursuit of lands that were not our own. I know that we didn't have a choice. Either we conquered them or they would conquer us. There was no middle ground.
I spared a moment to glance at the faces of my comrades. Each set jaw and determined gaze reflected the weariness of both body and soul. We were brothers, bound not only by blood spilled together but by the unspoken understanding that we were mere pawns in the grand tapestry of war. And then, I looked at him. Orion. My best friend and saviour. If it weren't for him, I would still be a bloodhound of those bastards.
He is making his way towards me. His expression tells me he knows that I'm dying. I wonder what my life would have been like if I never entered this forsaken novel. If I had never died in my previous world, what would my life be like? Oh, Orion broke through. Looks like the stimulation from my death was too much for him. As expected of the protagonist. I looked at him and smiled. Even though I am dying, I'm not sad. If anything, I am happy. I can finally rest.
Nyx's Pov Ends
As Nyx's body fell face first into the ground in front of him, Orion was able to take a final glimpse of smile on his best friend's face. When the arrow had hit Nyx and he fell to his knees, Orion had already realized that his best friend who was practically his family, was going to die. He felt utterly helpless. His helplessness turned into anger towards the foes that had done this to him. That anger turned into killing intent. He vowed that he would slaughter them all. He felt something unlock inside him. His Slaughter Law had broken through.
He started resonating with his martial spirit, Saber of Slaughter and felt as if they had become one. To think that he would achieve Man and Spirit Unity, but the price that he had to pay was too high, too precious. The only thing he could do now was avenge his brother. He roared as he reached Nyx's body. No matter what, he wouldn't allow anyne to desecrate his brother's remains.
Nyx's PoV
I felt that everything had become dark. Was this the underworld? It surprisingly feels familiar. I don't know, but atleast now, I can rest. If this underworld though, we have unnecessarily tarnished it's reputation. Its not scary at all. If anything, it is like taking a warm bath.
Wait a damn minute. Familiar? Warm bath? This isn't the underworld! This is my mother's womb. Why am I here? Is this is some sort of sick cosmic prank? Or maybe this is the underworld and I'm being tortured. Huh? What's that?
"...ney, what do you want the baby to be? A boy or a girl?"
"I don't mind either. But I want a boy. I don't think I can see my little girl marrying some guy who obviously doesn't deserve her. We'll know today anyway. You should rest now. The doctor will arrive in about two hours. I have a meeting but I'll return before she arrives."
There is no doubt about it. This is my mom's womb. And considering that I can hear them, she has been pregnant for at least 16 weeks. What should I do now? Should I just kill myself and be done with it? This the only way.
Nyx's PoV Ends
Bella sat in a rocking chair as she cradled her belly.
"Hello, my little one. It's just you and me right now. How are you doing in there?"
Although she wasn't expecting a reply, she felt a small kick in her stomach. She laughed. It seems that her baby liiked her voice.
"We've got a lot of adventures waiting for us, you know. I can't wait to hold you in my arms, feel your tiny fingers, and see your little face for the first time."
Inside her womb, when Nyx heard her words, he cursed at himself for being so inconsiderate. He hadn't thought about the consequences of his actions. Since plan A was now a dud, he had to think of something else. No matter how much he thought about it, there was only one thing he could do if he wanted to realise his wish.
It was the only way for him to rest without anyone bothering him and maybe even help Orion. He thought about this world that he had arrived in. This world, that refused to let him find peace, even in death.
Originally, he was just an average guy on Earth. The kind that worked from nine to five. He had been a part of the lowest rung of an exploitative company. The company worked him to the bone, leaving little to no time for a social life. He slowly grew apart from his friends and even his girlfriend broke up with him. The only joy that he had left in his life were webnovels.
He had first started reading webnovels because it was an easy time pass for the short breaks that he sometimes recieved. But then, he started enjoying them. Anyways, he had found a novel with an intersesting concept. Semi sentient worlds waging wars on each other to devour the other and grow stronger.
That was the plot of 'Martial Wars: An Epic Saga'. He had just finished reading the prologue, and was about to open chapter 1 when he had a splitting headache. That was the last thing he remembered when he woke up in the very place he was now. His mother's womb.
At that point, he didn't know that he had been reincarnated inside the novel. After his birth, he was called a genius by others. With the soul of an adult man it would be weird if he wasn't. He realized that this was the world of 'Martial Wars: An Epic Saga' when he was three years old due to the names of this world and the one in the novel were the same.
He had a small flashback of all the horrid memories of his past life and decided that he would make sure that he would be able to rest this time. The plan was to become a hidden boss. He would become a hidden mastermind. For that, he needed a perfect disguise, another identity. This would usually be very diificult due to the particular power system of this world but he had a plan.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

“I am done chasing you.”

His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully
My back hit the desk. Pain exploded through my skull.
"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.
Someone... please...
