Chapter 1
SCARLETT
"Are you an idiot?" didn't you know that I like my coffee without sugar? Maria screamed, her eyes wide with rage as she glared at me. She was so angry that her hands shook, and right away she threw the hot coffee all over my face.
The burning liquid ran down, and I flinched as I wiped my eyes. My heart raced. Her anger hurt more than the coffee itself.
Have you ever witnessed a scenario in which Luna is still neglected and treated like a slave, even after marriage?
That is my reality, as I, Scarlett Hilary, a 21-year-old woman mated to the formidable Alpha John of the powerful Silver Moon Pack, remain relegated to languish in the slave quarters alongside countless others, despite my status. As Luna, I should be revered, yet I am scorned. Rejected cruelly by my mate after our rushed bonding, this gut-wrenching dismissal has haunted me since my youth. Now, with my guardians lost to time, I am left with nothing but memories of happier days spent dreaming of a life of comfort and prestige, a far cry from my lamentable circumstances. Still, I retain hope that one fateful day, my mate will acknowledge me and alleviate my suffering, restoring me to my rightful place at his side as his cherished partner. Until then, I can but endure the disdain of the citizens and pray that my fortunes will change under the light of the Silver Moon pack.
When I found out that my second-chance mate was the Alpha of the pack where I was being enslaved, joy filled my heart. It was a surreal moment.
Although when I looked into his eyes, it felt like he wanted to tear me apart that second. I could have sworn he was one sentence away from rejecting me.
I really didn't know what changed his mind and made him accept me, but it doesn't matter that much, right? I was too happy to even give it another thought.
In the days that followed, he began treating me well. I felt like a human for the first time in my life. He bought me luxurious dresses and handed them to me with warm and genuine smiles, making me feel a flutter in my chest for the first time ever.
I would twirl in the soft fabrics, laughing freely, feeling like a princess. I wore the jewelry he gave me, and it sparkled like my new hope.
But then, everything changed. Maria, his ex-girlfriend, returned from abroad six months ago and started living in this pack.
The warmth in his eyes towards me started to fade. The kindness I had come to cherish slipped away, leaving me feeling small and neglected again.
Sometimes, when Maria returned from her luxurious outing with John, she would saunter back into the pack, a smug smirk playing on her lips, hinting that something else might have occurred. I couldn't help but notice how she paraded herself to John, her laughter ringing out like a witch, and how he would look at her with a warmth that made my heart bitter.
John always assured me that nothing was going on between them and that it was just business matters. I trusted him with everything I have, so I find it hard to believe his ex-girlfriend.
I lifted the hem of my long dress a little, making sure my underwear stayed covered, and used the soft fabric to wipe the coffee off my face. My cheeks burned with total embarrassment and shame as I cleaned away the warm, sticky mess. Maria stood a few steps away, a smirk on her face as she joyfully watched me struggle. With a toss of her hair, she threw her bag over her shoulders and turned to walk away, her laughter ringing in the air like a lost witch.
Just as she passed, she kicked at my legs playfully, the impact catching me off guard, but I managed to stop myself from falling and crying.
I heard the door slam open.
I turned back, my breath catching in my throat as I saw a figure coming closer: a very good-looking young man with a chiseled jawline and a stern expression—John. Whenever his deep-set blue eyes peered into mine, my heart started to race.
My lips curved into a bright smile. I took a step forward, reaching out for a hug, eager to feel his arms around me. However, he immediately pushed me aside, his face firm, and my heart dwelling in confusion.
“But John—” I started, my voice shaking.
His face twisted with anger, his lips curling back as he growled, “How dare you call me by my name?!” Where did you get the audacity to do that?!”
With each word, he stepped closer, his sharp jaw clenched and his brows knitted tightly together. The intensity of his piercing blue eyes felt like a spotlight, making my heart race with fear.
I instinctively took a step back, wanting to shrink away from his presence. I looked down, avoiding his gaze, feeling my cheeks flush with shame and anxiety.
“You are nothing but a slave to me. Have I ever called you my Luna?” he said as his voice hit me hard like a ton of bricks.
I shook my head, my heart pounding as his piercing gaze locked onto mine, sending a jolt of fear through me. His earthy, powerful scent filled my nostrils, making me shiver as his breath brushed against my skin.
“I’m … sorry … “Alpha John,” I stammered, my voice lower than a whisper, trembling as I spoke.
John wasn't even bothered about how badly I was treated in his pack simply because I was an Omega and a slave. It stung to realize that the rules of the pack, which branded me unworthy, didn't seem to affect him at all.
It is forbidden for an Alpha in this pack to mate with someone like me, yet he brought me into the Alpha’s mansion.
He was the same man who, since finding out I was mated to him, has harbored hatred for me in his heart. He feels disgusted by my presence, and I know that, but still, he makes sure not to throw me out of his mansion, and that's how kind I saw him.
In a second, he grabbed my arms as we walked from the dining room, heading for the stairs. Our legs hit the stairs, echoing around the house.
We reached our room, and he threw me onto our matrimonial bed, my back hitting the mattress as I felt confused about what was happening. My heart pounded against my ribcage.
“Alpha John … what's…”
Before I could finish my sentence, he grabbed my neck and began to touch my back, undressing my rag-looking gown with his two hands until my boobs were fully exposed. He pressed them each with both hands really hard, spreading my legs on the bed so he could penetrate my under properly.
“You want me to stop?” He kissed me intensely at the side of my ear; as I shook my head, his marvelous scent spread across my face. His breath was so fucking hot, and I couldn't say no.
He slammed my face on the bed and tightened my two hands across each other as he licked every part of me. He grabbed my hair, lifting my face up as he whispered something in my ear.
“Just bear in mind that you're only a prostitute to me, not a wife. Do I make myself clear?”
I smiled because he loves teasing me with these words anytime we are about to mate; his harsh words are like music to my ears, and I would listen to only them. He spanked my a*s so wildly that i got extremely wett and I couldn't resist him .
Am I a fool? I asked myself be
cause nobody would ever believe what I just said about his words to me.
