Introduction
Mireya Ashcroft's life is already in ruins. Betrayed by her fiancé who stole her research to advance his own career, abandoned by her family who chose her perfect sister over her, and framed for a crime that destroyed her reputation---she has nothing left but her job shelving books in Ashenvale's oldest occult library.
On the blood moon, desperate to prove her stolen research was real, she performs what she believes is a harmless historical ritual. Instead, she tears open the veil and summons him.
Azraeth, the Demon King. The destroyer of armies. The nightmare whispered about in celestial temples and witch covens alike. Imprisoned for five hundred years by angels who feared his power, he emerges from his prison with vengeance burning in his eyes and an ancient hunger that nothing can satisfy.
Except the mark is now burned into Mireya's skin, binding her soul to his. And the binding wasn't random---it was prophecy.
As angels descend to execute her for the forbidden summoning and witches hunt her to steal the demon's power, Mireya discovers three shattering truths: her "ordinary" life was a carefully constructed lie, the mark awakening something dangerous inside her that tastes like chaos and shadow, and Azraeth doesn't just need her to survive his weakened state---her blood is the key to breaking the curse that's slowly killing him.
But accepting her dark power means embracing the monster inside her. And falling for the Demon King means becoming the villain in everyone else's story.
The angels called her a mistake. Her family called her worthless. Her ex called her forgettable.
The Demon King calls her his salvation---and his damnation.
Chapter 1
MIREYA'S POV
I drop the heavy book, and it hits the floor with a bang that echoes through the empty library.
My hands are shaking. Again.
I bend down to pick it up, and that's when I see my reflection in the dark window. A tired girl with messy brown hair stares back at me. I almost don't recognize her anymore.
Six months ago, I was Dr. Mireya Ashcroft. Almost. I had a fancy office at the university. I had a fiancé who said he loved me. I had a family who came to my research presentations.
Now? I'm the night librarian who shelves books nobody reads.
The blood moon hangs in the sky outside, fat and red like a giant eye watching me. Everyone says blood moons are dangerous. That weird things happen when the moon turns that color. I used to think that was just superstition.
I used to think a lot of stupid things.
"You're worthless, Mireya," my mother's voice echoes in my head. Those were her last words to me before she chose my perfect sister Celeste over me. "Your sister is marrying into angel nobility. What have you done? Nothing but embarrass this family."
I slam another book onto the shelf harder than I need to.
Kieran's face flashes in my mind. My ex-fiancé. The man I loved. The man who stole three years of my research—every note, every diagram, every discovery—and published it under his own name. Then he told everyone I tried to summon demons, which is illegal. A crime punishable by death.
The university believed him. My family believed him. The police believed him.
Nobody believed me.
Now Kieran is the youngest dean in university history. He's famous. He's rich. And I'm... here. Alone in a dusty library at midnight, shelving books about the demons everyone says are evil monsters.
My pocket feels heavy.
I reach in and pull out the crumpled paper. The summoning ritual. The one page Kieran didn't steal because I kept it separate. I've read it a thousand times. Memorized every word.
According to my research, this ritual doesn't just summon random demons. It calls the one whose soul matches yours. The one you're meant to find.
Everyone thinks it's fake. Old magic that doesn't work anymore.
But what if they're wrong?
What if I could prove my research was real?
I look at the blood moon again. The ritual only works during a blood moon. Tonight is my chance. Maybe my only chance.
"This is crazy," I whisper to myself.
But crazy is better than invisible. Better than nothing.
I make my decision.
The forbidden summoning chamber is in the basement, behind a door nobody has opened in decades. The university pretends it doesn't exist. But I found it months ago during my research. The lock is old and rusty. It breaks easily when I kick it.
The room beyond smells like dust and old magic. There's a stone floor and walls covered in symbols I studied for years. A perfect circle is already carved into the center of the floor.
My heart pounds as I kneel beside the circle. I pull out white chalk that glows faintly in the dark. The instructions are clear in my mind. Draw the symbols. Speak the words. Offer your blood.
But there's one more thing. The most important thing.
You have to speak your true name. Not the name people call you. The name your soul knows.
I draw the symbols carefully, my hands steadier now. I know what my true name is. I've known for six months, since the day Kieran destroyed my life.
From my bag, I take out the ritual knife. It's old, made of silver, with symbols carved into the handle. My hands don't shake as I hold it.
The blood moon shines through a high window, painting everything red.
I press the blade to my palm and cut.
Blood wells up, hot and dark. I let it drip onto the circle.
"I call to the one who shares my soul," I say, my voice stronger than I expected. "I call across the veil between worlds. I offer my blood freely."
Then I speak the name nobody knows. The name that's been screaming inside me since everyone I loved betrayed me.
"I am Mireya the Betrayed. Mireya the Forgotten. Mireya who will burn them all."
My blood hits the circle.
Everything stops.
The air. My breath. Time itself.
Then the temperature drops so fast I can see my breath fog in front of my face. The candles blow out. Darkness swallows everything.
Something is coming.
The circle explodes with black light. Shadows pour out like living things, twisting and writhing across the walls. The stone floor cracks beneath my feet.
A voice speaks from the darkness. Deep. Ancient. Terrifying.
"Impossible."
The shadows condense, taking shape. A shape that's too tall, too powerful, too real to be my imagination.
Golden eyes open in the darkness, looking straight at me.
And in that moment, I realize three things:
One—the ritual worked.
Two—I just summoned something far more dangerous than I ever imagined.
Three—I can never, ever take
this back.
The darkness takes form, and I see him.

On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

King of the Underworld
However, one fateful day, the King of the Underworld appeared before me and rescued me from the clutches of the most powerful Mafia boss's son. With his deep blue eyes fixed on mine, he spoke softly: "Sephie... short for Persephone... Queen of the Underworld. At last, I have found you." Confused by his words, I stammered out a question, “P..pardon? What does that mean?”
But he simply smiled at me and brushed my hair away from my face with gentle fingers: "You are safe now.”

The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully
My back hit the desk. Pain exploded through my skull.
"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.
